This was my 3rd time playing Los Verdes and it was by far the best conditions I've seen. We teed off at 140pm and the sun was shining (I played in the morning the previous two times and it was overcast the whole round). One of the best public tracks in LA County hands down. You really can't beat the price of $48 to walk. After I scored a twilight tee time, I saw the aerification warning on the GK site. I called the shop and they said that they decided to skip this season's punching :) After playing, I can see why. The greens were almost perfect. Rolled fast and true. Fairways had excellent coverage with tee boxes not being an issue at all. I was in a couple bunkers and there was plenty of decent sand. It's not an easy course but not the most difficult either. Highly recommended if you can get on. See photos for the epic views.

Teed off at 1045am on Saturday, 12/27. Check in was easy and was happy the grass range and putting greens were open. Got out on time and pace was great all day. Never had to wait. Overall though, the course needs some attention, especially the fairways. There were areas on every fairway that were circled as ground under repair. Lots of thin lies. The greens were in decent shape and running fairly quick. The layout can play tough especially with some wind. I was very surprised that the Grill was open as well as the packed outdoor dining area. Very different from Los Angeles. Hopefully the recent rain will help the course heal a bit and make conditions more playable.

Played on Saturday, 12/19, and teed off on time at 10:12am. I've never played any of the courses at PGA West and it was definitely a treat. Check in was very easy and the free range balls on a grass range were a plus. The course is in great shape with the greens running at an 11 (according to the marshal). It's a beautiful place with some challenging holes. I can't wait to get back out and play one of the other courses. Worth the $130 green fee IMO.

Played Saturday morning, 12/12, at 9am. Check in was easy and we teed off right on time. As the previous review mentioned, the fairways need some love. There are bare spots and thin lies throughout the course. It seems to have gotten worse since the last review. I played this course in May when the COVID restrictions were first lifted and it was in prime shape. It's a bummer that it's deteriorated a bit since then. The greens were decent and tee boxes were okay. The rates at the LBC courses have increased a bit and may not be worth the fee until the conditions improve.

A little bit late, played on Friday, 11/30. Was a little skeptical after reading the archived reviews from a couple of years ago but wow was I impressed. The course used to have 3 nines but is now only 2: the Vista and the Oceana. Every single hole has ocean views and the Oceana has the most spectacular views on a course I've ever played. The conditions were great with above average versus your typical muni. There are definitely some challenging holes but there are some scoring holes as well. The customer service was great and we didn't wait on a single hole. And with my parents now residing in Rosarito, I'll definitely be back. Well worth the $100 green fee.

Teed off at Rec on Sunday, 11/8, at 730am about 10 min late but didn't wait on a shot all day. The pace was under 3:45! The wind was howling all morning and made the round very challenging. The conditions are just okay with everything from the tee boxes to the greens needing a little bit of TLC. I always enjoy Rec as the layout is challenging enough to keep you on your toes but not a extremely difficult track. Hopefully, they'll get some rain this season and the course will improve the conditions. $43 to walk with a resident card isn't a bad deal but it's $58 without.

Teed off on time at noon on Sunday, 11/1. Check in was easy and was walking only on the Butterfield side. Pace was great with no waiting at all. It was a beautiful day for golf. The conditions of the course are like a typical muni with decent coverage throughout but also had some bare spots in the fairways and rough. Greens still had some aeration scars from earlier in the month but rolled true. I wasn't in any sand traps but they looked to have some good coverage. Overall, the course is definitely playable and for $30 to walk, I feel it's a decent deal.

Teed off at 11am on Saturday, 10/24, with a $55 deal time. Check in was easy. Hit a small bucket on the grass range and were off on time. We waited on every single shot and took 5.5 hours to finish. Conditions were decent with the fairways with good coverage and the greens rolling quick. The course has a great design and there are definitely some challenging holes. But 5.5 hours is way to long to play 18 holes of golf anywhere. $55 was a great deal for a decent course but the pace just killed the day.

Teed off on time at 1230pm on Saturday, October 17th. The views at this track are tough to beat. From the 1st hole to the 18th, it's tough to find a bad view. The course is in great condition especially considering the heat waves we've had this summer. There were a couple of holes that appeared to have been overwatered but overall, tee boxes to fairways to greens, excellent conditions. $32 to walk is definitely worth the drive from Los Angeles. Recommended.

I was excited to play this course as it's been on my list for a while. Check in was easy and we paid the $120 green fee. Teed off at 845am on 10/10. It was already backed up. The condition of the course is more like a muni. Not the conditions of a course that charges over $100. Tee boxes were chewed up with crab grass. Fairways were inconsistent with patches of dead grass through out. Greens were average with several divots. Some of the views are amazing but definitely not worth the drive or the fee. And like some of the other recent reviews mentioned, the pace of play is horrendous. 5.5 hours to finish. Waited on pretty much every shot. I'd look elsewhere if you're looking to spend the $$$.

Teed off on time at 845am on 10/3. Like most courses right now pace was not an issue. We were walking and never waited on a shot. The course conditions are in excellent conditions. Fairways are very lush and are awesome to hit from. Greens are receptive but are very quick. I wasn’t in any bunkers but they looked like they had a lot of sand. Love playing this course. Recommend it if you can get a tee time.

Played Rancho yesterday, 9/27, with a 1030am tee time. I was able to use my loyalty points and got the round for free! We got out on time and we were on track to finish in under 4 hours until we hit a bit of a wall on the par 3 11th. Even with waiting on a few holes coming in, we still finished under 4.5 hours.

The course is in decent shape with the greens for me the highlight of the track. They were in great shape and rolled true with a medium speed. The fairways had some browning throughout and the rough was hit or miss. I wasn't any in bunkers but they looked like they had some decent coverage. For how much play this course gets, i feel that the groundskeeper does a great job to keep the course in decent shape. I just wish tee times were easier to snag.
