Played 1/14. After being hammered by the rains over the holidays, all of the downed trees have been removed (btw...makes 7 a much easier hole, still stay left tho) and the sand traps have been refilled. Kudos to the management, the course is in the best shape I can remember!!!

Pros: The course was great and in very good condition.

Cons: 1) The clubhouse attendant failed to notify us of the frost delay in the morning causing the tee times to be pushed back an hour, and we did not find out until after warming up. 2) The starter had no control over the que that was forming to tee off. 3) The restaurant ran out of Hot Dogs AND sandwiches by the time we finished the first 9 (about 3 pm). Sorry to flame the staff but the service was poor at best.

Played over the Labor Day Weekend. First off, this is a fairly easy course that is adequately maintained, though there was some areas that had water issues. As with the old post from before, I would not drive up from LA to play this course but if you are in the area and cannot find a tee time in Morrow Bay or the trio of Nipomo courses and MUST play golf then this would course will do fine.

The course: Like I said fairly easy course, some holes have slight to moderate elevation changes and some are flat. Most fairways are generous and tree lined. Some issues with gathering water in a few crucial approach shot areas. The greens were likewise soft early on but firmed up nicely as the round progressed.

Customer Service is lost on this crew. The first marshal we saw wanted us to catch up to the group that had teed off 45:00 prior. We were not holding up groups behind us but he would hear nothing of it and dogged us on holes 6, 7 and 8. We eventually did catch up to those in front and actually had to wait on the last two tees and finished in 4.5 hours (you do the math). Sorry for the rant but these people should know better than to harass golfers during their game.

I will make sure to get that Morrow tee time in earlier as this experience left me with a bad taste.

Played 6/22. This is a nice and challenging course, but once again, it could be a lot better if the golfers would police themselves. Some of the greens had excessive ball markings and some of the tees had numerous unfilled scars.

This arroyo bordered course features very firm and fast greens that roll very true. Bring an extra couple of balls :) Played in 4.5 hrs.

Overall, the staff was excellent and I would visit again.

Played 12/23. The new clubhouse is open! There is still a bit of work to be done on the 1st and 10th tee boxes (where the old clubhouse was) but that will be remedied soon. The putting green is forthcoming also. The course is in great shape, nuff said. The staff is always excellent. No complaints and it is still the best value in OC.

Played 9/18. The course is undergoing some tee box repair on a few of the holes which shortens the course some. Overall, the course is in excellent shape, kudos to the ground crews. The greens are smooth and roll true. This is one of the best values in OC.

Played 9/12. The course is in playable condition and it looks as if they are trying to get some of the fairways back to normal so you will see a lot of roped off areas. The greens are rolling true though some are a little bumpy. They are offering great email specials if you are on their list.

Played 9/14, greens have recovered and are back to their normal play. The course is a little brown in spots but recovering nicely. As usual, the greens keepers are doing a phenomenal job of keeping this course in great shape. The clubhouse guys and gals were phenomenal as usual. Get out there and play!

Have not played but the course is looking pretty sad because of the recent heat wave. They have overseeded and it is cart path only until the 22nd.

Played 6/9. The greens have recovered from the recent punching (exclamation can be removed) but are still a little bumpy which is normal. The fairways are a little dry so the ball runs a little bit more off the tee. POP was excellent as was the staff.

Played for the first time on 6/4. The course is in great shape from tees to greens. If players would repair the greens and rake the traps it could be much nicer. The greens are what is going to get you...there are subtle breaks so you must pay attention. The POP was okay at 4.5 hours, but should have went faster.

Played over Memorial weekend in the am. Definitely a course where some local knowledge would help out. The greens are tricky and two of the holes #9 and #13 were verrrrry long par 4's. As we played in the morning, there was some sogginess to some of the fairways. POP was just over 4 hours.

That's it for any criticism. This is one of the most enjoyable public courses I have played. If you are up in the area do not pass this course by.
