I like this course despite some areas being in need of maintenance. Greens bumpy and greens do not hold good iron shots as they should but good challenging course. It is worth detour if going towards San Diego.

Play frequently since retired military and normally pace of play is ok unless they have non-military sponsored tourney. New club house but money on course renovations could have been better spent on reseeding course with better quality grass- but government goes with low bidders and you can tell. They jacked prices up to pay for contractor mistakes.

Only play when going out to Palm springs area. Management needs to offer discounts on weekday since not much play and what a waste. Staff is less friendly than expected and slow play at par 3's. Course ususlly in good shape but with hot weather maintenance has slipped below normal.

Great course and very golfer friendly but way out in desert and long drive. Only worth effort when weather nice but not when it is hot. Course recently has grass fungus problem but they will deal with it. Nice practice facilities and frendly staff but new staff has done away with golf tourney with giveaways that brought in many from far away. Do not like all the houses being built around course.

Good value on weekdays but very slow play always when busy. Hate the course grass; they need to reseed trhe entire course and make greens reward good shots.

They wasted alot of money on renovation of course and then jacked the green fees up to pay for their mistakes. Play is very slow and service poor.

Not worth the money and service was poor. Do not recommend unless you like the area. Course in fair shape.

Nice course and easy to play but resort course much nicer. Long drive for average course.

Typical desert course with nothing remarkable but missed ace by 4 inches.

Played course before Trump took over and after and only real difference is the new holes, driving range and large increase in green fees.

Played Black Gold and was disappointed in the firm nature of the greens. The greens were fine for putting but good short and long iron shots were not rewarded. Hit a several lob wedges next to the pin but had 20 foot putts. The green fees are high for what you get.

My Golf Buddy convinced me to return and play the Valley course. It was more enjoyable since we got out early and the course was more to my liking than the Mountain course. The rough is brown on both courses but fairways and greens were in great condition. Selecting the right club based on the wind is the key to playing both Robinson Ranch courses.
