played on masters sunday....teed off at 2:15 and finished at 6:20...didn't wait on any hole...everyone else was watching masters, apparently...

anyway, course is in terrific shape...ive been here about half a dozen times over the past year or two, and it was the best ive seen it...fairways are lush, bunkers have good sand, greens roll true, but aren't too fast or too firm, and dont have a lot of ball marks...they are fully back from aeration

course is in pretty good shape...fairways, tee boxes, and bunkers are great...rough in a few areas is a bit thin, but otherwise, the repairs that they have done have been pretty good

the one complaint i have about this place is that the regulars dont fix their stupid ball marks (and fairway divots, to a lesser extent)...its pretty annoying, especially for a course of this price...i repaired at least two every hole, and there were plenty more to be found...its a shame, because otherwise, the speed and firmness of the greens are perfect...firm but not too firm, fast but not too fast

overall, course is in pretty good shape...fairways are perfect...greens are soft and spongy...too soft for my taste, and running kind of slow...rough is pretty long in spots, so keep it in the short stuff...

the only real complaint i have about this course is the bunkers...they are hard packed and filled with little pebbles

as for the course itself, it is a straight up course...nothing too special about it...none of the holes are terribly memorable, either

course is in terrific shape...fairways are perfect...greens are smooth and fast (but not too fast), just the way i like them...everything else is in good shape, except the one bunker i was in had hard sand...which i guess is to be expected...there had been some sprinkles in south county...

as for the course...almost a tale of two nines...the front winds through some housing, and is defended by tons of bunkers...the back goes through an arroyo of sorts, and is much more difficult...there are several forced carries, and course knowledge is a definite must...too bad that in order to have some course knowledge, you need a fat bank account, as this place is pricey on weekends...

played friday as a single...the course was pretty empty, as a tournament had just finished, according to the person in the pro shop

course is in great shape...a few of the fairways have brown patches, but it doesnt affect playability

there are some great views on this course, and it is fun to play...the tee box on the 18th is nuts...i love it! i hit my best drive of the day on 18...

as with all courses, having played the course previously will help...there are some holes where the correct play isnt obvious off the tee

will definitely be back...i just wish it was a bit closer to home

played this course for the first time last friday...finished 15 holes after starting at 4:10, which is not bad at all

the only problem with this course right now is the greens...its been a couple weeks since aeration, but they are still on the way back...they are still sandy and bumpy and slow, which is kind of annoying...

other than that, everything else at this course is great...the fairways are in terrific shape, as is the rough...tee boxes and traps are fine, as well

also, the views on the back nine are great...i dont care too much for the front nine, necessarily, but the back nine is gorgeous

i live maybe two minutes from this course, but dont play it that often...maybe i should

this place is a good deal at $44...granted they are renovating some holes, so right now you play 1-7, 1-18, and then 1 and 2 again for your 18....but still, it is a good deal

as for the course, it is not the longest course by any means at 6252 from the tips, but you gotta keep it straight...the deep rough here is maybe 6-8 inches thick, maybe more in some places...and bunkers are well placed, and there is trouble if you miss on a lot of holes

great conditions right now...most of the greens are in terrific shape...a couple have some poorly repaired ball marks, but otherwise they are fine...firm and on the fast side

right now, the fairways are not "lush" lush...not thin, but not lush...it would have helped if i could make good contact, too

played this course for the first time yesterday...wow what a drive...it is no picnic getting out there from orange county

anyway, to the review....the course is in terrific conditions...the conditions of the fairways were just about the best of any course i had ever played...same goes for tee boxes and rough...sand traps were in great shape too...soft, fluffy sand...

some of the greens on the front nine had been recently sanded, it seems, but they were still fast and rolled true

the greens here are 1) very fast...definitely stay below the hole, or you are looking at an easy three putt...2) very firm...several times, i would hit decent irons into the greens, and they would run all the way back off the green, and finally 3) very tricky...it is hard to get a judge on the break on several of them...there is definitely some "mountain break" on holes near the hills, too...

the color of the greens are not super "green", but which greens are this time of year? at least they are fast and roll true, and you cant ask for much more than that

as for the play of the course, it is a difficult course...hit it straight, or you will find yourself looking for your ball all day in the native grasses...you have to hit it high to hold the greens, but you also have to hit it low because of the windy conditions...and if youre going to miss, make sure you miss to a safe spot, or you will put up some ugly numbers out here

conditions pretty much the same as last time i played here...pretty good but not great...

the one thing i have to say about this course is that pace of play was slooooow...pace is never good here, but this time was the worst by far...our tee time was 12...we teed off at 12:10 or later...we finished 16 holes by 5:20...just unbelievable and unacceptable...on some holes, there were three groups backed up...what in the world the marshals were doing that day, i have no idea

people need to play on the proper set of tees for their skill level...if this means playing off the reds, then yes, play off their reds...

right now, only the front nine is open, since they're doing work on the back

a rather plain course...all the hole are fairly straight and look the same...no doglegs, elevation changes, risk/reward elements, etc. to speak of...your typical muni course

greens are in pretty good condition...they roll smooth, for one...not much ball mark damage i could see...also, they were very soft (maybe because of all the rain)...even 40-60 pitch shots left ball marks...yet, they were not slow, either...medium speed

my main complaint about this course is the grass on the fairways and rough...the grass cover is not the best...every hole has brown patches and/or dead patches and/or bare spots...and they have two different types of grass growing out there two, one of them being that d%mn kikuyu that i hate....

tee boxes and sand were acceptable

played saturday...all in all, course is in pretty good shape

not a long course, but lots of sidehill lies and undulations in the fairways and greens

greens were very fast...i'd say maybe an 10 or 11...wow, i dont know if it's that they were that fast to begin with, or that all the undulations played a part, but they were pretty fast...i dont remember them being that fast here last time, but yeah...didnt want to be above the hole...one complaint i have here is that there are a lot of undulations in the green...some are just ridiculous

fairways are decent...some spots are better than others, but its pretty good overall...same with the rough...the one sand trap i was in had really nice soft sand

the biggest problem i have with this course is the pace of play...we started at 1, and we finished only 16, and thats only because the group in front left as the sund was going down...they gotta do something about the slow pace of play

played an early morning back nine before work today, so this review applies to holes 10-18 of the los lagos course

basically, i enjoyed it...fun middle of the road course...the "country club" is a misnomer, but its not as boring as your typical muni course either...not too easy, but not too difficult, either...worth the green fee...also, long hitters will score well on this course, as it is not very lengthy

to the pluses...the greens were in GREAT condition...they rolled very smooth, with very few ball marks or spike marks...they were firm, but not too firm, and medium-fast, just fast enough to roll true...in short, best greens i've seen on a course in their range of green fees...their greens are better than riverview's, which are a bit too soft and slow for my taste, despite their "reputation"

im not sure what the other reviews were saying about the bunkers being wet and muddy...i was in one bunker, on the 18, and the sand in there was fluffy and soft...too soft, maybe...i had a fried-egg lie...

the fairways and rough are decent...the grass on some holes are in better shape than others, which is pretty much like every golf course out there...what i did not like was the type of grass they used on their fairways and rough...im really not familiar with types of grass, but i believe it is kikuyu...its just personal preference, but i do not like this type of grass

one thing that stood out to me was the slow play...i dont know if it was always like this, but starting on my fifth hole of the day, i got caught behind three or four groups of slow golfers...by slow, i mean they were taking at least four shots to reach the green on pretty much every hole...to be fair, some of the players were elderly, so that could explain it...but if the course is always like this, i dont know if i would come here regularly

all in all...a fun course that is well worth the green fee
