Played Monday 10/8 @ 7:40am. PoP was 4:10. Course is in average shape. Lots of bare spots on the fairways and rough. Decent amount of divot damage on the greens. All in all, impressed with the pace of play but the conditions of the course have gone downhill in the last few years

Played yesterday Friday 10/5 @ 12:40. PoP was just under 4 hours. Even though the fairways are very dry, I did not have a bad lie all day. The greens were in great shape. The sand traps were also in good shape. Pace of play was awesome. We barely saw anyone in front of us or behind us.

I've lived in San Diego my whole life and I have to say that this course is in my top 5 ranking of all the courses in San Diego. I'm really shocked it only has 6.46 rating on GK.

Played Sunday 6/25 POP around 5H. I have no idea how this course is a 6.32 "Good" rating. I keep trying to like the course due to the challenging layout but I come away severely disappointed at the conditions every single time.

Tee Boxes: Sloped, tons of divots. Looked like the tees hadn't been moved in weeks.
Fairways: Only good part about the course. They were pretty nice.
Sand Traps: Cat litter. Horrible.
Rough: What rough? Tons of dirt spots everywhere
Greens: (I realize they went through a terrible stretch back in the day) The greens were spotty. Different types of grass growing on them. Downhill putts coming to an abrupt halt. Good shots not holding on the greens. I swear, all 3 of us were on the back of the greens all day. Just awful.

I would only recommend playing here if it's around $20-30. Other than that, don't waste your time or money.

Played Friday 6/23 POP 3h 45m. The greens were in the best shape I've seen them in awhile. Normally they never hold any shots but they were very receptive on Friday.

Everything from the Tee Boxes to the Greens were in great shape.

Played 10/22. PoP was a little under 5H due to "Cart Path Only." I found the course to be very fun and challenging. The fairways and bunkers stood out to me as being the best part of the course. The greens were running much slower than the La Quinta course which I found surprising.

I have 2 negative things to say about this (almost) perfect course. The practice green was running at about an 8 while the course was probably in the 11 range. That's a big no-no in my book (especially when green fees are $100+).

The other knock I had was that there were only 2 Par 3's and 2 par 5's. That is a first for me and a weird course design.

Played 10/21. My Dad and I decided to take a trip this weekend and we couldn't have picked 2 better courses to play (Played Indian Wells Celebrity 10/22). I thought everything was in amazing shape considering how hot it was out there. Most courses in San Diego are in shambles due to the heat but La Quinta was amazing. Everything from the tee boxes to fairways to green were in pristine condition. Will definitely play there again some day.

Played 8/30. Got the twilight rate of $40 w/ a cart which I thought was pretty reasonable since I started just after 12. The course was in pretty good condition. The Tee boxes were mostly level. The fairways were decent enough to have a clean lie. The rough seemed ok. Patchy grass with brown spots but with the drought, that is to be expected. Greens had a bit of damage to them but for the most part were still pretty good and rolled true.

Played 6/20 with my Dad and a good friend of ours for an early Fathers Day golf round. Got on for $135(twilight rate) at 9:25am which was a great deal. POP 4h 30m.

Everything about this course is amazing. The staff are super friendly, and the course is always in great condition. The greens were a little on the slow side today but they were consistent on every hole.

Unfortunately, our group fell behind on 8 due to all 4 of the guys in front of us going for the green in 2 on the par 5. We were told at the turn that we needed to speed it up a bit (even though the group was on the 11th tee box when we were on 10's fairway). The Marshall followed us on 10, which pissed everyone off in my group. Other than that, it was an enjoyable round.

Played Friday 5/29. POP was 4hrs 15m so not too shabby. Wanted to come out and play after reading another review about Vineyard a week or so ago.

Teeboxes: Were in good shape
Fairways: Very good
Rough: Surprisingly good for the drought we are supposed to be in.
Bunkers: A little hard for my taste but that's ok I guess for Fairway bunkers
Greens: They were excellent on the front 9. For whatever reason, the back 9 greens were super slow and I have no idea why. Frustrating back 9, putting wise.

Never saw a cart girl so that was frustrating. Other than that, an enjoyable round for a decent rate. Still pondering why the greens were so darn slow on the back 9...

Played over the weekend. POP 4.5 hrs for a Saturday which is pretty good. Conditions were really good.

Teeboxes: Very good.
Fairways: Best I've seen
Rough: They were really dry but with the drought, I don't really care if courses let the rough go.
Bunkers: Fluffy sand.
Greens: Greens were in great shape.

If you haven't played this course, you must come down and try it out. This course is not only fun to play but the scenery around the course is fantastic. You also pay $35-40 (Walking) whether you are a SD resident or not.

Played in a tournament 5/1. POP 4.75 hrs. Course was in fantastic shape as always. The teeboxes were lush, the fairways were nice, and the greens rolled true. Can't rate the rough or sand traps since it was a 4-man scramble but they looked good from what I could see.

By far, one of my favorite courses in San Diego. A must play for anyone in the area!

Played 4/24 @ 9:30. $150 underpar deal. POP 4.5 hours. This course is phenomenal. I've been fortunate enough to play here at least once a year going on about 10 straight years. I highly recommend looking for Underpar deals or other deals as the rack rate is pretty steep.

Unfortunately, my Dad and I could only play yesterday together and of course the weather was rainy. It was still a great day regardless. The course drains pretty well and there weren't too many puddle spots.

No need to review the teeboxes, fairways or greens etc. as they are all amazing, as always. The service is also out of this world.
