Played here 8/22/2010 around 2 PM. The improvements to the tee boxes and the course seem to be complete. Still some work being done on the restrooms near the 18th tee box. Fairways and tee boxes were alright. Bunkers were in great condition but did not spend too much time in them. The greens could use a bit of work. Patches of the greens are starting to wear out and makes it pretty tough to make longer putts. Pace of play was about 4 and 1/2 hours but this is probably slightly faster because of the heat scaring a lot of people away. Only saw the marshall once and wish they would make sure that people would play from the right tee boxes. This could help the most with pace of play here. For the area, the price makes it worth it to play here.

First time playing here on 6/22/2008. Interesting layout with many elevation changes and a few blind shots factoring into course management. Definitely a course that requires a bit of local knowledge to play well. Greens were in great condition, a bit bumpy but overall pretty fast. Tee boxes and fairways could use some work. Bunkers really need an overhaul. Not much good sand in there and a lot of clumpy dirt. Pace of play was very slow on the back nine, stretching it out to about a 5.25 hr round. Would probably come back on a cooler day when its less crowded.

Played here on 4/12 in the morning on Presidio/Mission. Course is in fairly good shape and the greens seem to be healing well after a recent aeration. They are rolling true and fast but still receptive to approach shots. Main gripe with this course is how close all the holes are together, especially on Presidio. Managed to play as a foursome in just under 4 1/2 hours.

Played here on 3/24. Greens had been aerated the week before, but getting back into fairly good shape with watering from the greenskeepers. Greens were very receptive to approach shots. Fairways were fairly firm and in OK shape. Some work was being done on tee boxes 1&10. Took about 4.75 hours which was not too bad considering the number of people on the course. Sand traps were in good shape, just wish people would rake them better after hitting out of them. In the bunker in front of the green hole 15, I had to hit out of a two or three inch deep footprint. Look forward to playing here again in the near future after the greens fully heal. A great value for people in the area.

Played here Sun. 3/9 trying to find a quick place to play before I left SD. Tecolote Canyon GC is basically an 18 hole executive course. They try to put way too many people out at the same time on this course and too close together. Many beginners trying to play on a course with decent difficulty off the tee on most of the holes. The foursome ahead of us was incredibly inconsiderate and was spending too much time reading putts, searching for balls, and not playing ready golf. They finished THREE holes behind the people in front of them and would not let us play through. A round that should have been done in 3.5 hours took over 4.5 hours!! No marshal on this course at all! As for the course: Greens were in good shape here. Nobody fixes their divots here though. Probably fixed five a hole. Firm and somewhat fast. Fairways on the par 4 and rough were a bit worn. Tee boxes were HORRIBLE. No sand in the divots and grass was very sparse. I will NOT be playing here again.

Played here Sat 3/8. Customer service was very friendly and helpful throughout the day. Our group started slightly behind our tee time but the pace of play was good (4.5 hours) for the area. Saw cart girl and "course ambassador" multiple times. Unique layout with many holes utilizing large elevation changes. Overall course conditions were great. Fairways in good condition. Greens were smooth and in great condition. Would definitely play here again!

Played morning 3/3. Weather report said windy in the morning and dying off in the late afternoon the night before and boy it was WRONG. About six holes into the round, consistent 15 mile hour winds. At the turn, winds picked up to almost 30 mph with gusts above 40 mph. Truly a different experience to play in such windy conditions. Course conditions were great. Fairways were firm providing a lot of roll of drives. Greens firm and fast, which made it impossible to keep the ball on the green with approach shots or even some putts in such windy conditions. Missed five footers had the potential to be blown off the green by wind gusts. Love the course, hate the wind. Finished the round in under 4 hours. Definitely will be back when it is less windy.
