Played with Bahrooz today. I would like to add that I loved this course. It is in great shape. The fairways are lush, the rough is "rough" and the greens were in pretty good shape. I was in the bunker a few times today and would rate them above average. The layout is challenging. There are a number of dogleg holes that make playing very interesting. The tee boxes were in good shape. I play the LA City courses often and I would say that El Dorado is in better shape than any of them. I will definitely be back.

My friend and I played today and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. I went expecting the worst after reading the recent reviews. We tee'd off 10 minutes late or so, so I thought we were in for a 6 hour round. The pace of play actually picked up after about 5 holes. Our round lasted about 4hrs and 45 mins. Not a great pace, but not horrible and certainly nothing to cry about. The course was also in pretty good condition. I play the LA City courses regularly and the course conditions at Westridge are slightly better. The fairways and the sandtraps were above average. I thought the tee boxes and the greens were in even better shape. I didn't find too many unfixed ball marks on the greens. I like the course layout. I thought it was challenging and interesting. I will certainly be back to play during the middle of the week.

Wow, what a miserable experience. Last night I received an email from the course offering a deal where you get a cart for $7.50 if you play after 12:00 pm. I made a reservation for two for 12:13 pm. We arrived at the course at 11:45 or so. We were told that they were running about 10 minutes late and that they would call us into pro shop when they were ready. After not hearing anything at 12:30, I decided to walk into the pro shop and check on our status. I was told that we could pay now, but we were 5th up. I asked if we could pay the twilight rate since it was very likely that we would not tee off until 1 pm or so. I was told that the rate that I payed ($40.50: $33 walking rate plus $7.50) was better than the twilight rate. They said it was a $.50 difference. As I was sitting in our cart behind 8 carts, I talked myself into walking back into the pro shop because that couldn't possibly be right. I was right. They should have charged me $29.50. I was told that we could get a refund of the difference after we finished playing. Fair enough. As we are waiting in line we realize that a threesome is playing in front of us, we were going to go off as a twosome and there were two sets of threesomes behind us. On our own initiative, we invited two people from the threesomes to play with us. We decided to help the pace of play since pro shop didn't seem very interested.

So we finally tee'd off at 1:05 pm, merely 50 minutes later than scheduled. From the 2nd to the 9th tee box, we were always third in line. We would watch two groups tee off before us on every hole. It took us 3 hours to play nine holes. On the tenth hole, the two guys we were playing with decided to play holes 1-9 again hoping to get more holes in that way. We caught a twosome in front of us on the 11th hole and they invited us to join them. Chatting with them they tell us that they were scheduled to tee off at 12:20, but tee'd off around 12:50. How in the world did they tee off ahead of us if we were scheduled to tee off before them?! We ended up completing 13 holes in 4 hours and 15 minutes. What a nightmare. When we walked back into the pro shop and asked for the difference that was owed to us, they offered to give us a free golf cart the next time we played. We politely let them know that we would never be back. After much confusion, we were given reimbursed the difference that was owed to us.

...about the course, it is a very nice and challenging layout. It is a bit dry...more dry than the LA City course that I am used to playing. But I liked the course over all. Too bad it is managed very well. I will stick to the LA City courses.
