Played on 11/27/22. Course is overall in very nice shape. The greens were as fast as I've ever seen them at Goose, close to country club speed and overall generally smooth and putts held their line. Only negative is a few greens had some damage on them, maybe fungus? Obviously they kept pins away from those areas but it was noticeable. Frost issue so they reversed the 9's so that was a little different playing 18th hole as 9th hole for the day. Also, hit a couple muddy patches off fairways and greens. I'm totally nitpicking though as this overall is 1 of the best run public courses in SoCal.

Went out to play on 8/6/22. Got out as a single at 6am, and played thru 1-2some and a 4-some on the back 9, and finished in about 2 1/4 hours so obviously no pace of play issues for me.

I've played here 2 other times and really love the place. They truly are trying to make this course about fun with zero golf pretentiousness. I love showing up here to play in my favorite T Shirt, non golf hat etc.

There were some good and not so good about the course this time out. Starting with the good, the recent updates to some of the traps are really looking cool - fortunately I stayed out of all of them on this day. But some of the pot bunkers are really cool looking. The greens ran smooth on most greens. Unfortunately, there were a lot of unrepaired ball marks on many greens. I think this course brings out a lot of casual and newer players - maybe not a bad idea to educate these people before they start rounds on proper care for greens? Fairways were in good shape generally. Tee boxes were not always level, but I was able to find a flat lie to hit from always. I would never expect this place to be perfect in that respect.

I did watch a YouTube video on the course before playing and its probably not a bad idea if you aren't with a local. There's a few holes where its really hard to tell what green/pin you're aiming for. I made that mistake where I hit my best approach of the day to a few feet, only to realize I aimed at the wrong pin on shared green. Doh!

Got out at the RP today, and really enjoyed it. The course is in pretty nice shape by Rancho standards. The tee boxes are fairly level except for a few, the fairways are in great shape, and the greens are rolling about medium speed and are fairly smooth. One thing about playing early morning here, I'd say the course plays at least a club longer than later in the day. The fairways have been heavily watered overnight and you just don't get much roll. Throw in the early morning cool overcast heavy air, and you're going to be hitting a lot of long irons and woods into greens - at least I was.

Played 5/28/12. First time here and enjoyed my round. The course was in very good condition overall. Fairways were well manicured, greens were smooth, and traps were nice. I did have a tough time reading the speed of these greens however. they looked like they should be fast but they were actually much slower than they look. the layout is a parkland style and fairly generous off the tee. they were aerating tee boxes so we did play some tees off the white pads, and some tee boxes weren't as flat as you'd hope, but that's about as nit picky as I can be.

Fun round at legend trails. Itnteresting desert layout that requires accurate driving from the back tees. We had about a 3 club wind going at times. The greens have been recently aerated so that was a bit disappointing but the rest of the course conditions made up for it. Only criticism if your carts don't have gps you need to give players hole layouts. We had nothing so frequently had to guess where to hit it. Overall however its a fun layout with great views.

Played 36 on 4/19/12. Pretty much can echo the comments of everyone else who has played recently, the course is in great shape. This without question is one of the best run public golf facilities in southern cal. Yes, they do have a bit of a cart shortage right apparently due to the fact they are getting all new carts in a few weeks. That said, its a fairly flat course, and an easy walk for 18, we only wanted a cart for the 2nd 18. The greens yesterday were as fast as I can remember playing here so I mixed in a few bombs with a few 3 putts. Was able to par the diabolical 18th into a 2 club wind to finish our 36 yesterday. Can't think of a better way to finish a great day of golf.

We played Sunday, 2/27. We were the 3rd group out, and finished in under 4 hours. The course is in decent shape with the greens and greenside bunkers being the best thing about the course, and the tee boxes being the worst. The greens rolled very nicely with good speed. The tee boxes are kind of a mess with lots of bare patches and unevenness in many spots. The fairways are about what you would expect for mid-Feb on a muni. Harding is generally a fun layout with some interesting diverse holes.

Played here today. I played this course about 4 or 5 years ago, and unfortunately, not as nice as I remember it. Apparently it has recently changed ownership so I suppose there's hope. Nothing awful, but also nothing as nice as it once was which is too bad as its a nice layout, and the greens are challenging to hit with most being well guarded by front bunkers. Today the course was very soggy from watering, the fairways a bit thin, tee boxes a bit uneven, and bunkers missing adequate sand. The greens were mostly smooth but with some damage noticeable. Lets hope this course regains its former form.

Played this morning, 10/21/11. The course is generally in pretty decent shape. When I saw the report that they aerated half the greens about a month ago and the other half a week ago, I assumed that meant something like they aerated the front nine, and then the back nine. Nope, they literally aerated one half of each green, then waited 3 weeks before aerating the other half. Actually, it works out pretty well. The greens are large enough that they keep the pins in the recovered green areas. And those areas rolled nicely today.

Haven't played here for a while but not much has changed. We were 3rd group out, and played in about 4.5 hrs, but tough to play much faster when they throw everyone out in fivesomes. Only other negative is some of the bunkers were a little inconsistent, and some a bit mushy from getting watered too much. Fairways and tee boxes were pretty good overall.

Played 36 great holes of golf here 4/20/11. I always enjoy the golf at Rustic. I enjoy the nuance to this course. Now that I've played it over a dozen times, I feel pretty comfortable with where I need to hit it, and where I had better not hit it. It's that kind of course, which is pretty rare for a public course. Overall the course was in usual Rustic condition - the greens were a tad bumpier than normal, but looks like they are about to punch so I'm sure that may have something to do with it.

Played yesterday. First the good, the greens were generally in fairly nice condition, and ran medium to fast. The bad? Fairways area mess, bald and muddy in many spots, or very thin. Winter rules are a must on these babies. Hopeful it's all due to the recent weather, and with better weather, they'll get better, but right now it's not pretty. Tee boxes and bunkers were average by muni standards. We got out early and finished in a little over 4, but it doesn't seem like anyone is out monitoring play, so I'd be concerned about pace of play if I was teeing it up later. Right now at $60 to walk on the wkend, this doesn't seem like a great value with these conditions.

played on 12/29/10 in some very wintery conditions. that said, the course was in very good condition. like the layout of the front 9 much more than back nine. It's not an overly difficult desert style layout. Having some course knowledge is helpful. Carts have gps which is nice. There were probably 6 groups total on the course the day we were out there due to the nasty weather, so we were surprised to have a cart girl out there our entire round. this course also has a nice practice facility. I like the course but only if I can play at a discounted rate. It's not worth the full fare for non residents in my opinion. Due to the lack of players, we played our rd in 3 and half hours - made it worth dealing with the weather.
