This is the first time I have played this track in South(ish) Denver. First with the not so awesome. When we got there, we had an extra cart due to a rider. The starter was throwing a fir that we took a cart not in line with the carts set out for tee times even though the pro shop personnel told us to when we paid for the extra rider. I don't know the dude's name but he was less than polite even after we told him we were following the directions of the pro shop personnel. The course is adamant about pace of play which is really nice. However, we waited on every shot on the group ahead of us as they were struggling. When the marshal came along, he informed us we were several minutes behind. We pointed out that we were waiting on the group visibly in our range. He told us they would be quitting after 9 and we needed to hurry up. Total d-bag. We encountered another marshal on the back 9 and he told us we were about 5 minutes behind. I explained to him we had been held up by the previous group and he said "no problem, just have fun". All in all customer service wasn't what I would have expected. As far as the course, it is really fun to play and challenging. It was in great shape and for the most part all out in front of you. The greens rolled really nice and were really fast, which I like. You definitely need to be below the hole. I really liked the course but not sure if I will be back due to the customer service.

I played Four Mile Ranch yesterday, Aug 5, 2018. The course is exactly like the previous reviews. Tee to green it is in amazing shape. They apparently have some sort of watering rights and are able to maintain the course. It is green and lush throughout. If I had to pick a word to describe it, quirky would be it. The greens have multiple "bowls" and will a lot of times reward off line or even bad shots by funneling them back in the direction of the hole. However, there are some greens with a hogs back and if you are on the wrong side a three putt is likely in your future. The driving range has a really nicely manicured grass hitting area to a desert landing area. The putting green is very accurate to the rest of the course's greens. Lots of terrain change and the speed is very close. My pieces of advice are this: Get a yardage book from the starter and read the advice on each hole. You won't hit driver often, maybe hole 16 and definitely 18. There are very wide landing areas if you hit to them and not through them. Also, there are a lot of blind shots into the greens. If you aren't being pushed, drive up to the green and see what you are hitting at. Shots over the berms generally have the green right behind it without much if any room to miss on any side of the generous sized greens. Like the previous reviews said, you will either love the course or hate it. Either way, it is always in amazing shape.

You can't go wrong playing any of the Paiute courses. The driving ranges are immaculate, wide with a lot of targets. The course was in amazing shape. The tee boxes weren't chewed up and there weren't any divots to speak of in the fairways. The greens were very receptive and the ball stopped easily. The greens were a little on the slow/medium side. They said the greens were rolling at about an 11 but they seemed a little slower to me. Nonetheless, they rolled true and smoothly. The sand was nice although I was only in one greenside bunker. The two fairway bunkers I hit out of were in great shape. The pace a play was steady, we only waited on the drivable par 4 10th and one par 3 near the end of he round. Also, there are water jugs every 3 holes or so which isn't automatic on Vegas courses. I would definitely play the Sun course or any of the Paiute courses in a heartbeat.

I try to play the Rio Secco at least once every summer I am out here if not more. The is a challenging yet very playable track that everyone should experience. During the summer, there are discounted rates from Sunday through Thursday.

The staff at Rio Secco on every visit has been nothing short of amazing. The folks in the pro shop, the cart attendants, starters etc have never been anything short of accommodating and amazing.

The fairways are really wide and forgiving. On the occasion when they ball misses, the rough is easy to get your club through but the stance will definitely be impacted. You will likely have the ball several inches above your feet and will have to account for that one your second shot. The greens rolled quick and true. They held pretty well on approach shots as well chips shots into the green.

This is a great course and although challenging, it's very playable. You won't need driver on every hole, there are plenty of times where a long iron or 3 wood will do the trick. If the wind kicks up as it tends to in the afternoon, you will definitely have your hands full when picking a club to hit into the green. There were times today when I had to add three clubs to a shot directly into the wind.

The only two things I wish they would change here are there are no water jugs on the course. The other is the artificial turf on the driving range. There isn't a lot of room on the grassy area so you have to hit irons off a long matt. It's pretty beat up and there aren't any flat areas to hit from.

If you get a chance, give Rio Secco a shot if you haven't already.

Arroyo at Red Rocks is a pretty nice track located in southwest Vegas. It sits right next to a private club and as it turns out, they share the same practice facility.

This is a pretty straight forward track with nothing hidden. Even from the tips, there isn't anything tricky about this course and it doesn't play anywhere near the 6900 yards on the scorecard. The fairways are really wide and forgiving with little to no divots. The greens are pretty large and fairly receptive. They rolled true and quick with maybe a half a cup of break away from the mountains and toward the strip.

The pace of play was really nice. I went out alone and they got me out about 45 minutes early and I finished in around 3 hrs.

I was in quite a few greenside bunkers and the sand was pretty nice to hit out of. One of the traps felt damp without much sand and the ball still came out nice.

All in all, this is a fun track in a really nice part of town. It's in great shape with water coolers on every 2 or 3 holes. I would definitely play this course again. The only thing that was at all confusing was the wind. I don't know if its always blowing like it did today but the prevailing west winds mentioned on their website definitely need to be accounted for.

I played the Lexington a couple of months ago and wanted to try out it's sister course Revere. This is an excellent track that plays a lot different than Lexington. This is a course that rewards putting the ball in the fairway. The greens are slippery fast but you aren't penalized so much for hitting into the wrong part of the green.

I got to the course a little over and 1 1/2 hr early and the starter got me out as soon as I was ready as a single. I was paired up with another single and we eventually paired with the twosome that was behind us. Unfortunately, there were twosomes intermixed with foursomes so the pace of play was 4 - 4 1/2 hrs. Several of the fairways were aerated recently and the course did an amazing job of clearing all of the plugs. I rarely saw any and when I did, it was in the rough. The first hole starts with a severe downhill shot. A long iron will leave you close to the 150 stake with an easy approach into the green. The next several holes go out and back. There is a hazard that will be along the right side for most of the rest of the front nine with a severe slope off the left side of the fairway. The front side will definitely reward a right handed golfer that can hit a draw. If you cut the ball you may be flirting with trouble on many tee shots on the front 9.

The back nine is a lot more forgiving off the tee as many of the holes funnel the ball back to the fairway on both sides. The two par 3s from the tips will each play about 225 even though they are downhill. Both par 5s are reachable with a solid drive. When you get to 18, aim over the right edge of the left fairway bunker and give it all you can. There is a hill that is a ways out there but if you carry it to the hill, you can get your drive out to almost 400 yards. Yes 400 yards. The hole is about 550 from the tips and three of the 4 of use were within 5 - 10 yards of the 150 stake for our second shot.

I don't think you can go wrong with this course. It's really playable and from the tips isn't too long. I don't think I had anything longer than a 5 iron into any of the par 4s. I did hit driver on most of the par 4s with the occasional long iron when I wasn't as confident with the big dog and still had manageable shots into the green.

Definitely give both the Revere courses a try, they are fun and in amazing condition.

I try and play this course once or twice a year when I am in Vegas as it's generally fun and in decent shape. Today was about the norm. The fairways were in pretty good shape and really short. Although there were a few bare spots throughout the round I never had any suspect lies. The rough varied. It was either barely longer than the fairway to a couple of inches long. The greens are what usually bring me back. They aerated recently and the front 9 was a little sandy and putted noticeably slower than the back 9.

The starter let me go out as a single about 30 minutes before my tee time and I finished in 3 1/2 hours. That includes waiting on virtually every shot after the 4th or 5th hole and joining up with the threesome in front of me on the back 9.

This is a decent track to play but I would only play here during the summer. You can get a pretty good rate from online tee times but I do fee it is overpriced during the winter for the nonresident rates.

When the greens are healed up they will be a lot better. Although they rolled true, they were just slow today. If you do play here, only play about half as much break as you read.

Cheers.

I played here a few years ago and remember having a tough time with the course. Since I have improved, I wanted to give this course another try. The customer service in the pro shop and the starter were both really nice and helpful. The starter told me I could either go out by myself early or wait and get paired up with someone.

The practice range is one of the better ranges in Las Vegas. I once came here to practice only and bags of balls are $25 for approx. 40-50 balls each. I thought they were kidding but they weren't. However, practice balls are included in your round and there wasn't any problem with taking two bags.

The pace of play for the first several holes was amazing. I didn't think many people would be out in the afternoon on a holiday but I was wrong and ended up waiting on every shot from the 7th hole on. There wasn't anywhere to go as I could see groups ahead and playing through would only mean waiting again. I never once saw a marshal. Even with waiting, I was able to finish in less than four hours.

Tee to green this course was in really great shape. The in cart GPS was within a yard or two of my sky caddie. There weren't many divots on the fairways and the tee boxes were for the most part well kept. The greens had several brown ball marks but the greens rolled a lot better than they looked. They were deceptively fast when chipping. The few greens I did hit in regulation held pretty well. On many of the greens, there are false fronts and would result in the ball spinning back off the green.

This is the only TPC course I have ever played and although it's a really nice course in a great part of town, it's not one of my must play courses in Vegas. I just doesn't seem to fit my eye all that well even though I played decently well. I would play it again but only after exhausting a few other options in town.

The one tip I was given is on hole 14, aim at the church steeple and hit a long iron or 3 wood as the canyon that runs along the right side of the hole winds through the fairway in front of the green.

What an amazing course.

If you get the chance to play this track, by all means take advantage of it. This is one of the best courses I have played in Las Vegas and I wish I had played it sooner. It can be a bit pricey but the late afternoon summer rates makes it a lot more affordable.

The driving range itself is a bit odd. As there isn't a lot of extra space on the strip, they have built a hitting cage with about ten bays and 30 or so yards deep. It's long enough that you can at least get an idea of what the shot would look like. There are also ceiling fans above each bay. The hitting surface is turf and as far as mats go they are nice but I am not a fan of hitting off mats.

Since I was a single, the starter offered to let me go off the back 9 since there were a couple of foursomes that had just gone off the front. To me, the things that make the difference between a good course and a great course are things like level tee boxes, plenty of drinking water, comfort stations and this course had it all. The tee boxes were nicer than a lot of fairways and weren't torn up. Even the par 3's weren't full of divots. The fairways were generous and there were hardly any divots. This course is set up like any other resort course. On each side of the fairway, there are mounds that help bring the ball back into the fairway. The greens roll exactly like the practice green. They are pretty fast and roll exactly like you read them. They aren't so fast that you will putt it off the green but you won't have any trouble getting the ball to the hole. They are really receptive and hold great.

The best piece of advice I could offer is to pay attention to the elevation changes into the green on your approach shot. It will definitely make the hole play a half club longer. This course plays about 7,000 yards form the tips and plays every bit of it. I hit almost every club in my bag. Some holes were driver wedge and then some were driver 5 iron. It's a great track and I definitely want to play it again soon.

This is and has been one of my all time favorite courses. If you like a challenge, spectacular views of the mountains and a course that will challenge you mentally as well as your physical game, this is it. This is a true shot makers track.

This course is a beast to play if you haven't seen it before as there is a lot of course knowledge to be had from tee to green. For instance, the only time I would recommend pulling driver out of the bag is on both the par 5s on the front 9. The rest of the course, to include both par 5s on the back especially, require accuracy and precision off the tee. This definitely is not a driver-wedge course.

Tee to green this course is in amazing shape from early in the season and throughout the summer. The fairways aren't torn up with divots and the greens roll at a decent pace and true. They aren't lightening fast but definitely not slow either. Pay attention to the subtle changes in elevation as holes will play a half club longer/shorter depending on the hole.

The switched the front and back 9 a couple of years ago so if you have a GPS device they may still be reversed. If you live in the area, this is definitely a course worth playing. If you are traveling to the front range, this is an amazing track that isn't over crowded and should definitely be high on your list of prospects to play.

If you are going out and haven't seen this track before, message me and I will send you my thoughts on how to manage your way around this wonder track.

I have played a lot of the courses in Vegas and am trying to play them all. I had seen Rhodes Ranch on a previous trip out here and decided it would be the next track I played. My tee time was for 2:30 and the starter told me I could get out early if I wanted and got out about 30 minutes early.

The driving range, at least the day I played, was on mats only. There is a decent sized grass area that did have some divots but I don't know if it is available on other days. The course itself was really green and I could see while driving up to the course on a couple of holes the sprinklers were on watering the greens. The fairways were almost like carpet without a whole lot of divots and the few I did see were mostly filled in. The greens were very receptive. I did seem to find a fair amount of unrepaired ball marks on the greens. They rolled pretty smooth but I would gauge them a little bit on the slow side. I suspect it has to do with the insane heat and not cutting them too short to ensure they survive. Basically, you just need to get a feel for the speed and trust that they are not as quick as the look visually.

There really isn't anything hidden on this course as every hole is laid out right in front of you. Of the four par 5s, #5 and #15 are extremely reachable with a good drive. #9 is a man sized par five and I think par is a great score.

I played from the blue tees on this round and it didn't play long at all. This is in my opinion a course where you can hit driver as often as you like. I wouldn't categorize it as a difficult track at all and one that you could score really well on so long as you hot decent shots. Definitely not a course that requires a lot of precision but you can't get too loose on either.

My only negative is that there are no water jugs on the course. Although there are two bottles of water in the cart and I did see the beverage cart a couple of times, I managed to drink several bottles of water in addition to what was provided. You would think with summer temperatures being well over 100 degrees there would be water jugs throughout the course.

All in all a nice track that I will play again but not on my must play list.

I found a same day tee time from teeoff.com. I had previously tried to use golf now and when I got to the course they had no record of my tee time and wouldn't honor it despite showing them the reservation on my phone. I still really wanted to try both Revere courses out and am glad I gave them a second chance. First the only thing bad I can say about this round. When I got there and dropped off my clubs, they were put on a cart as well as someone who I was going to be paired up with. After checking in, I noticed this and asked if the driving range was within walking distance and was told it was a pretty good driving distance away. I asked if I could have another cart to take to the range as I didn't want to take off with a strangers clubs to go to the range. The young man that was checking in clubs seemed to be irritated by this and resistant to giving me another cart even after explaining this several times. Another employee grabbed the other set of clubs off the cart so I could go to the range.

On to the course and the round. Tee to green this course was in great shape and is laid out in front of you with the exception of hole 10. When you stand on the 10th tee box, I promise you there is a fairway out there, you just can't see it. Aim for the cart path and hit a long iron/hybrid and you will be ok. This track doesn't play long at all. My was going sideways right off the bat and I hit a 3 iron the rest of the day to include on the par 5s. I still was able to have a shot at one of them in 2 and the longest club I had into any green all day was a 7 iron. The biggest defense on this course is the greens. You absolutely have to land and stop the ball in the correct part of the green . The greens are really receptive and hold easily but have some serious elevation changes, sometimes a couple of feet. The greens rolled quick and true and were a joy to putt on.

I would absolutely play this track again but would like to try it's sister course. I think it's a course where you can put up a decent number but it will all come down to how well you roll the rock.
