Course continues to improve and the challenge remains solid; however, the bunkers need actual sand.

Great fast round on Sunday Afternoon.
Love the new bunkers; makes the course more challenging. Perfect course for a quick Sunday afternoon round.

Rancho is always slow, but usually in nice condition. Played on the last day of the year: 5 hours, decent fairways, some nice greens, some horribly infected greens, and nice sand. For what you pay, Rancho is okay for now. Stick to LA County courses.

Made the long trek down to South OC to play Monarch. Had a wonderful time. Played during the middle of the week. Almost no one on the course, but the service exceeded all expectations and experiences. Wonderful course with enough challenge for the serious golfer, but enough room and accomodation for the leisure golfer. Others complain about the price and the short length, but most of those guys have vivid delusions of granduer.

Played on Saturday, Feb. 9th. Paired with a fun father & son and had a wonderful time. A little slower than usual, but that had mostly to do with the hacker group in front of us. Course is in fabulous condition, save the rock hard bunkers with the confusing occasional soft spot. Driving range needs to move, as many stations allowed only to practice your hard-pan and dirt play. Great service, great round. If cost is a concern, twilight starts earlier than most courses (12:30pm)

As my in-laws live on the course, I have played Sterling several times in the last few months. Tee Boxes have finally filled in, but the rough and greens remain in sub-par condition. To save the rough, Sterling should consider replacing carts with caddies as cart damage is severe. Most greens continue to play their regular super fast selves, but the last three greens remain thrashed. If you consider playing here, you might wait until the conditions improve.

Played Saturday afternoon, just before Twilight. Although the green fee drops almost 50%, I correctly guessed that I could get past the hoard and play a relaxing solo round. Greens obviously sanded recently, but remain playable. This is a short course, but great place to work on your game. Only real drawback were the tee boxes; many of them were uneven and lacked fill on par threes. Overall, a nice quick practice round.

Played on a Friday twilight. Nice course with decent price. Good pace, but beware the blind corners, tee shots, and approaches. We had slowpokes in front of us and jackasses repeatedly hitting on us from behind.

Tough, narrow course that seemed in the midst of repairs, in places. Creativity is required; which makes the course worth playing.

The only drawback at this course was the sand in the traps condition; even green side bunkers were firm and concrete-like.
Otherwise, this is a wonderful, imaginative course and worth the trip to Camarillo.

Played on a Weds. Always beware the wind; sometimes constant and driving, other times swirling, but always interesting.
Only thing missing on this day was a marshall to keep the pace flowing.

Nice and busy course. An easy round with some intriguing holes, but watch out for slow play and often hackers galore. Worth the inexpensive greens fee and definately a walking course.
