It’s been awhile since I played Silverrock. We played on Tuesday, 11/30/21 in the morning and the course was a bit wet in the front nine with some area. Greens appear not to be cut and wet. The back nine greens re much better than the front. The front nine twe boxes are a bit wet due to excessive watering. A bit disappointing that the range is closed for maintenance before 10A every Tuesdays. They should give the players discount for not having the range privilege. There are major construction all around the course. The area around the perimeter are fenced off. The noise of the construction equipments are quite disturbing with some dust flowing on some holes. There are lots of rude and unethical players on the day we played. I almost got hit twice; one while standing on our fairway and some player’s errand shot landed just 10 ft away. No call for “Fore” and, when the player came by and was told by us that his ball nearly hit us. He never apologized and gave us a dirty look. Must be the local. Another time, we drove across the bridge on hole 16 and our cart was hit on the side with another errand ball. No “Fore” call either. We mentioned these incidents to the cart guys but did not get any sympathy from them. For $145 greenfee, it’s not worth playing this course IMO.

This 2016's L.A. County Course of the Year sustained major setbacks due to heavy rains they had the last two weeks, not counting the epic storm this week. Front nine is in decent shape except for poor golfers' etiquettes that left almost all sand traps unraked. The back nine is totally different story. Fairways # 11, 13, 14 and 15 are severely damaged by excessive water which prevent the mowing. Weeds are growing rampage on these muddy fairways. The geeens were not maintained, super slow and full of unrepaired ball marks. Bunkers appear to be abandoned by maintenance and careless golfers and full of footprints. They should close the back nine and allow the course to heal. I played in December last year and it was in great shape. What a disappointment.

Played today in the afternoon and was quite disappointed at the conditions of the golf course overall. They didn't oversees the fairways and found them to be full of unrepaired divot holes. Greens were slow and super bumpy for not being cut for days. Overnight rain didn't help neither.

The pace of play for an early afternoon is atrocious. Takes theee hours to play the front nine. We ended up stop playing after 14 holes.

Their proshop undergone a major changes. They only carry two brand of apparels; Ogio and Matt Grey. Very strange collections indeed.

Played OQ last Friday. It's been over a year since I played there and couldn't believe how good the conditions of course are. Fairways are lush and greens with minimal bare spots. Greens are rolling well albeit a little slow due to heavy watering due to heat. The place of play was excellent, we are about 1/2 a hole behind the senior group played in front of us and finished our round in 4H 20 minutes. We took advantage of the course special from dealcaddy.com, $89 for twosome. Will definitely go back there again soon.

Played at 10:15A today. Hardly anybody there when we got there. With just the twosome, we finished our round in 3H and 25 minutes despite had to wait for a few minutes each hole on the back nine. The greens that normally smooth and semi fast are slow, grainy and bumpy. It's close to the time of the year when they usually punch and sand their greens. Fairways have several brown and bare spots caused by draught, extreme heat and lack of water. Aprons around the greens are hard and bare which make it extremely difficult to chip and pitch. Bunkers are thin on some holes. You are better off missing the green long or short than trying to hit a thin sand shot out of the bunkers.

The starter is great and courteous as usual.

Played in the tournament yesterday. Their greens roll fast and true. Greens are in best conditions in years I play this course and thy are as good as those at private golf courses.

Michael Miranda, the Tourn Director, is awesome and he made our event memorable. If you decided to play there, do join their express card club for excellent benefits including four free rounds and 10 small bucket of range balls. Not bad for $59 fee for the express card.

Got a chance to play this magnificent public course on Veterans' Day. The course is in great shape especially the greens which are hard and fast. We start at 8:40A and finished at 12:45P. For those who have not played this course before, try it. You will love the layout. It's a link style course with wide fairways and undulated greens that always in top shape.

Warning, as stated earlier, the greens are hard and fast. I suggest that you play about half a club less and allowing the ball to run toward the hole.

I booked our tee time online via their website.

Played today at noon. Conditions are ok for the muni. Pace of play was not too bad. Fairways are lush and green. The greens are, however, very slow, bumpy and quite grainy. The ocean view on some holes are breathtaking.

I am a member of IHMC since 1994 and quite disappointed at the conditions of the Babe course which usually is better than the more desirable Ike. Played there a few weeks ago and the front nine fairways and apron area were downright pathetic. Played with several guests of mine from the East coast and had to apologize to them for the poor conditions (The worst I experienced in 5 years). The greens were slow and bumpy. The back nine's conditions were much better. A few days before that, I played the Ike after a big tournament the day before, the fairways were full of unfilled divots, greens were slower than the Babe. Not a good day to be members of IH right now. I played Wilson GC at Griffith Park, a muni course owned by City of L.A., their greens, fairways and bunkers are impeccable. Definitely put my courses to shame... And their green fee is half of the IH.

The new greens were sodded to replace the old greens that were attacked by poana a few years ago. They were decently fast and roll pretty true. The fairways are immaculate with no sign of coot's droppings that caused major problems back in February. The bunkers, however, were not maintained or raked for at least a few days.

The general services are great as usual. Unfortunately, when we played in the tournament past weekend, they moved our group tee time up 10 minutes withoutletting us know in advance. The practice area was not open until 9A and that caused prblems when everyone showed up to hit balls around nine-ish, they weren't enough practice stations to accommodate all the players.

The double start (on #1 and #10) also caused a headache and frustration by many players in our group. Evidently, they expected us to finish the round in under 4 1/2 hours and ask their marshals to constantly harass us every 2-3 holes to get in the position. One of the marshal told us that we're out of the position 14 minutes when we tee off 10 minutes after our scheduled starting time. Some marshal was quite rude and obnoxious. After the turn, we ended up wating almost every hole for the group that tee off in front of us (Their #1 hole). The usual friendly services were replaced by obnoxious attitudes and sarcasm. What a shame! I hope MGM, the owner of the courses, realize that these aggressive practices (double starts) will diminish its customer service reputation. The proshop staff does not seems to care about our concern. It's a god courses but a the price we paid, the service should be much better!!

I love this golf course the first time I played a few years back even though it's quite a drive for me from my home. I usally played this golf course 3-5 times a year. The general conditions of this course are usually superb and always look forward to play this course whenever I'm in the area.

I played this course yesterday and to quite astonishing. The general conditions of the course were very poor. The tee-boxes are being aerated and sands but they were not the problem. Fairways that are usually lush and soft are bare in many spots. Seems like bunkers were not raked in days and full of footprints and rocks (Yes rocks!). They were very thin and hard. The usual hard and fast greens were replaced by soft and most of the time bumpy due to unrepaired ball marks. Players didn't care to fix the deep ball marks on the greens, what a shame! It cost me $37 to walk this course at 1P in the afternoon and considering the conditions mentioned, I think it's not worth the price I paid. It will be awhile before I play this course again. I rather play a little extra and go play Lost Canyons instead. It's too far to drive for this great layout but marginal conditions course. They do have major issue with severely and bare spots on fairways that caused by lack of proper maintenance and care. They try to do some patch-up work on these fairways but these area needed to be roped off from foot traffic.

In the past, I would drive 80 miles to play this fabulous layout golf course in spite of its distance and price. It used to be one of the best condition courses in San Diego area. Not any more, I was shocked to see the course in a stage of disrepairs. All tee boxes were damaged from poor maintenance. They lost the 18th green completely!! The sand traps don't have much sand in them and were not rake. The bunkers on #18 were just dirt!!! This course is becoming a "Cow Pasture!"

The customer service was very poor. They didn't inform me of their problems when I checked in and paid my green fee. I would play else where if I knew about the conditions. The pace of play was very poor. We were told my the starter to start on #10 because some of the Golden State Tournament players are still on the course. When we made the turn, there were five groups stack up on the first tee. Apparently, the starter went home and the later tee time were not told to start on #10. How stupid was that? We decided to skip the first hole and finished the back nine in 1 1/2 hours.

I probably will not go back to this course for a while. It's not worth the money!!
