Been in SoCal for 20 years with the Navy, married for 4 years (2nd time around), three kids (17, 13, 4 - mine, hers, ours). Started playing golf in 1995 and picked it up rather quickly, got to 12 handicap in 1999. Couldn't break 80 so decided it was time for professional lessons. Found a guy and worked with him for three straight weeks and he changed EVERYTHING about my game. First round after lesson shot a 130+ and didn't have a clue what I was doing wrong. Pro told me it would take time, never broke 100 after that. Got frustrated and stopped playing for several years. Hooked up with the group I play with now in 2006 and have worked hard to bring my game back around and now have 22.3 handicap and am shooting mid to low 90s, breaking into the 80s every now and then. Looking to continue working on my golf game and finishing 2009 with index under 20, hopefully by several strokes, and looking to 2010 to get under 15 again. We play every Sunday at different courses around SoCal and I carry my clubs to wherever the Navy sends me and try to play local courses there. Last trip was to Panama City, Panama, prior to that was Denver where I got to play City Park, which was rated one of the top muni courses in the country by Golf Magazine.
