First time at Indian Canyons (South) and was blessed with a perfect 85*F weather day with light 5mph cool winds. All staff interactions were top notch with Lee helping out at the front desk, the bartender pouring me a delicious Transfusion (with real grape juice none of that pre-mixed crap), and Bobby the starter was very friendly as he helped me tee off earlier than my scheduled time at 12:40pm joining a threesome. Good POP today just over 4hrs, no one playing in front and only a couple groups behind us. Course conditions were lush from tee to green, fairways had good roll out with favorable lies, rough had good length to easily find ball. Greens were overall rolling medium-fast with good coverage, some (5/18) did have pitch mark issues but was warned about that prior from the starter. These greens were pretty "fair" for the most part holding well with approaches and did not have what I think excessive slope compared to the greens I've been playing at the greenskeeper/golf moose private club events lol. Cart service made 3 turns during the round, water stations and stocked/clean bathrooms throughout the course. Carts had GPS and two complimentary water bottles were included in a prefilled ice chest. I love when courses pre-fill the ice chest with ice, it's the little things that count. Rate was $140 w/ cart and honestly was worth the money. The conditions, staff interactions, scenery, course layout, ice with free water bottles, and POP did not make me feel bad for spending $100+. Hoping to return one day to try the North course. I recommend playing this course right now! :)

Wife, my two boys (11 and 6) and I went out for an afternoon round at Indian Canyons South on Nov. 1, 2024. Got a decent deal on it for the four of us and it made for a phenomenal day!

When we pulled up, staff immediately came out to my Truck to pick us up in carts. Got us all loaded up and drove us to the clubhouse. Really nice guys and were loads of fun to talk to while we were getting loaded up. They even pulled some strings with the maintenance staff to turn the fountain on for my younger son (fountain was under maintenance, but my younger one kept asking if they could just turn it on for a minute and they did! It made his day).

Went in, got checked in, bought some kitsch. Guy at the clubhouse was great. Talked my wife into one of their famous bloody marys, which she quite enjoyed with her lunch.

Ate lunch at the clubhouse and it was exceptional. The brisket sandwich was just lovely.

Finished up lunch, putted a few balls, then went to the starter. Starter gave us a few pointers on the course and got us going.

With regards to the course, everything was in lovely shape. Tee boxes were fluffy and level. Fairways were pretty much pristine with just a handful of brown spots. Rough was not overly penal, but was long enough that you would want to avoid it if possible. Sand was fluffy. Greens were medium speed and not bumpy at all. Only downside to the whole course is that I was playing like hot garbage for the entirety of the front nine, but that is definitely my fault.

All in all, one of the better experiences I have had at any of the courses in the Coachella Valley. We will absolutely be back to play it again.

Played Weds 8AM. Very nice and accommodating staff. $95 was I thought a bit steep --but whatever-- conditions were nice so worth it in that regard. Lady in pro shop did mention only 25 people booked for the day....so maybe look at the ask rate to drum up some additional biz. Fairways lush, greens for the most part rolled well. A few brown spots here and there ...but it's almost Springs 100* plus so that's to be expected. Better condition than Westin Pete Dye that we played the following day. Only gripes were very unlevel tee boxes......let's flatten those out guys-- very easy fix.
We played an additional 9 holes on a replay rate of $40 which I thought was a bit steep.
I'll be back....fun layout and really nice views.

We played Indian Canyons South today at 10:30 fast round less then 3 and half hours....course is so nice, fairways like hitting off brand new driving range mats, green putt so true at medium speeds it was like someone else was using my putter...fairly easy course and my wife loves it because it is only 4,700 yards from red tees completely fair for this over 70 lady (she did hit one in the water so only shot 84). If you play with your wife this is the place she can beat you.

Rode the Blacks (6560/71.1/123) in slightly less than 4H mid day on a GN "Hot Deal". 103, clear and fairly calm. Age is truly only a number. Met Mary and Perky for the first time on #1 tee. I would guess that if you added up what their birth certificates say they probably total 150 years between them. Extremely nice ladies and pretty good sticks, they have a good time and act/think much younger! IC South is shorter and a more picturesque layout that it's sister North course. 2004 redesign by Amy Alcott/Casey O'Callaghan. Would be a challenging layout to walk, hole 15 is away from the rest of the course on the other side of a housing track. Mostly generous fairways with a decent amount of large water hazards to navigate over on several approach shots. One double green (10/17), and numerous greens have runoff areas mowed down like a links style course, while others have deep rough just off the green. Tees were mostly lush and well maintained for divots. Fairways lush and nice to play from. Rough semi lush and mostly mowed down, good POP rough. Sand traps decently maintained with fine quality sand. Greens firm and putted medium fast speed. Front 9 greens were a 9/10, excellent/smooth. Back 9 greens had been punched with small tines and were more like a 6/10. Very good customer service, quick efficient check-in and the starter was friendly and informative. Prepaid but all check in is done outside. Kudos to Sang in the cart barn, exceptional customer service. Drink cart out making the rounds. Bottled water and ice provided. All grass range with complementary balls. Fun layout to play, recommended.

Played Indian Canyons South on 3/7/21 at 7am for $115. After seeing a couple of reviews on other sites regarding the behavior of the staff/starter, I was ready for some action. Little did I know that everyone was helpful/friendly 100% of the time on the course. Arrived at 6:25 to hit a few balls (not included in fee), greeted by the starter on the range at 6:40 to let us know the box is ours at our discretion. Many people might feel "rushed" when the starter does his job, but I like it when they do everything within their power to make sure pace of play is the #1 priority. Onto the course! What a phenomenal course in terms of VALUE for an early weekend tee-time. I did not expect it to be Indian Wells and while it wasn't, it still had it's charm. I was impressed with the value and pace of play, two key pieces of the puzzle for me. The first couple holes are fantastic in terms of layout/scorability. Never in my life have I seen so many palm trees placed on a course as a defensive strategy, and it works. The course could certainly be more challenging and felt "tight" at times in between fairways. You can spray it around off the tee on certain holes if you simply avoid the water. I wish the length was slightly longer to stretch things out, but they have mostly maximized the space. Major complaints are simply the greens on Par 3s. More pitch marks that I could count and I feel as though that can be addressed. Tee boxes also are not level from the back tees on all holes and can be very small. If you are looking for a fun/affordable course with above average conditions, this is it. Great views and fair price. I forgot to mention multiple pins cut on noticeable slopes. Slightly frustrating for sure.

Recent twilight round out at Indian Canyons (South) and the course is currently in fantastic shape. It's a fun, resort-course layout with lots of water in play, plenty of mammoth sized palm trees and fast, fun greens. We played from the teal markers and, while not super long, it's made up for with the need to make the right club selection to take hazards out of play.

The greens are in very nice shape right now with super coverage, fast speeds and true lines. Some of the patrons are not doing a great job of fixing their ball marks, but that's about the only knock on them right now. The fairways are lush and provide a perfect hitting surface, while the rough is thick and penal but a firm, committed strike will get you what you need.

Bunkers were in good shape with nice sand just a touch below the perfect fluffy stuff, while the only knock on the place were some of the crowned and sloping tee boxes on a good number of the holes. Makes no sense, but they're there. Really hope they get those fixed.

Carts are nice but no GPS so it's helpful to have your own, especially on blind holes like the par 5 3rd. There are five par 3s on this course, five par 5s and eight par 4s, so it's a good mix and always keeps you on your toes. POP was a fine four hours for the afternoon, getting done just as cool breezes picked up after the sun dips behind San Jacinto.

Really well organized and taken care of course so don't miss it if you're in the area.

Played today with an 8:10 am tee time. Check-in is at the bag drop. I was early so I got my cart and headed to the range for a while. The people I was scheduled to play with didn’t show up on time so I was then paired with a wonderful threesome from Alaska.

This course is so much fun. The fairways are huge but there is plenty of potential trouble from the many bunkers and water hazards. Conditions were fantastic. There was not a brown blade of grass to be seen anywhere on the fairways or rough- just beautiful lush, green grass. The rough is about 2 inches and dense enough to let the ball sit up nicely. The tee boxes are all uniform in size and shape, level with few divots. The bunkers have lots of clean, soft fluffy sand. The greens were a bit thin with quite a few scars, but were firm, fast and rolled true. Lots of undulations made these large greens really interesting.

Covid precautions were a bit mixed. Masks are required around the clubhouse. The carts had coolers and bottled water, but no seed mix. No rakes or ball washers on the course. The pro-shop was closed but they had both indoor and outdoor dining. The patio was completely full at lunchtime.

The beverage cart came by 4 times. POP was just under 4 hours. I had a great time and look forward to a return visit. Definitely recommended.
