Shocked that I am the first golfer to write a review for this course. But I have never been to the area and was staying at the Alisal Resort so I gave it a shot. Greens Fees were very steep. Actually kind of a rip off at well over a hundred dollars! Tee time at 7 AM, got there at 6:45 and no one was there, empty. Went out to the driving range (all grass) and was able to gather a couple balls to warm up. 7:10 rolls by and still no employees. Are you kidding me? So me and the other member of our twosome teed off on one and some employee just walking up said "hey you need to pay!". I felt like saying, Ive been here a half hour and your the one late! This is customer service that 135$ greens fees should represent.

Course conditions were overall very nice. Tee boxes were not very good though. A mixture of different grasses and it looked as if kikuya or a crab grass had taken over most of the tee boxes giving them a very spongy feel. The fairways for the most part were pretty lush and green, bare at times but very good for hitting off of. By far the best aspect of this golf course were the greens. Smooth and fast, no complaints there. They get so little play they are incredibly smooth.

Pace of play, 3 hours and 15 minutes! AWESOME! but thats not saying much cause no one was out there. Very very very enjoyable and relaxing golf experience once you are out on the course. Played the tips and was presented with a very tough and demanding golf course, didn't play well but still enjoyed my time on the golf course after a weird beginning to the day. If you're staying at Alisal give it a chance, its pricey but close and relaxing. Don't expect anything more than a 70$ course.
