I played on 12/24/11. The weather was beautiful with clear skies and very little wind. The high was 58 degrees which some people would find a little cool. When the sun starts to go down behind the mountain, then it does get really cool.

I have played this course many times. I truly enjoy it every time. It is winter so the outer rough is a golden color because it has gone dormant. The rest of the rough (inner/first cut) and fairways are green which creates a beautiful contrast.

The greens are in winter conditions as well. Normally these greens are medium fast, but because the grass is longer, what I call hairy, they are slow. And, they have donuts (raised up) near the hole. Normally you can see when there's a donut around the hole, but I could not see it. I know the donut was there because lag/slower putts broke away from the hole when the ball got about 3-4 inches from the hole.

This course has two very different sets of nines. The front 9 is the newer 9 and has some tricky holes. For example number 6 has a very elevated tee box and you cannot see the lake and green behind the hill. On your second shot you will see the lake and green. That's when you have to decide to layup or go for it. I thought I had conquered this hole being happy to usually walk away with a 5 on this tricky par 4, but... not this time. I shot a high number!

The course has beautiful views of the Virgin Mountains and desert buttes. The course has very interesting hole layouts with different elevations. It has 5 different tee boxes making this course playable for levels of all players. I play either the ladies red 4739 yards or ladies gold 5335 yards tee boxes depending on my game. The slope and ratings are old on the card. The correct ones are ladies red 67.4/112 and ladies gold 70.7/121.

As I said earlier, I always enjoy playing this course.
