This course is pretty chewed up; but it seems like everyone knows that. You get what you pay for here: $24 after 1pm. If you have some free time in the afternoon, and you want to play a round of golf in under 4 hours, then Azusa Greens is alright and you'll have fun. If you are really serious about course conditions, don't go there.

Not a good experience here. Fairway and tee boxes in poor shape. Some faiways were downright terrible. 1 hour delay due to pile-up on 1st tee. This course was not worth waiting that long for. Pace was poor as well due to the bottlenecking. Large groups showing up getting preferential??? I suspect this. Won't be back for a long time. They're doing construction on the clubhouse so there's that "out of sorts" atmosphere. Kind of a shame conditions are so bad here. This would be an absolutely beautiful course if it were much better maintained.

Played on 3/29/2008. Course needs maintenance BADLY. The layout was fun, but play was depressing most of the time, especially if your ball landed in a patch of dirt on the fairway (challenge, I guess)! This place has tons of potential to be a great golf course some day, if maintained to at least GOOD or GREAT conditions. Until that day, there are lots of better courses in LA County for the same price or less.

Same as last time. Not much improvement. Could be a good course if taken care of. A lot of maintenance needed. Still good to play if you enjoy the game.

This was the first time I played A.G.CC in 25 years. The lay out is good enough, the club it's self has a 1950s kind of feel, which is very relaxed ,note a 5 hour round early Sunday morning. The grass was thin all over, tee boxes were very poor and should be closed to allow grass to grow. Will I Play again? Sure in the summer after new grass has grown in.

I choose to save some cash and try a twilight tee time. I like walking when I play and I found myself a few holes into the course with it all to myself. Then out of nowhere I got passed by about five straight twosomes all zipping around in carts trying to squeeze in all 18 by the time the sun set. It was pretty annoying and then a few holes later more people passed me in their carts. Overall my experience was terrible and the course was poorly maintained. There was little definition between fairways and rough and the greens all seemed to be trimmed at different lengths. The layout was decent, although pretty straight and not too hilly. With some better maintenance this could be a decent muni course. Can't recommend this place, unless you like speeding around in a cart playing rushed golf.

Judging by what I read here, I was expecting a barren desert for fairways. Well, it wasn't that bad. There were spots that were thin and brown, but certainly not as bad as I expected based on other reviews. Had a 9:30 tt, got called @ 9:40, and teed off around 10. It's definitely an exercise in keeping your shots straight, except for the 2 doglegs. The snack shop area is under renovation, so the only bathrooms near the clubhouse are of the porta-potty variety. They had gotten a lot of use and were pretty dirty, both from mud and usage. Kinduva real drag if you needed to use it, but other than that, for the greens fee, I"d certainly play it again.

During the week it's a place to go to get in a quick round. The fairways are narrow and OB on almost everyhole makes this course tougher than it appears at first glance.

Somehow, we managed to wedge a round in between storms this past weekend. We haven't played this course in some time, so we were looking forward to our tee time. It was nice to run into a friendly and helpful staff (a nice change). We noted that the course was busy, but that is to be expected in this area. Many of the narrow fairways are lined by groves of trees, and there were a lot of golfers caught on the wrong side of these groves throughout the course of the day. The keys to scoring here are to "stay inside the lines" and to read all of the greens carefully before you putt. All day long, I was fooled by the break and the speed (or lack thereof) on the greens, and my score reflected that fact. I was able to keep the ball in play for most of the day, but when I went astray I paid the price. You're often going to have to hit some sort of a punch through the groves in order to get back into the fairway, should you miss to the right or the left. The fairways are a little beat up, right now, but you can find the "floor" with a little focus. Finally, it seemed to me the course played one club longer on the approach shots, so you might want to keep that in mind should you decide to wander out this way (or maybe I just didn't eat my Wheaties). As always, good luck to you.

Played again this month. Not much improvement. Tee boxes were a mess, fairways ok (at times patchy), greens ok (at times bumpy), practice area is good to go. Not much of a looker but ok if you like to play golf.

Course can use some help. Many brown spots on the tees, fairways, and rough. Home of the "2007 Waste Land Open Tournament" and "Smokey's Event". Still OK to play if you love golf.

Called to book tee time, but we pretty much didn't have to. It was wide open........on a sunday, and for good reason. The course and facilities were terrible. Everything from the clubhouse to the range and the course. The people weren't really friendly either, no service with a smile here. Altough the Marshall was pretty cool. The pace of play was quick about 3 1/2 hours because nobody was there. We could've played each hole 2 or 3 times but why would we? Even when you hit a good shot, your next shot might be off DIRT! The fairway was like a middle-age man........balding. $40.00 to play, I won't play it again even for $5.00. Poorly run and in total disrepair. Pass this one up, the rating on this site was fair but should be graded to poor.

The recent rain really helped the fairways on the course. There are a lot less bare spots. However, it did not help the greens at all. The grass on the greens were long and made them extremely slow and bumpy. It still is in the best shape that I have seen in months

Played our usual Monday Senior tournament. Weather was real cold, but warm up around the Par 5 4th hole. The course is in its usual winter condition. The fairways are hard and grass is short, and sometimes bare, but the balls roll along way which help on drives. The greens are fair.

I hate being cruel, but I have to be honest. This is probably the worse conditioned golf course I've played in ..... can't remember any worse. There is just a total general absence of care or maintainance here. You can like or dislike the layout, but the lack of conditioning is inexcusable. I had not played here since Jan 2000, and it will most likely be more than 7 years before I return again, Too bad, because every golf course deserves more attention that this place is getting!

Harder than it looks for a par 70 .. Blues call for some nice shots off of the tees... greens are having some fungus issues so they are sanded a bit too often ... 2 par 4's are reachable off the tee without too much risk if you miss .... very reasonably priced

Played on Sunday October 7. Typically conditions at this course. Pace of play was sluggish. Little pricey for this place. These muni tracks need to have better starters or marshalls. The pace of play was to slow for a course of this caliber. Its not a simple course but is also not Augusta. 30 handicap people giving lessons on the tee is completly unneccessary. So play this course on a weekday and you may have a better time.

played here again on 9-23 because my friends booked a time here to play. So i just tagged along to play. just like last week, the course is in terrible condition.

Tee boxes r horrible as usual. unlevel and severe divot damage

Fairways had sooo many bare spots

Rough was basically dead grass, hard dirt with rocks everywhere, or wood chips from where they cut trees down

greens were a little faster, but still considered slow. still bumpy with dirt patches.

i highly recommend not to play here until at least a few months go by for this place to get fixed up.

played there on monday 9/4/2006. tee boxes were pretty unlevel. fairways were mushy. greens were real slow. traps needed sand. pace was good as our 5some got through in about 4:45 minutes

anything off the fairway was in bad shape. there was rock hard dirt with rocks all over the place.

i have seen the course in much better shape in the past

but for $26 with cart on a holiday i can't complain.

Course was dry dry dry. But the price was low, played 36 houls for $30 (including cart). Pretty empty but iwas a Monday. I would like to see this course in the early sprig after the rain waters the fairways, because the course cetainitly wont be watering them. But over a good day.

Played Friday, May 5th and the course was the best condition I have seen it. This course is not the greatest track, but it will definitely do for $23 cart included. The greens rolled nice and the fairways happened to have some green grass instead of the usual dirt and dead stuff. The bunkers were also suprisingly nice, they actually had a bit of sand in them. Overal, definitely worth the money and even got to play 27 holes due to the fact that you can play again for free.

You get what you pay for. Below average muni that could be decent. Played sun 3/19. teed off 25 min after my scheduled time. The starter was nice about it, gave us free range balls unsolicited. Course was extremely slow, but I expected that. I have never seen so many hackers at one course. Nothing really wrong, it's just an interesting observation. Usually you see a few here and there. This was every group!! Every group we saw someone grounding... just funny. Anyways, if you don't mind a slow round at a playable course, $40 with cart is tough to beat. Bring your novice friends! Everyone else does.

Played here for the first time on Saturday and I was not impressed at all. If it was not for the Red Dot discount ($20 with cart) I would not have played. The fairways were hardpan, the rough was hardpan, the sand traps were hard, the tee boxes were very bare. Do you see a pattern here? The greens were decent, I have to admit that. It took us over 5.5 hours to get through this course, maybe because we were behind a 6 (one of which was under 10 years old and his name was not tiger) a 5 and a really slow 4. The only thing that was great that I got to play with a good friend and the guy that joined us was great to play with.

I wouldn't come back to this place. There were a lot of bare spots just off the fairways and you're pretty much hitting off of dirt. The green fee at $23 w/cart after 1 pm is pretty nice, but that's the only thing nice I can say about this course.

Played Sat. April 16th: The Course has responded well to the recent rains, the greens are firm and fast. The fairways are lush with no hard pan to hit off. The rough is the same with little or no ground cover. This is a tricky course because of the narrow fairways and tall trees, your best bet is to stay on the fairways or you can be in trouble.
The best feature of this course is the Green Fees very reasonable, and you can get on the course on the weekends easy.

Played Sunday 12/12 in the AM. Round began slowly due to fog. The price is right for this course and the round was enjoyable. Some notes to those thinking of playing here:
1. Players here do not repair their ball marks on the greens. I was consistantly fixing 5-7 per green and
2. Do not expect to be waved up on a Par 3 here.

This is not my first choice to golf at $40, I would rather go to Santa Anita or Whittier Narrows. But from wahat I can see today, it was not bad. For the regulars, thin rough spots on the fairway, good greens fast and tough especially if you are over pin. No complaints, beautiful day and I was on the course.

Played on Sat. 9/25: Summer has caught up to this course. The greens are still OK, but the fairways are toast . There are many bare
spots and hard. The teee boxs are spent also too many bare spots and not level at all. Hopefuly the course will come back after the Santa Ana winds die down. But still a good value for the price.

For all the lack of maintenance on the fairways and tee boxes, the greens were in very good condition. I have read the complaints regarding the conditions of the course. Come on! Weekend green fees with cart is $40 , don't expect Riviera Country Club conditions.

Course layout was unexciting, condition was pretty bad, about 5 1/2 hours to finish. Plus, you are risking your life crossing a fast, busy street twice in the carts (no walking). Only two good things were the burgers at the turn and the cute, attentive drink cart girl. Definitely not worth the drive nor 40 bucks..

There is something fun about this course. I think it might be the throw back decor or parking lot. Great view of the foothills. The fairways with cart paths through them are unlike any course I've played on. Still I like the course. Pretty good greens and good staff.

Still no rough, but the sand traps have improved .

but still worth the value of the fee @ Twilight.

Good course for the begining player. There is no real rough, all the grass is cut the same. The fairways are really narrow and the sand traps could use a little more sand and less dirt. Greens were in great shape rolled nice. For $20 at twilight (12:00), which includes a cart, is too good a deal to pass up.

Played twilight and finished in under 5.5 hours. The rough isn't even rough...it's thinner than the fairway which isn't the best, just a bit thin. The only complaint I have is they need to put MORE SAND in the bunkers. Some of these bunkers felt like a cart path. The staff was either indifferent or rude. The only thing that would make me come back is the price and early twilight, but then again, it's a 35 mile drive.

Greens nice, read true. Bunkers thin, not enough sand in them. Roughs need serious hair club for men treatment, more bare spots than grass. Fairways not fair at all...alot of standing water from the week's rainfall and just as bare as the fairways. Played "winter" rules from both as it was fair. Narrow and challenging, over 200yd par 3's, a few 400+ yd par 4's. Staff was 50/50...some nice/some indifferent. Concession stand staff were incompetent, they should be working at a school cafeteria. Would not come back unless maintenance and staff attitude improved markedly.
