Played 9/19. Got on early for our 11a tee time. I was amazed that my partner and I weren't paired with the twosome in front of us. The starter "play with them or not - totally up to you."
Played the front 9 in 90 mins. I was thrilled. Back 9 took 3 hours. I couldn't tell why for sure - it didn't seem like any of the 3 groups in front of us (couldn't really observe much farther ahead than that) changed their pace.
Greens still recovering from aeration. This course is always a pleasure to play, especially considering it's a muni. Not mention the $44 on a Friday with a cart.

My one and only tip from today? BRING YOUR OWN BEVERAGES. We saw the cart girl twice. Once while we were finishing 8 and as we were driving from 9 to 10.

The golf course was in very good condition. The fairways were well manicured. The greens were also in good condition. The greens were recovering from aireation, and still had some imperfections, but seemed to roll true. The rough was not to penal. The sand traps were soft and in good cond. It was pretty busy but the pace of play was ok. It was a pleasure to play, very enjoyable round.

Played yesterday morning. Great price. $29.00 incl. cart with good GPS. And I agree about the advertising. NO, I do not want a %$#$%ing hamburger!!

It's a fun track and the conditions I'd rate as fair-to-good. The greens were freshly plugged (big holes) and sanded (enough sand to fill the Gobi desert on some of the greens!) Fairways were fairly lush, a few spots were thinner than I'd like to see. The rough was nasty-long in some places, and - I had forgotten how narrow some of the San Dimas fairways can be. Condition-wise, I'd put it in the "it's pretty good for a muni" category. Perhaps it's because I had played River Ridge in Oxnard the day before, but it was hard not to notice that some of the tee-boxes at San Dimas as a little off-level and finding a flat place for your feet is a challenge.

The greens will heal in a couple of weeks, and it'll be a good choice for a round closer to home for me.

Pace-of-play was abysmal. Three-group back-ups on some of the holes on the front side. Back side was better. Four-and-a-half hours total. 2.5 of those spent on the front.

Like the new GPS system for yardage but can do without the annoying survey and advertisements. Got out early this morning (7am) and was happily surprised that a 4-some allowed my group to play through. After 6 holes, we caught up to the rest of the dawn patrol and still managed to finish in 3.5 hours!!!

Very pleasantly surprised with the course condition. More like a high-end semi-private course than a LA County muni. Excellent grass in the fairways, and even well defined rough areas. Quite a few of the holes present sharp dog-legs so drive position is important. Unfortunately no sign of a marshall so a 1 hr 45 minute first 9 holes turned into a five hour round when we caught up to a fivesome of walking senior, senior citizens.

First time playing the course. I was impressed with how well mainatined the course is being in a dry area.. Greens were in excellent shape. Very tough if your having a bad putting day..
Brand new gps carts were great.. Price was a little steep to ride. Recommend playing during the week with cart or walking..Would play this course again.. Very fair course...

Stepped on San Dimas Canyon this morning at 6:15am and finished in about 4 1/2 hrs. I wished the round didn't finish b/cuz this is the best muni I've played this year. They got new carts w/ GPS delivered on Wed and it really helped since I'm playing here for the 1st time. The course is lush with conditions that rival courses that cost $30-$50 more. Cost was very fair at $62 w/ a cart.

San Dimas is not very long (Blue: 6400yds) but the fairways are narrow and protected by mature trees and water on several holes. Accuracy off the tee is very important to give you a good look and angle to several elevation changing greens. It offers interesting visual presentations that make you question club selections both on the tee and in the fairways. Greens were fast and difficult to read. Its very important to know where the greens relate to the slope of the mountains and adjust your read accordingly b/cuz all putts slope away. Besides being extremely smooth the greens roll true.

I commend the team that runs this course. The pride they take in maintaining it is evident on every hole. Get here early or late because when we got off the 18th green at 10:45am the temperature was already @ 90 degrees.

Played 7/9. The course is in great shape right now. Also a nice touch is the 2 to 3 inch rough they have now. Now it’s not like all the other munies out there, where you can get away with errant shots all day without fear of paying the price. If you think it's too deep, don't go in there. Pace of play was un-expectantly open all the way around. And cart girl was seen at least 6 or 7 times, great job by all that work there.

nothing really great about this course(decent conditions, decent layout) but nothing really bad about this course. Sometimes pace of play is a problem, but, not the courses fault. Just bad players playing slow.

Played San Dimas canyon on sat.6/28/08. The course was very green for the weather conditions being as hot as it has been. The greens were very firm and had ball marks all over them. I don't think anyone in days had been fixing their ball marks. Its really to bad cause other wise the greens would be good. There are many divots in the fairways putting sand in these does very little other than keep it flat. Maybe some grass seed in the sand would help.

Wonderful course! Love the GPS units on the carts. Entire course is green and lush, which is a nice change from most of the munis in the county. Pace was really slow today, most like due to tournament playing in front of us, and the heat. Probably not good idea to play today because it was extremly HOT, but had fun regardless.

great course to play. gps was a plus. teed off at 2:58 and finished at 7:15ish

driving range really sucks. chipping and putting area was very good.

we got there about an hour before our tee time, but the pro shop guy wouldnt let us out early since we got a discounted time through golfnow.com. mind you the course was wide open and it was only 2 of us. he told us we could go out now for an additional $8 each. of course we said no and went to go hit range balls. anyways other than that it was a good time. didnt see a drink lady at all through the entire round.

everything played well on this course. my only complaint would be toward the players. fix your ball marks! each green i would fix at least 3-4 ball marks just in the general area of my own ball.

Played 6/7. Met up with fellow GKer Audac1ty via Meet Me At/Posted Tee Time. How cool was that? Very cool! Back to the course....
We got there an hour ahead of our 10:36a time. Starter/Club house was getting people out on time and they were great. I couldn't believe it took us 6 hours to play. We were never backed up more than 1 group on any given hole and didn't feel like we were waiting extraordinarily long at any time, but there you have it. The greens were in really nice shape, a little slower than I anticipated, but ball marks were few and far between. The GPS on our cart wasn't working and after the 3rd hole, I disconnected and reconnected it. It rebooted (complete with Safe Boot or Latest Version Boot options) and, voila!, it worked.
I think this is fast becoming one of my favorite courses. Nice variety in the holes, the 2 deer we saw near the green on one of the back nine, and just an overall feel - it was real nice.

Teed off a.m.on Sat May 31. This was my first round here since 1993, and things have changed for the better. I was really impressed. The improvements they've made here make the course fun, playable, challenging and well-conditioned. We played from the blue tees, and I'd forgotten how challenging this course is. There are some tough tee shots, tough approaches, grabby rough, fast and smooth greens, and hard to read greens. I used every club in my bag, and I think the layout is very fun - certainly not boring. The starters did an excellent job getting players out exactly at their appointed time. If not for a couple of errant shots by me on 17 & 18, we'd have finished in just over 4 hours, so the pace was very good. The new grill is very nice, and I really like how the parking is right next to the clubhouse. It was a beautiful day, and a fun time playing the "new" San Dimas.

Played here for the first time yesterday (HOT!!!) and was pretty impressed. Well maintained. Greens were fast but not too fast. The course was challenging at times: narrow fairways, trees in the fairway, significant doglegs, etc. Had more par 3s and 5s than the average course as well which I liked. The round went quick- 4 hours. Awesome GPS system as well, complete with ability to pre-order lunch at the turn. Only complaint was the GPS system and signs all over at the par 3s insisted that you "stand aside when you get to the green and let the group behind you hit up" which made for some confusion on our groups part. (A few other non-regulars at the course were confused too.)

I had not played San Dimas Canyon G.C. for over ten years. The last time I was out there, it was owned by pro-golfer Jim Colbert. I'll never forget that day.

San Dimas Canyon ate my lunch!

Well...it happened again today. :-(

This is NOT an easy golf course. A little on the narrow side, many trees...a straight shot down the middle won't hurt you.

The tee-boxes and greens were in fine shape...no complaints. The greens certaimly looked nice and held all shots well...but I found them to be a little slow and bumpy. Not horribly bumpy...but a little inconsistant. Lots of ball marks.

The fairways were "a little better than muni" conditions...but not MUCH better. I think the current Greenskeeper.org rating is a wee-bit high...I'd put the whole experience down as about a 6.90 - to - 7.0 tops.

I have not had to punch-out from behind so many trees since...well...since the LAST time I played san Dimas...10+ years ago!!

Worth the greens-fee of $44.00, including cart? You bet!! 4.5 hours. Nobody is in a hurry out there, that's for sure!!

Played here 12/31/07 with Xavier????. He booked the tee time on golfnow for $44.00. Arrived at course at 0620 for our 0645 tee. Checked in with the starter and he said we had to pay $62. I explained that we booked the time on golfnow for $44 but he insisted we pay the $62. To make it even worse we paid a $2 booking fee so we actually ended paying $64 (can someone explain to me why I should pay a fee and not get a discount). Anyways, the course was in good shape. Greens were rock hard and fast. Traps are excellent. I just with the customer service in the pro shop was better. For what it ended up costing us we should have played Goose Creek.

Oh, yeah. The GPS is a waste of time other than checking out the hole layout, if you can see it in the glare. Not too many sprinkler heads with distance, so bring a rangefinder (a must). And the 'driving range' is 75 yds. deep hitting into a net ... at least they didn't charge you for it:)

First time playing this course. In the foothills with some sloping greens in reasonably good condition. Potential to be fast if they cut them just a bit lower, now THAT alone would make this a difficult course. Very short in distance (6400 yds.), semi-scenic in canyons, a few lakes come into play, parallel fairways abound (FORE!!!), and some tight boundries, like where the fence is about 20 feet away from the green (on some holes). Can't justify the weekend rate of $52 (walking) but it is what it is. Play there again? Not likely since it's a bit of a drive for me. But it was a pleasant experience.

I think this course is not properly managed. It seems to me that they are all about getting revenue. They cram more 5 somes and two somes together in 5 minute intervals than I have ever seen on any American golf run course. Our tournament started 1 hour and 15 minutes late and they did not seem to care. You would think they would prepare if they knew they would have a tournament coming in. I have been there other times as well and if you are not in the first 10 groups that leave you better plan on spending the entire day there... terrible management

Played Sat 12/01. They just raised the fee to $62 with carts. This is well maintained and managed course. Staffs are very nice. You can get good scores just playing with irons. They have many short par fives. Fairways were very good. Few bare spots. Greens are normal and soft. Watch for mountain breaks. Bunkers are in good. Can't complaint about the course. Green fees are bit higher side compare to other courses around the areas. I give GK rating 6.5 but only three stars for worth the green fee.

Played on TURKEY DAY, we did got out about 20 min. late, and we where scheduled the 2nd group out (5:54 AM)??They are really bad about getting groups out on schedule.
The overall course was in very good shape> The fairways and rough was kept at a good length, easy to get out from. The traps has good quality sand, not too griddy. The greens are in really good shape, but putting here is a little tricky, because it is in the foothills, it rolls away from the hills.
Overall, had a good outing and was able to get home on-time, and bring a good appetite.

Greens are normal to fast some times. Watch out for mountain breaks. Very fun course to play. I have been donation golf balls to the lake each time I played here. top is nothing but SUPERB. The golf course itself has improved a lot.
As in any course, a little improvement here and there are the normal
comments from golfers. In GENERAL, it's a great place to spend a round

Played Sat 06/30. We play here quite often and still a good interesting course. This couse has bit of everything... uphill, downhill, and water hazards. Fairways were good except bit soggy in the morning due to overwatering for the hot weather. Greens were also soggy and slow in the early morning but got better after fifth holes. Overall greens were from normal to slow. Always friendly and good customer services.
GPS...don't rely on the GPS too much. You might have to plus or minus 10 yards from the GPS system. I give GK rating 6.5.

I played Memorial Day Weekend (Sunday) pace of play painstakingly slow. Course in great shape 8+. Not worth full/holiday rate of $59. I had a coupon ($38) for Sunday. Other than pace of play, the course in good condition and sometimes hard to follow where next tee box is. But once you been there, you will figure it out.

This course is in an excellent condition! The fairway is nice and the green is good shape. Unfortunately, many of the tee boxes have severe divot damages. If you are paying the special rate under $29 (weekend rate), this course is highly recommended. Customer service is excellent.

My experience at San Dimas Canyon is a tale of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

First the good: The course is in great condition. Fairways and tee boxes are lush, and the greens are firm and fast. Players actually fix there ball marks. The course layout is also nice. Narrow fairways and tough greens are this courses' defenses. Also, three of the five par 3s were about 200 yards from the blues.

The Bad: GPS system wasn't working on our cart and had to get the cart replaced. Staff showed up within five minutes to change the cart. However, the replacement cart ran out of juice on the back nine, and customer service took 20 minutes to show up with a replacement cart. So we walked a hole and a half without a cart. Two customer service issues, one handled quickly, the other not so quickly. Based on the staff's quick response the first time, I'll give them a mulligan for the second one.

The Ugly: My score that day. Scored about 10 strokes above my handicap. A player with local knowledge will definitely have a huge advantage on this course. Especially of the greens. Most of the greens were multi-tiered, and because of the fast speed of the greens, shots that landed in the wrong tier had a good chance of becoming three putts. The pace of play was also pretty slow as mentioned by others. It was 5.5 hours, though the back nine was much faster.

This golf course requires a repeat visit from me in order to redeem myself. The conditions and challenge of the course were great. Staff was friendly, and the GPS system was great. They have the Parkview GPS system, which is the Mercedes of GPS systems. Price was also fair for the course and conditions. Defintiely would recommend this course.

Arrived at around a quarter past 2pm on 05/11 after playing 18 holes at Indian Hills. There was a mini-tournament going on but the staff was very nice and helpful. They got us on without any wait. We played at a pretty brisk pace (6 min. ahead) according to the GPS on the cart, until we ran into the group two holes ahead of us. It wound up taking over 5 hours to finish. The overall conditions (fairways, roughs, bunkers, greens and landscaping) was very good. My friend played here a while back, told me that the conditions have improved dramatically. I really like this course and would recommend it to anyone. It's inexpensive, the service is great, conditions are great and close by - so I have to give it an "A".

Hadn't played here in about 15 years.

The course has really grown up physically and aesthetically since then, but the greens fees are still modest. The course plays a bit longer than the scorecard indicates, and if you're even just slightly off your game here, you will find that it is a bit more challenging than the slope and rating indicates.

Played today. 7:16am tee time with my Dad. We got paired up with another twosome. We took a cart and paid $42 each, $28 to walk and $14 for the cart. Pace of play was fairly swift although I felt that we as a group could have moved a little faster. 3 hours and 45 minutes tops. It wasn't bad for a Friday morning.

The greens are some of the fastest I have seen in recent memory. I mean these were some really nice greens. If the fees were $50 more it would still be worth putting on greens like these. I did see a fair amount of unrepaired ball marks, or rather ones that were not fixed correctly. But whatever, I fixed 'em.

Everything is in great shape here. Like a country club, really. The only thing this course lacks is a big huge practice facility. The course alone is worth every penny. The small forty-yard netted practice area is still good for hitting a small bucket to just warm up the muscles and get loose and stretched. The practice putting green is quite sloped and undulating, but is in pristine condition. Regarding speed and pace, I found it's surface similar to that of the greens out on the course.

The only staff member I came in contact with was the starter. He didn't say much, but he was straight to the point. He got me checked in, paid up, hooked up with a golf cart in less than one minute. He let me know that he'd be calling us to let us know when it was time to tee off. Great Service!! I got the tee time through American Golf's website the day before, Thursday. It was the last tee time before a huge tournament, so I figure I got really lucky to get the time.

All in all, it was a great day playing a fantastically conditioned golf course, a great value and an interesting layout.

BTW.... for the first time around in 15 years, I shot a pretty good score of 74 from the back tees. I'll be back to make the puts that I missed.

Between San Dimas Canyon and Santa Anita, the golf is great, living in Duarte!!

However they are still very receptive to approach shots.

which made putting out a little nervous

Played @ 7:00am and walked this morning and fininshed a little over 4 hours. I think the course is in great shape right now for the price. Don't want to be above the pins. Great value, even on a windy, warm day!

I played today 5/2/07. this course is in very good shape. I have not played it in almost 10 years. I will be going back... the greens rolled nicely and the fairways were cut. Rough was just enough to let you know you were not in the fairway. Very well taken care of.

I played here April 21. I made a reservation a litte late time. around 3 pm. however, I waited for 1 hr until 1st tee shot. I doubt this golf course accept overbooking. I hope they do not.
Except tee times delay, it's okay.

It's difficult to be objective on a course that you just don't care for and when you don't play well, but I'll try. The course looks great, it just doesn't play as good as it looks. The greens and fairways are in decent condition, not great, but OK! The course has a well maintained feel to it and the rest of the foursome thought the course was in great shape, so maybe I'm just being too harsh? I will admit that it's better than it was the last time I played here in March 2005. so kudo's to the maintainence staff!

Play Sat. 03/24, overall course is in very good shape. Will be aerating this week. As long as you watch you tee shoots, you will do fine in this course. I kept my driver on most of the holes and used my irons and I had my best score. Most of par 5s are short and should able to reach within three shoots. You don't need your drivers. Next time when I come here, I am going to play the whole round without my driver. Good course to play. Staff is very nice.

what a joke. I played on Friday and Sunday. I started at 3pm on both days and neither day did I finish. The farthest i got was on Friday where I made 16 holes. Sunday, yesterday, I found myself at the 10th Tee with a 16, yes 16 player stack ahead of me. I called the clubhouse and they told me to skip ahead. How about, "no?" How about have a marshal moving people along? fxcking ridiculous. I doubt I'l go back, but if I do it'll be on a uesday at 6am. Great course, horribly managed. The only marshal iI saw after 2pm was a guy in the clubhouse. by the way, they close the clubhouse at 6. So there's no refreshments or bathroom available after that time. enjoy your twilight...you're on your own.

My wife and are brand new golfers. we seized the opportuntiy to use a great discount there; the guy on the phone was fabulous - made su beginners feel very welcomed. However, upon arrival 3 days later, he not working and the other pro-shop staff was rude, inconsiderate, condenscending (sp?) and created a very uncomfortable atmosphere. Unless you play likeTiger Woods, you won't feel wlecomed (and, yes we've play several othere courses of equal level/quality, in cluding Hawaii, besides this one).

The course itself is very good, great scenery , well kept greens, fairways are tight (but dry), the ball runs fast. Ther greens present funchalenge, too. The fairways are narrowbut well lined with trees. The layout goes uphill then downhill in a canyon; we enjoyed the cousres itself (albeit a challenge for us beginners), but the staff will hinder us from ever coming back.

Super Bowl Sunday at San Dimas, great day for golf!! 4.5 hours can you believe it? Greens are great, please fix your ball marks. Course is in great condition. Sand traps are awesome. Course is a bit used bur what do you expect for a public course. And I made it for the second half of the Super Bowl. Yea!

Tee'd off at 7am and finished in a brisk 3 and a 1/2 hrs. Course conditions were great, very fast greens. Also of note, something thats not mentioned on the details page is that the carts are equipped with GPS units, was nice being my first chance to play using them and really getting to see how far some of my hits were going. Overall a wonderful experience and I highly recommend playing especially with discounted rates from GolfNow.com

Played here on Friday talk about great conditions. All the cunstruction is done there now i bet you they raise the prices. Though i am a little upset about the customer service i recevied in the morning there. The starter was a real @#$ i have never been treated so bad in my life. Talk about being short with me. He was helping me than the phone rang and he didnt even put the call on hold. I waited like 10 min just so i can pay for my green fee. Buy reading all the comments posted people here are right the Customer Service sucks and it shows American Golf pays no attention to Customer Service.

Played on Friday Dec. 29th...Course was jam packed, couldn't find a parking space in the parking lot, had to park on the street...Showed up around 11:30am for our 11:56 tee time, didn't tee off til 12:30pm, only played 15 holes...They were charging holiday rates for the past week since the Friday before Christmas...It's a good thing I booked it online using my GolfNow.com Country Club membership to save over 70% off regular holiday rates! Like I mentioned before, two of my buddies almost got hit again standing on the tee box, this is a very dangerous course and had to wait on every hole...Six hour rounds are the norm here, probably not worth the green fee since they sent out so many fivesomes and lots of beginners as well...The worst part is that management doesn't seem to give a crap about pace of play here, the marshalls here do absolutely nothing to enforce pace of play...Will not return at any price!!!

Played here on 12/28 in some serious wind. Course is beautiful and in overall great shape. Greens are firm and fast and layout of the course is challenging but also rewarding if you are a risk taker. Teed off around 11:30 and did not finish until 5 which is average I am told for this course. Overall though, this course is a good value for your money - just make sure you have the time.

Well what can i say course was in good condition. Greens were true and fast. The course is in great shape. But only one problem. I felt very uncomfortable in the golf shop when i was checking in. The starter was very upset and not very helpful. I wanted to get a pair of shoes and most of the time the starter will come out from behind and help. Asked about a certain shoe and he nearly jumped down my thoart. I was shocked. So i left went to sport chalet and got my shoes than teed off with my buddies. I hope that other people dont get treated this way when they check in. Attention all GK members be careful if you play here in the morning. You might get a rude awakeing.

Played this course for the first time today. The course is in very good condition. It is a good layout, with some straightforward holes and some very challenging holes. A lot of the par 5's are reachable and might be better played as long par 4's, but it definitely helps scoring. The course however, would benefit from teaching players how to properly fix ball marks....many greens, especially the shorter par 3's were pretty pock-marked in the front. The GPS is an excellent feature, makes it much easier for a first time player.

The only drawback to this course, as has been mentioned extensively, is the PACE OF PLAY. It took 5:20 to play on a WEDNESDAY, even after we started 25 minutes after our tee time. It wasn't so bad because the company was good, but it could get tedious if you aren't playing with people you like.

Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend this course.

Played here during the week and come to find out the best starter was not with American golf anymore. What a bummer I just hope the customer service will stay the same. He treated us like we were at a country club everytime we would go he knew us by last name not many people who work on the public side of golf courses can do this. So where every he went good luck Tim you will be missed. But the kid that was working got us a great deal only 25 bucks to play around at 10:30 am i think we will go back for that rate awsome.

San Dimas Canyon is a surprisingly good quality course in a scenic and relaxing foothill canyon location. Pace of play wasn't super fast but the Marshall was out there working hard to keep everyone moving along. Course condition is excellent and the greens are very fair. I would play here again anytime even thought it is a bit of a drive.

Greens are in fantastic shape ... all other feedback here is dead on .. pro shop deals.. slow play .. tricky reads ... Hole 12 par 5 is not the hole to be aggressive on unless you are a low handicapper ... take your par and run ,,, the GPS tips are a nice touch

Played Sun 11/19/06 for 11:32 AM tee time. Did not get to tee off until 11:55 AM. This is usual for San Dimas, I played here few times and any get to tee off on my tee time. The course is in good condition. Fairway is green and lush, and the greens are smooth, but have some un-repaired ball marks. The GPS is very nice. One of the biggest problem for San Dimas is the pace of play. They keep push out 5some, and there is no marshall at all. Took 3 hours to play front nine. The pace is extremely slow, did not even get to finish before it gets dark. There is a group that is 2-3 hole behind and no one says anything. Very disappointed at the pace of the slow. Good nice course..but pace of play is horrible. If you want to play in this course on weekend, be prepared to spend 6 hours on the course. I will think twice before I go back again.

Played Sat 11/04. I haven't play this course more than a year. It's interesting course but I skipped it because my partners didn't like the course. I really like the course except sharing fairways. You really need to be very careful and watch out for the balls flying toward to you. Very insteresting greens. Watch out for mountain breaks or whatever breaks. Had tough time with the greens. Fairways are very good and the sands are GREAT. Play conservative on handi holes. Most of us had double pars on handi 1 & 2. Don't look that tough but had lousy scores. Overall course is excellent and beautiful mountain views. Love to go back again and test my skill once again. Thumbs up!

I play all over in the inland valley and I have to say of all the courses in the area this one is by far the best conditioned I have played. The greeens are pure and rolling at what has to be 10 on the stimp. The bunkers have better conditions than the private clubs in the area. The overall color is consistent through and through. Fun layout and what a setting. GREAT EXPERIENCE! A must play.

GOLFERS BE WARE! It's very easy to get hit at this course since all the holes parallel each other and there are plenty of errand shots all over the course...One of my buddies was nailed on the back on the 6th green from someone teeing off on the 3 par 7th hole last time and this time it was my turn...Almost got hit three or four times last Wednesday playing in the afternoon by the group behind us and was finally nailed near the 14th fairway by one of my playing partners of all people from about 80 yards away as he shanked a three wood going for the green from 265 yards while I stood behind a tree in front of the lake on the right side of the fairway...The ball one-hopped and hit my left forearm then bounced off my left cheek...Ouch! He's taking me out for a free round of golf next week...Lucky it didn't hit my eye or temple or else I'd be laid out for sure as hard as he hits the golf ball with a wood...FORE!!!!

I have been playing this course for years and management continues to get worse. They consistently over book tee times and stock the first tee with 5 groups at a time. The pace of play is EXTREMELY slow as they also let groups of 5 out all over the course. If you have a whole day, the course is in great shape. If you have other things to do, go play somewhere else.

Played here 10-13-06. Greens were in great shape rolling fast and true. Fairways were average but thin in a few areas. Sand traps are excellent with new sand in most. Only complaints are with the tee boxes (thin, but they are working on them) and the pace of play. Almost 5 hours after we were the seventh group out in the morning. Spoke with marshall about speeding up play but he was worthless.

Course is in okay shape.. Would love to play here again, but the tees and around the greens need to come back from overseeding. Okay value on weekday but not on the weekends. Golf shop is well stocked and has the best prices and will beat any golf shops prices including Golfsmith, Rodger Dunn and any internet company.

Played here on Monday course was in great shape. The greens have come back from being airefided. Had a very unpleasent experience in the golf shop in the morning. I have never seen someone get so mad in my life at a group. I dont know what happend but he was throwing things all over the place. I asked if i could check in and he siad cant you see im busy and told me to wait. So i waited and then he got me checked in a got me out to play. Good layout but needs to be manage a little better. To anyone who plays here during the week i would say play in the afternoon not the morning.

Tee off right before 2pm today using my GolfNow.com Country Club membership to save over 60%...They just aerated the greens last week and it showed...The greens have big holes and quite a bit of sand on them...I'd wait at least two weeks for the greens to recover...There's quite a bit of construction going on as well, not sure why...They closed off most of the area surrounding the clubhouse and have detours for the first and tenth tee...Not really worth the full green fee right now, but it's still a nice course if you don't mind sandy greens!

Have not played here in long time. The course is playing great. Pretty lush for a hot summer. The greens were pretty darn good for a public course. The sand traps were fluffy. Course is well maintained. It took us 4.5 hours to play but don't be surprise if it is a 5+ hour round. Great value for $40 during weekday.

what a joke, during the week this place is ok at best. Stay away on weekends and holidays...it's all about the american golf greed and not the customers experience. We played on 7/3 and 7/4. Our tee time on 7/4 was just before 8 am and we FINALLY went out over an hour late. The incompetant starter told us when weasked 20 minutes before out tee time that he was running 15 minutes late.Later, I actually heard him screaming at another customer. Still another group was told by the general manager that it was not his problem that they were "a few minutes" (actually by then 45 minutes) behind, and actually tried to blame the group for bringing a fifth player. I got to the course about an hour and half before our time to have breakfast, and saw nothing but fivesomes go out. What a joke. When I looked at their tee sheet when I was finally called to the desk, I saw they had the tee sheet set at 6 minute intervals. NO WAY fivesomes can tee off every 6 minutes....after playing a 3 hour + front nine, our group walked off the course.

Tim Stearns wanted San Dimas to be "our golf course". He wants not only a quality golf course, but for "gentlemen and ladies" golf course.
We have been playing for years at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course and
hopefully, we will be there for many more years. Thanks Tim.

Course is in very good shape. Its a fun course but has some problems. We had a threesome and they tried to put a twosome with us. I feel no course should only allow fivesomes if it has very light play, not on Fridays or weekends. The other problem is most fairways run next to each other which means it never fails someone will pull their cart right out in front of you just before you hit, or you can hear someone on another hole screaming about bad or good shots. I like the course but only when play is light.

SLOW DIMAS ! ! !Save your money. Heard they fired the Superintenent last month and it shows. The layout is fun and challenging but it you're going to spend the money there are so many other course in the area that are alot nicer, and faster to play. The nickname for this pace, SLow Dimas is perfect. The starters and management don't care about how slow it is....you complain and they look at you like..."so what" I've played here a couple times but won't be back. The starters Javier and Dave are jerks, and the manager Tripp couldn't care less. Like I said, save your money!

I am not one too complain too often, but the customer service was terrible!! Maybe the worst I have ever encountered at a golf course. Got to course about half hour early so that I could practice and had to wait over 20 minutes to check in and pay. Then, people that had tee time at a later time were sent off before us?? Course was in good condition. GPS was nice feature, but cart died on 9th hole and round took about 5.5 hours.

Had a 4-some on 25 May with a 6:13 tee time and the course got us on the box right on time. Initially thought we would be held up by a 5-some that went out right before us. But, we got through the round in just over 4 hours and left the 3-some behind us at least 2 holes behind. The course is in great shape, but they need to marshall better to discourage slow play.

If the group in front of us did not fall behind more than one hole, we'd have finished in 4 and 1/2 hours. The couple we played with were very pleasant. My wife was happy that she played free and the guy in the proshop was nice enough to greet her "Happy Mother's day!". All in all, we had a good outing on this course.

this course is in the best shape i have ever seen in 10 years. the gps is a great addition to this course. the fairways are nearly perfect. the greens would be if people would fix there divots. on the 16th hole there was at least 20 fresh divots that nobody had repaired.WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO FIX YOUR OWN DIVOT, THEN FIX ONE MORE?

Good course, very tight...lost a lot of golf balls. When you hear fore, and you will hear that quite often, definitely take cover because this course brings out the shank in people.

Played on 5/6 after 12pm. As the out-of-state golfer in my group puts it - a hardhat course. Balls were flying all over the course. It is a fun course though. Condition is good. I'd have enjoyed the round more, if it didn't take 6 hours. Will try to play the course again in the morning on weekend to check if pace of play is better.

Played today with my buddies and had the most unusual request from a Marshall I've ever encountered on a golf course...At the third hole, a Marshall named Jerry drove by and told us the course GM was playing behind us so he wanted us to waive them up on the par 3's after reaching the green which we always do anyway....Then on the Par 5 6th hole while we were putting on the green he drove by again and asked us to stop putting and let the group behind us(namely his boss and his guests) hit onto the green first before we putt...I've been golfing for almost four years and my buddies for over thirty years and we've never heard of this bullcrap on a Par 5 before anywhere...And I play once a week all over LA County and even at some private clubs...
This is a blatant case of a Marshall trying to kiss up to his boss and we simply refused and kept on playing...Tripp, you better put a stop to this non-sense or you won't see us and our buddies visiting your course ever again!!!

Went for a quick 9 holes the week of 3/13 before work. San Dimas now has GPS...nice addition to the play. Tells you everything you need to know. If only it could swing my club too!

The back nine was in excellent shape from the tee box to the greens

Drove over from Santa Anita after finding out it was only palying 17 holes. Put my name on the list at San Dimas and was out in 1/2 hr. The course was in good shape. Greens were fast (don"t be above the hole). All in all a fine day.

Played on a holiday Monday, 12/26/05 and what a mistake. It was way too crowded and we teed off about an hour late so we finished up on the 16th as it got dark. We were actually delayed just waiting for carts, which they require you rent on holiday mornings. The staff was courteous and apologetic. The course was in great shape - tee boxes in good shape although the blue tees were closed off, the fairways were green and well-watered, the greens were soft and really slow, but still in good condition. I'll play it again but never on a holiday weekend. I agree that they shouldn't allow fivesomes on this course.

Played sunday 12/11/05 morning. This time of season (after fall aeration) seems to every almost courses in very good shapes.Good greens, lush fairways(not barespot used be) even pace of play was good today. But we had 5 stooges ahead of us singing in chorus "fore" every shot they made(really beginners that we never saw 1 good shot executed) even their par 3 208yards tee shot almost hit me when I'm putting on green. It's free of choice to play at golf course skilled or not but considering errant shot could hurt or kill anybody I think it's better take some lessons or enough practice at range before go out to field is not bad for everyone. At least I learned like that & I DID SO.

Played on a saturday from golf909.com and it took forever! they overpacked the course without a doubt we had to wait up to thirty minutes on some holes. Other than the time factor wich did give us sometime to enjoy the views of the foothills, the course is challenging and in great shape. Im a new golfer and I got my first birdie on hole 9, a very tricky par 5. I give this course a B grade.

At the time I played there, they are fixing the green, the temporary green is horrible, and hard to adjust the distance. The course overall is fair. I will wait for few weeks before go back again. and hopefully all the green will be finished by then.

Played here on 8/8/05. $25 on golf949.com at 1:00 PM. It had been a few years since I had been here and I have to say that I am kicking myself for not getting back here sooner. Greens were in excellent shape as were the fairways. Sand traps were above average. Only area that I can say that needs improvement is the rough which needed to be cut down in a few spots. Finished in 3.5 hours.

Played here 04/25/05 for the first time. Played quite well, so it must be a great track!! The course very scenic and in good condition. Sand traps perfect, tee boxes mostly level, greens free of ball marks and about 80% back from aeration. Lots of trees to interfere with errant trajectories, but I like the way the lower branches have been cleared so you can be underneath one and still make a shot. I will be back.

Course is recovering well from aeration. Fairways are lush, tee boxes aren't too bad, rough is growing out nicely, sandtraps are filled with frsh sand. These course will be playing great in two weeks. Mountains in the back are are a gorgeous sight. Pace today 4 hours which was ubelievable, people watching the Masters and don't like punched greens.

I never really liked this course, although it does have a few interesting holes. The course was in reasonably decent condition, so it wasn't that. maybe it's because we ALWAYS get off late and then it ALWAYS takes close to, or more than five hours to play. In all fairness to the course, it is in better shape than I can rememeber it being in.

I played Indian Hills yesterday and playing San Dimas Canyon was not that much different. Both are really nice courses. San Dimas greens are not taken care of. It is dry and very fast and unpredictable. Its a shame because the rest of the course is beautiful.

As I mentioned before, personally I don't like this course such as customer service & very slow play(tee time over sale) etc. These questions they didn't defrauded me.Reserved sat.1/29/05 at 12;20 but we teed off 12;45 and first 9 holes took us about 3 hours. Many people doesn't care about the good manner of golf here. Some shouted conversation you can here from other group."Hey Joe where's my ball." "Titleist 4 is yours?""Yes" " Here. under the tree" "ohh! xxxx" And "FOREEEE" you can listen every minute.Really this course seems like flea market. Talking about course conditions now is the best I ever seen.Lush fairway ,good cared greens are medium/fast with mountain breaks, receptive & good rolling.Good course but not managed well, Lamentably.

Played on Jan 1. First time on this course and to be honest I loved it. Greens and Fairways were in great shape, tee boxes could have a little more attention payed to them. Was as cold of weather I have ever played in, but it didn't detour from a great round of golf.

All in all, not bad for a Monday. Not too crowded and the winds stayed down. Not the most challenging layout, but the greens are in good shape and played well.

Walked on as a twosome and immediately got on. Front 9 took 3 hours to play and barely finished. Fun layout that will challenge your tee shots and approaches. If you haven't played here before be cautious when driving a cart. The cartpath will cross or align itself along a few tee boxes.

Played 9-25 at 3:00. Course in decent shape, nothing spectacular, but nothing bad either. Did not see the back nine as play was so slow we played the front again. I like this course, interesting set up, with some tough holes, short but you need to be accurate, lots of trees.

Good Course, PLayed a 3some in about 4 hours at 4:00. No waiting at all, and got to the 17th hole when it started getting dark. Not great greens, but a good course overall

Nice course but the four or fives times I've played it (usually early morning during the week) the pace is SLOW. Might have had one round under 4 1/2 hrs but expect about 5 - 5 1/2 as that seems to be the norm.

Course was in relatively good shape, played 5/16/04, right after last group of small tournament. Pace was slow, pin placements somewhat difficult. Definitely an iron type of course, was too long for some holes which unless shaping shots off tees with driver will tend to leave you in trouble. Nice course, too small driving range. Greens a little bumpy, slow pace of play. Would try again on another day, hopefully a little quicker pace, since waiting on too many holes ruined tempo of game.

Caught the tail end of their email special of $10 a round due to punched greens. The greens are coming back nicely, but are still running on the slow side. With the heatwave, some of the fairways are getting extra water, which also causes sogging bunkers. Still had a great time out there.

This course was in great shape and a pleasure to play. The service was excellent and very accomodating. The fairways were lush and the rough was well maintained. The greens were fast and rolled true. The only slight blemish were the sand traps that had little sand on top of the pa
