Played with the Meetup/LAGolfGroup 3-club event on Sunday. This is a small par 60 course. It appears that there is a distinct lack of t.l.c. given to many parts of the course. The greens were decent: fast and mostly smooth. However, there were a lot of ball marks and related ball mark damage from old, unrepaired ball marks. In addition, the pins were placed in very difficult positions on the greens, making putting almost comical at times. One pin (hole 11) was placed about two paces from the back, at the top of a steep slope. My group had a couple of guys hit five putts each on this par three. The tee boxes are narrow and longish, allowing for many different placements from front to back. Unfortunately, they are almost all unlevel. Fairways and rough are mostly dormant bermuda and kikuyu, thin, with many bare areas. On hole 9, a good tee shot rolled backward down the fairway because it was so thin. Sand was thin and brown. Typical of muni courses in the L.A. area. The price was right: we paid $18 to walk on a weekend. The pro shop person was nice enough.
