Westlake Village golf course is a par 67 executive golf course adjacent to the 101 highway. It’s a great little track with many forced carries over water hazards, tight tree lined fairways, and relatively challenging greens. I’ve played the course probably 50 times and it’s always an interesting round. On the weekends expect 4 ½ hour plus rounds despite the course’s shortness. One of the reasons for the common long rounds could be the allowance of fivesomes.
As for the playing conditions, the greens were super soft, a little bumpy and slow but the fairways and rough are as lush as they will likely get. Normally, the turf is on the thin side due to lack of overseeding and other factors. But for the next couple months things should be pretty green.
Overall this is not a destination golf course by any stretch. And most of you reading this review already know that. However, the layout provides a thought provoking round and easy walk so for what it is, I think it’s a fine place to play.
