Met up with my buddy and his wife at Terranea, Course was beautiful and the views of Catalina and the Pacific even better. Fairways were lush and the rough was thick around the bunkers, Sand was soft in the bunkers. I should know since i found the beach on multiple shots. The greens were fast and the tee boxes were even but the ground was hard. The staff was great and tee time were staged 15 minutes apart. For a 9 hole par 3 $55 may seem expensive but when every hole overlooks the Pacific and one can see grey whales from the tee box it's hard to beat.

played 11-2-14, in the morning. We were lucky to have absolutely perfect weather conditions, with a clear view of the entire ocean and Catalina. A gentle breeze which also added to the resort like ambiance. This was my first time playing here, and although we played at a discounted rate of $37, I think the price is still a little too high for what you get -- 9 par 3s, several quite short, combined with awesome ocean views and pristine greens. The greens actually were quite fast but after a few holes, got used to the speed somewhat. The greens are generally quite big and they are protected by many deep bunkers; luckily, I avoided them entirely. POP is not an issue, and this is one of those, play-it-once kind of places and/or take visiting friends/family for a non-serious round of golf by the ocean.

Where do you play when it's 100+ degrees everywhere? Decided to try out this course. First time playing here and enjoyed it very much. Playing from the "tips" there are several pretty good holes. The greens are quite interesting and presented a formitable challenge if you were above the pin or "short sided" yourself. That coupled with the bunkering made this a decent little par 3 course.

Needless to say the views are incredible. I thought that playing near the coast would be cooler, which I guess it was, but let me tell you it was still really hot out there. The course is a lot of fun but a long way (time/distance from home) and $40 to walk a short par 3 course is rather pricey. (I guess they can justify the course to have a Trump National experience at a fraction of the price)

Glad I played here. Staff was perfect and it only took the wife and I about an hour to play. Is it worth it, well maybe once on a beautiful day to enjoy the vistas

From the tee box, most holes have a bunker to hit over to reach the green. The greens run smooth. The course is a little hilly but walkable. No driving range but has a chipping area and putting green. Will replay soon.

Had a nice and quick round today. Tee boxes were not level at all and a lot of divots. Greens were nice. Sand bunkers were in perfect condition, lots of sand and fluffy. I was in a lot of them and they were all good. Water was provided on every hole. Pace of play was excellent. This 9 hole par 3 is not easy. Great views on every hole, we were lucky to have had great weather, it was nice and clear. Tees and ball markers are complimentary. Staff was nice and friendly.

Played a fun 9 today. This is a 9 hole, par 27 links course at the beautiful Terranea resort. I enjoy coming here once a year or so. It's a quick fun round on a good challenging par 3 course. A great mix of holes and tees range from a couple at 175 and down to 104. All have their own unique feel. Maintenance was good with smooth fast greens, few ball marks, decently thick rough and fantastic sand traps. Traps are placed in the perfect spots for errant shots, which I had many today. Super fun to hit out of. Views are incredible as you see the water from every hole. Got a good deal on EZ Links, which is more the price it should be than the regular rack rate. Make a day of it and eat there at the resort. Again, awesome views of the pool and the ocean from the restaurant. Only complaint is the back tees really aren't level and very worn from divot marks. Guess they were in the same spot all weekend, but tees could use a rolling. Also, warm up nets are now part of the lesson area, so no possible warm up kinda sucks. Definitely recommend course though.

Played yesterday in brutal windy conditions. I got a chance to hit six iron on several holes, sometimes twice a hole. It was a fun and challenging 65 minutes hitting two or three balls while trying to stay between groups at this small resort course. Everything was in great shape from the tees to the greens. There was a nice fairway/approach cut leading to most holes, making it easier to bounce into the greens during this wind storm. Great views and quick greens make this a fun and challenging course. There is a great short game practice area that is available to registered guests at the resort. Do look for a discount tee time, it is not worth the rack rate.

If there is such a thing as a "must-play" par-3 course, Terranea is it. Had the pleasure of playing here today and absolutely loved this little gem. Their normal rack rates are way too high as part of the resort and RPV location, but tee time deals can be found online quite a bit through GN or ezlinks. I used ezlinks and with an additional 25% off promo code they sent this week, it was only $17. Worth every penny for 9 holes. I played a second nine for a replay rate of $18. However, they mentioned that normally they won't give you a replay rate if you got a discounted time for your first round. I don't care for this policy and it's worth noting. That's really the only negative thing I have to say about this place. Luckily, they gave me the rate since it wasn't too crowded. Otherwise, this is such a fun little course. Hilly, but easy to walk with a pull cart or carrying your bag. It's like Trump National and Pacific Dunes (Bandon) had a little baby together. Awesome views on the peninsula, cool links style layout. Holes range from about 100 to 175 yards, so decent mix of shots. Great landscaping. A real treat on every level, especially with the right deal. Good short game practice area, too, with large putting green and several small chipping greens. No range, but they had a small tent with a mat and a nice swing monitor, presumably for lessons. Conditions were very nice. Great grass on tee boxes, fairway/run-off areas and rough. Excellent soft beach sand in bunkers. Greens a little firm and thin, but fitting for a seaside links style course. Plenty of unrepaired ball marks and a few unraked traps, though, which is kind of an unfortunate side effect of the fact that much of this course's play comes from resort guests (casual golfers who may not follow GK-level etiquette). Minor issues, though, because the course is fun, beautiful, unique and enjoyable on all levels. I know some will dismiss this course as a 9-hole par-3 track, but if you do you're missing out. Don't worry about your index and just enjoy a really fun round on a fantastic little course! Great for a warm-up or cool-down round if playing Trump right down the street.

Second time at the resort, but first time playing the par 3 course. The website states this is the 2nd best par 3 course in the country, and i would agree. Not sure which course is number 1 (maybe augusta par 3 course) but this ones a gem. Not a difficult course, but the views are outstanding. Panoramic views of the ocean, catalina and the resort of Terranea. Length of the holes were about 110 yards to 175 yards with bunkers guarding each green. Probably the best bunkers i played in the past few years. Greens were in good shape with good speed to them. Not sure i would pay the full rack rate, but i've seen many deals online for this course. Great resort to have a bite to eat and walk around.
