Went out Saturday at 2:00 after being told no problems course has many openings. Course was jammed. Took an hour to play 2 holes,at least 3 forsomes waiting from hole # 2 forward. Spoke with the marshall about the backup who shook her head and drove out to see what the delay was. We did not see her again. Our group went back to the clubhouse to see about a replay due to the back ups. I doubt we would have gotten more than 5 or 6 holes in. After some phone calls the starter gave us a rain check to play at a later date. I thought this was very fair.

The course has been slipping across the summer. It seems as if there are more drainage issues every time we come to play. We do play because of the inexpensive greens fees.

Fine course. Lots of bunkers. Tricky greens. Overall a good place to hone your short game. Plus you can still hit your driver for 3-4 of the Par-4's. For $22 to walk, it's not a bad deal. I'd definately play here again.

The starter is NOT the most charming of fellows and is slow and deliberate in his demeanor. For an American Golf Corp. course, it's one of the better one's in Orange County. The fairways are pretty much wide open, and the traps well placed along the course. Water doesn't come into play much, but there are a few draining ditches that can make play "interesting." The greens are tricky and not an easy read. The course looks to be drying out a bit and could stand more water then it's getting. Ball divots on the greens were too often poorly repaired, or not even touched. (I blame this on the players more than the course managers!!) We teed off at about 11 AM and didn't have any problems with groups ahead or behind us. Zero wait on any tee box until the 17th hole. This is still a fun course to play and I will be back. I just hope that American gets the course in a little better shape.

Short course though it has pretty tricky greens... rough spots here and there, but for 22 bucks what did you expect? Only problem I had was that it was crowded, backed up on every single hole... got to the point that the people behind me and in front of me agreed upon hitting into eachother to hury up the course... needless to say, I'm pretty agile.

I was a bit suprised at the price when I saw the condition of the course. It was decent. A tad bit crowded. I would play there again.

I played Casa Del Sol in Sunday, June 22 with a 7:37 AM tee time. The starter also was running the pro shop and was certainly not the most amiable individual I've met recently.

The course was in fairly good condition, but not quite as I would have expected. The tees were in OK shape with some divots but not terrible. The fairways had a bare spot here and there but again, for the most part playable. I think the thing that struck me the most was the condition of the greens. It appeared that NO ONE ever heard of repairing ball marks on the greens. It was sad to see that greens that were in otherwise nice shape having divots all over the greens.

The course was otherwise enjoyable, had a few interesting holes, and few tricky greens (divots not withstanding) I noticed that there was an ambassador roaming throughout the course while we were playing. We never got backed up for too long ( a couple of minutes on only a few holes) and we knocked out the round in about 2 3/4 hours. About what I would have expected for a course of this size. I would like to get out there and play a round again when I find time. I just hope that the greens are in better shape then they were on THIS occasion.

The only course I am aware that does not recognize frost, meaning they allow you tee off regardless of how frozen it is. Not a bad thing when everywhere else is closed. That said, conditions are not all that bad, in fact the greens are quire decent. The starter (mike) has an "attitude". although he appeared friendly to the "locals" which I was not one of. Can't complain, I was able to play when everywhere else said no!

Pretty descent course. The lady at the counter was a bit rude and short with her customers (me). The marshall kept hurrying our 4 some even though we invited the 2some behind us to go in front. The 2some refused. Some tough holes.

Played Casta Del Sol Golf Course in Costa Mesa, CA on May 28th, Memorial Day. Great weather and paid $23 per person on the Monday due to holiday rates otherwise it would have been $16.00. Great challenging course even though only par 61/62 due to challenging greens and hilly fairways. Not a lot of players after 2:00 p.m. so was able to play the entire course in under 4.5 hours with 5 players and waiting for one group ahead of us. The course was in good shape though expect a lot of rabbits and ducks which has a few smelly lakes. Did see on back to back holes in the middle of the fairways and tees one decapitated crows head and on next tee a dead rabbit. Need marshalls to be on the look out more. Other than dead animals the course looks nice with nice views and great price. If you live in So. O.C. and choosing Casta Del Sol vs. Lake Forest Golf & Practice center during the weekdays, pay the extra $3 and play CDS, you won't be disappointed.

This course used to be kept in much better condition than it presently is. Many bare spots; dried out fairways and generally poor conditions. Curious why the mangement doesn't make the investment to improve the conditions.

When everywhere else is closed due to frost, this is the place to play! I guess they do not acknowledge frost? The fairways are all dormant and reflect the condition, but the greens are excellent, which is what's most important anyway. While certainly not much of a challenge, it is a fun little place to play when everywhere says ... closed due to frost!

Very fun course to play. Worth the green fees, even though its not regulation size. Snack bar has great hot dogs. Watch out on the front nine, for flying golf balls. 1-9 are very close together. Back 9 opens up a bit more.
