Played 8/24/10. Course is in very good condition, with exception of rough on some holes, which still had aeration 'pellets' on top of grass. Otherwise, fairways are very nice, if you can hit them. Many narrow holes here, makes the course a good challenge, even at only 6000 yards. Greens were rolling nicely, smooth with minimal picth marks, except on a coupls of the short par 3's. Very good customer service, cart girl came by every 4 holes or so. Good deals when you opt in on the e-mail club. Always enjoy this course.

I played this course on Aug/21/2010, and the course is in a good shape. This course is absolutely challenging because of narrow fairways and the unique course layout. Some players may not like this course but I liked it!! In fact, the course layout made me feel that I was in the middle of wild hills. I couldn’t believe that they degisned such a lovely scenery course in the middle of city. I couldn’t feel that I was in the middle of city through the entire course. Although fairway was in a decent shape with a little more improvement required, tee boxes/bunkers were in a good shape, and the green was nearly in a perfect shape. The serivce was good.. I had to replace the cart twice because one was for the flat tire and the other was for the GPS problem. I requested the new cart through the GPS, and they reponsed it and replaced the cart within 10 minutes. I would like to go back and played it more times, but the green fee is expensive. Is worth it? I would say, “50:50”. However, this is absolutely one of the courses where you must go and play in SOCAL!!

Play for $29 special on July 4th. Tee boxes were in decent shape. Fairways were decent with many brown spots. Greens were lightning fast and tricky. This course is short, but super tight. Quite a bit of forced carries. Pace was play was great. 4.5 hours. They closed the snack shop at 5 pm...what the.....will come back..but not for more than $40.

Played for the first time on 05/30/10 from the tips for $49 teed off at 4pm. Course is very scenic with many elevated tees and great views from both LA and OC. I should have left my driver at home very narrow short course with OB or enviormental hazzards. Most tee shots only require a long iron off tee or a fairway wood off tee. Greens where probably rolling around 8. I played late in the afternoon so the cups did show some wear but they rolled well for late in the day. Fairways and bunkers are in good shape. Pace of play was good finished right under 4 hours. Carts have GPS and give info on holes.

Played today 5/17. This was my third time playing here, and the first time in at least 3 or 4 years. I was pleasantly surprised. There was a reasonable rate, the greens ran true, the bunkers were all playable, no complaints at all. I went out alone and finished in just over 2 hours. Played through just about everyone i came up on. The greens look to have been punched in the last 3 or 4 weeks. They ran nice and quick but you can still see where the punches were. The one thing that was kinda funny was on hole 4 my ball was in the fairway, but completely surrounded by sprinklers. I had to use some patience and timing to play the shot, and of course just after i putt out, I see the sprinklers turn off.
This course isn't overly difficult if you just keep the ball in play. Fairly short course, but still challenges you. If they made the greens real fast here, the course would have some fangs. But sign up for their email specials, i got out for a 59 dollar rate..

I played today 02-20-10, I am a 5 handicap and played from the blue markers. My overall review of this course is not good and a complete disappointment. The condition of the greens was horrible and the cups were the worst condition I have ever seen (too many ball marks, the cups as we were told are not changed for the weekend play) and the course setup was like they let the first group set it up as they went along. When you read the card online it looks impressive, but when you get there an start making your way through you find each hold is the same with distance. Each par 4 is either 350 or 370, not a single par 4 was over 400 yards. There were only 2 par 5's with distance of 417 and 429 according to my carts GPS. So for a weekend rate of $125 is WAY too much for this course.

I have been playing Coyote Hills for a few years now and have always been happy with the condition of the course. They have bermuda fairways that they dont overseed for the winter and of course bermuda goes dormant. This adds to an already very challenging course. I have never seen the greens in better shape (normally in great shape). They do overseed the rough with rye grass, which for about a week its like the U.S. open until they can mow. Again, another challenge. The pace is always fast (4-4 1/2 hours). The service is outstanding. From the minute you get there until you leave everybody is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They bring the cart to my car if I dont stop at the bag drop. I like that. Also, you can find great rates for this place which always helps. I suggest getting on thier email list. Anyway, great place, great views and again, kind of challenging!!

Just played Coyote Hills for the first time. Was disappointed in the condition of the fairways and tee boxes; otherwise, it was a nice course. Just wanted to comment on the staff at the course, they were excellent, especially Pat who was the driving range staff member the day I was at the course. She was friendly and very polite.
