I played today 02-20-10, I am a 5 handicap and played from the blue markers. My overall review of this course is not good and a complete disappointment. The condition of the greens was horrible and the cups were the worst condition I have ever seen (too many ball marks, the cups as we were told are not changed for the weekend play) and the course setup was like they let the first group set it up as they went along. When you read the card online it looks impressive, but when you get there an start making your way through you find each hold is the same with distance. Each par 4 is either 350 or 370, not a single par 4 was over 400 yards. There were only 2 par 5's with distance of 417 and 429 according to my carts GPS. So for a weekend rate of $125 is WAY too much for this course.

I have been playing Coyote Hills for a few years now and have always been happy with the condition of the course. They have bermuda fairways that they dont overseed for the winter and of course bermuda goes dormant. This adds to an already very challenging course. I have never seen the greens in better shape (normally in great shape). They do overseed the rough with rye grass, which for about a week its like the U.S. open until they can mow. Again, another challenge. The pace is always fast (4-4 1/2 hours). The service is outstanding. From the minute you get there until you leave everybody is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They bring the cart to my car if I dont stop at the bag drop. I like that. Also, you can find great rates for this place which always helps. I suggest getting on thier email list. Anyway, great place, great views and again, kind of challenging!!

Just played Coyote Hills for the first time. Was disappointed in the condition of the fairways and tee boxes; otherwise, it was a nice course. Just wanted to comment on the staff at the course, they were excellent, especially Pat who was the driving range staff member the day I was at the course. She was friendly and very polite.

First time playing here on 9/28. Paid $49 at golfnow.com for an early tee time. The greens were being punched that day so I cannot fairly rate but let me say I was underwhelmed by the rest of the course. Fairways were brown and dry with many pathces around greens. Tee boxes were not level. Most of the LA county courses are in better condition and they charge 1/3 the price that Coyote Hills does. At $49 (even if greens were fine) I would still be disappointed but if I paid over $100 I would be furious. Needless to say, I will not be back.

PLAYED 9/28 TEED OFF AT 6:20AM. I GOT THEIR AT 5:40 LIGHTS WHERE ON AT THE RANGE SO I WENT TO THE RANGE BUT OLDER LADY LET ME KNOW THAT IT DON'T OPEN TILL 6 AND SHE WAS NOT VERY FRIENDLY ABOUT IT. MUST OF BEEN A BAD MORNING FOR HER. SO MY BUDDIE SHOWED UP SO WE WENT IN TO PAY. VERY NICE GUY AT THE FRONT COUNTER. HE TOLD US THAT THEIR IS A 4SM IN FRONT OF US BUT THEY PLAY FAST AND ALSO TOLD US THAT WE CAN WAIT TILL IT GETS MORE LIGHT BEFORE WE TEE OFF. SO WE WENT TO THE RANGE TO HIT SOME BALLS THEN THE SAME WITCH THAT GAVE ME ATTITUDE WAS TELLING US TO HURRY UP AND JUST WATHCED US HIT BALLS. I TOLD HER WHAT THE FRONT DESK TOLD US AND SHE SAID "YOU NEED TO GO NOW OR YOU MAY NOT GO TILL LATER". LET ME JUST SAY THIS COURSE IS NOT WORTH THE GREEN FEE THEY ARE ASKING FOR. IT USE TO BE A NICE COURSE BUT SEEMS LIKE THEY ARE LETTING IT GO. LOT'S OF DRY SPOTS AND PATCHES AROUND THE GREEN. WOULD RATHER PLAY MOUNTAIN MEADOWS, DOS LOGOS, LINKS AT SUMMERLY IS 100 TIME BETTER THEN COYOTE HILLS. I WOULD SAY STAY AWAY TILL THEY BRING THE FEES DOWN TO $40 BUCKS. PAYNE STEWART WOULD NOT BE VERY HAPPY TO SEE WHAT THIS COURSE IN TURNED INTO.

Played 9/9/09, got on with a red dot coupon for $50. I wouldn't pay the rack rate of $100 unless I had to. Saw some golfnow.com specials for the same rate of $50. Customer service was great and very accomodating. Course was nice for the time of year, some brown spots in the fairways. Some of the greens were aerated, but they didn't do all of them yet. Light sand on some of the greens. Greenside sand traps were nice and fluffy. Rough was very short and didn't penalize you at all. Overall the course was nice for the $50 price.
