First time back on the South course since June 6th. The course has been closed due to heavy maintenance: punched and heavy sanded all the fairways and releveled all the tee boxes. Many of the tees are still closed. Several holes remain carts on path.

It would probably be more appropriate for me to wait another month and see how the fairways "grow in", but right now they are just awful. I have been a member for over 30 years and we have punched fairways numerous times, never have we had the course closed for such an extended time period, followed by carts on path for weeks, then to see how poor the end result is, at least at this point in time. We have been promised that within a few weeks the course should be "great". I hope so, because they close the North starting tomorrow to perform the same "improvement" there ! But for now - not impressed.

Greens were good, but considering the course was closed for two weeks and then had very limited play, I would have expected them to be better. Tee boxes that were open were great. Looking forward to having all 18 tees open again.

First out on a drizzly overcast morning. The course had been closed for a few days to host the "Windmill Classic" so it was as expected in nice shape, except for the tee boxes, which are fair at best. They will be completely redone within the next 60 days I'm told.

Greens were nice, but lacked the speed they normally have? Fairways have good coverage, rough is still hit/miss. Bunkers as always are excellent. Once they resolve the tee boxes, the course should be just fine.

Not very busy today? Maybe the weather, maybe because everyone had just played three days in the Windmill Classic? Works for me.

First out on a very busy morning. With the North course still closed due to aeration, there are 1000 members vying for tee times on the South. Greens have still not fully recovered from the punching, which was four weeks ago. Unacceptable ! Generally 2-3 weeks is all it takes. Hope the North course recovers more quickly ?

Otherwise the overall condition of the course is fine. Blue tees on #6 is beat up and is temporarily closed. News is that rakes will be made available beginning 4/20/21. About time. Also those horrible contraptions attached to the pins will be removed.

Looking forward to both courses open and getting into "summer shape"

Made certain I played the South course this morning as they will be doing some heavy maintenance on the course, including aeration of the greens with large holes and lots of topdressing.

Course is in vary nice condition right now, which always seems to be the case just prior to these scheduled maintenance closures. To my surprise, course was rather empty today, despite decent weather and the fact the course will be closed for a while ?

First out as usual on a breezy cool morning, The South course is generally much less windy than the North course, which proved to be the case this morning. Because of the wind, everything was dry and there was plenty of run out in the fairways, which are still nice and green with good coverage. Greens were not as quick as I expected given the conditions, but still probably around 10 on the stimp.

Bunkers still excellent. Tee boxes for the most part are good, but the Bermuda rough needs attention. Maybe when we get some heat it will fill in ? Overall course is in nice shape and a pleasure to play.

Trying to play the South course a little more now, because with the anticipated rains forecast for next week, the crossovers on the south tend to flood and too often they close the course to allow the waters to subside. Course is in very nice shape right now, and the greens are not nearly as fast as the North Course, which border on unfair at times. Much more playable. Fairways have good coverage, bunkers have plenty of well manicured sand. Some tee boxes are showing wear from all the play however, and the Bermuda rough needs to be better managed.

Seems like play has decreased a bit over the past few weeks, at least during the early morning, which is a plus.

There has been frost almost every morning, but since the first tee time is at 7am, and the new policy is that there are no restrictions for walkers, but they keep carts on the path until 8 to 8:30 dep... Continue »

There has been frost almost every morning, but since the first tee time is at 7am, and the new policy is that there are no restrictions for walkers, but they keep carts on the path until 8 to 8:30 depending upon the severity of the frost. (All carts have GPS capability to restrict fairway access when programed) This is a great improvement over years past when they just closed until the frost disappeared)

Greens are very quick right now, but at least manageable on the South. (North greens are ridiculously fast to the point of being unfair at times) Fairways still very green and lush. Bunkers are excellent as are the tee boxes. The grass in the rough is "clumpy" and not very playable. This needs to be addressed.

Busy time of year, but the cold mornings have allowed easier access to early tee times.

As always first off, which is great, but the cold temperatures do not help these old bones, plus the ball just doesn't fly far in these cold conditions. The fairways have grown in very nicely from the recent over seeding, so they are very lush, which looks and plays nice, but does not provide much roll out, so that condition combined with the cold and old age makes the course play extra long. Greens are excellent, roll very true and reasonably quick. Bunkers are great, but still can't get past not being able to rack them !

Rough is the worst part of the course, not that it's bad, it's just the rest of the course is so good, so I guess I notice it more. A few tee boxes could use some attention.

Because the North course has been and continues to be closed, the South is very busy and gets a lot of play, but it is holding up well.

Finally able to get back out on the South course after it being closed for nearly a month due to over seeding and aeration. (A very common theme now at Coto) While the course was in nice condition, the fairways are still a few away from what I hope they will be. (Very young grass still) Greens for the most part were good, but not nearly as good as I would have thought given they were closed for almost 1 month. Bunkers were great, rough was OK. Tee boxes have improved.

Beginning 11/2/20, the North course will close for about a month, so I hope all this "baby" grass can withstand all the play ?
