Nice track but not sure it is worthy of such high ratings. Norman course is best of bunch. Kind of bad restaurants closes so early. wanted food after round and they rushed me out like a drunk in a china shop.

8/16/08, 2nd round of the day (1st at Norman) Pretty hot at 3:45 pm start, 112 degrees. Course was spread out didn't wait but a few times. I like this one much better than Dunes. Picturesque with the mountains along side of you. Cousre played well with the exception of a couple bare spots on greens and some cart part construction on #15. Good for my skill level.

The greens are really firm and fast. The pin placement along with the speed made the course really tough.

Far better than the Dunes, the Mountain had faster, smoother greens. No real complaints - there was even a cart girl in the late afternoon. The course was empty, but the thing that really surprised us was that there was virtually no yardage markings! You had the 100-150-200, but that was about it - you had to pace everything off and that caused us lots of grief and aggrevation :(

I remember when this was a private course and we could only play Dunes course and the other one. Finally we played Mountain and for a good rate also due to mid summer and we had the golf pass-book. This course was in great shape and VERY CHALLENGING for me atleast. Was very scenic but if you seen one Mountain in Palm Springs you seen them all. But if you played the other two Laquinta courses on property then you must play this one, worth the money.

Played 12/3/06 . . . the course did not quite live up to the hype as being the most scenic and dramatic course in CA, but it almost did! With expectations so high it's tough to judge accurately, but it just doesn't feel as high class as the PGA West courses. I would play there again but don't get a tingle thinking about it, maybe I'll have a more favorable impression next time, but yes it is very dramatically beautiful so bring your camera!

Course has some really nice holes with spectacular scenario. The condition was not as good as I expected, with some barren areas in a few fairways and very dried out greens. I found the two courses I played at PGA West to be in much better shape.

I hate desert golf (no trees, ocean). But this course is in my top 5 in California. I just love the layout and the views. Expensive but worth it.

Other than incredibly SLOW greens, course in very good condition. They need some time to speed up and I would wait before playing here for about amonth.

Played Sunday 7/24/05 @ 7A. A pretty fun course overall. Very hard to say the least. First of all, I do not recommend playing there this time of year. There were more flies that buzzed all over you at a pretty constant rate that I have ever seen or felt in my life.....and because of the hurricane in Cancun area the humidity was off the chart. ( It's 99 degrees by 7AM and we were sweating before we even teed off. This is a Pete Dye course and as you may or may not know he is a sick individual. There are many sand traps pot bunkers etc...rough is 5 inches in some areas. If you do not hit pretty straight for the most part you will be penalized. However, the back nine was pretty awesome. Scenic as you play right in between the mountains...
