A little warm but clouds made it bearable. Course is in great shape considering the four months of 100+ temps. Yes the greens are a little shaggy but they have to be. Nick Faldo layout definately catering to the resort guest, some of these fairways were 100 yds wide, every time I missed one bad it still managed to find the fairway. plenty of trouble and severe undulations in the greens. still a lot of fun. one of the top desert courses on my list. And only 22 bucks on Golfnow. what a bargain

I really enjoyed this course a lot. The course was in great condition, especially given for the summertime. The layout is nice - not awesome, but pretty good. The fairways were in great condition and so was the rough. The greens were nice but really, really slow. Overall, I had a great time and would recommend it to anybody.

Played here on 5/12. This was my first trip to Palm Desert and Shadow Ridge and what a lovely place this is. The winds were howling this day and coming from the east coast its a new experience to have 90 degree temps combined with a 3 club wind. The course first of all is in beautiful condition and maintained perfectly. I didn't have time to use the practice facility but it sure looked fabulous. I struck the ball well on the front nine but managed to hit the fairway bunkers too often as they seemed to be everywhere. I played from the green(next to back tees) tees and maybe I'd play the tips the next time. The greens are medium speed and thank goodness for that due to their undulations. I played great on the back nine and made some career shots and carded 3 birds and a one under 35. I hit every club in the bag on this course so its never boring or repetitive. The people here wer very friendly and helpful. Go and play here for a really nice day.

Played last friday, and the whole place is just spectacular. It was cold, and we got rained on the first 18 off and on, but the 2nd 18 after lunch was awesome, sun and clear skies. Pace was very good. Guys in pro shop very professional, starter was totally cool. Range was awesome. I almost didn't want to leave to go to the first tee. Wanted to hit balls there all day. The Wedge range is absolutely brilliant.

Tees, fairways are lush and green, green and more green. Healthy grass is nice. Greens are smooth and not the fastest around but fast enough. The undulations on the greens are difficult to navigate if your approach isn't in the ideal position, makes for some creative and challenging putting lines. Love the mix of holes. Some long and brutal, some short and sweet. I love this place, very very challenging but fair overall. The closer you get to the hole, the more demanding this place becomes. Cart girl came around many times, and couldn't ask for anything more. The marshal even gave us clean, dry towels on our first 18 holes every 5 or 6 holes to keep dry as it was raining on and off. Nice guy, classy touch to make you feel appreciated. Highly recommend Shadow Ridge Resort. 2 big thumbs up.

Fun layout and some crazy holes...some very difficult, others fair and fun. A very diverse layout...not sure waht Faldo's style is because it was all over the map here. Still, etnertaining. The crew who manages the course seems like they're just mailing it in. It wasn't bad, but it didn't compare at all to several other courses we played. So, in summary...it's a good course to add to your desert mix...you won't be disappointed. It's just not at the same level as Firecliff, The Classic, The Player's Course, or The Mountain (for public options). In case you're wondering why I've chosen these and none of the PGA WEst courses...those things are over-priced and just way too unfair to enjoy.

Played Sat 11/24, wind wind wind. The tee box was ok not great. The fairway grass was hard. The green was firm, it's hard to stop the ball if you're not accurate, a lot of undulating. 8 out of 10 balls rolled-out to french. I guess Nick Faldo wants to show the world his first design golf course. I don't see a lot of people laughs and smiles on this course. Certainly, I won't come back here again. This golf course is fit for PGA Qschool but not for amateur or weekend golfer.

Great resort style layout with wide open fairways and plenty of sand to keep it interesting. Greens can be very tricky at parts. Too much spin on your ball definitely can hurt you here. A very fun place to play. However, today was last day before month long overseeding process. Course was being dried out in preparation. I would highly recommend getting out on this track after it is complete.

For summer time in the Palm Springs area the course was in very good condition. The greens were a little slow. The staff was very helpful and we saw the food cart quite often. The groups were spread out enough that we only saw the group ahead of us a few times.

Greens were impossible to put on, with the greens patchy and slow due to the weather they became much much worse when they were punched. The layout was nice. They had recently punched the parts of the fairways also, the sand and tee boxes were in really good shape.

This Nick Faldo designed course offers lots of excitement for high handicappers and lots of room for duffers to land.

GREAT resort golf course. Excellent greens that rolled consistently, ample fairways, water hazards in play on multiple holes, well-groomed bunkers. Cart girl had an annoyingly squeaky voice, but came around several times. Played from the whites with a couple of vacationing gentlemen from Canada and had an absolutely great time. Definitely put this one on the list to play multiple times, although I am not sure what the rate was as I had a coupon for a free round from their golf school (which was also excellent) from the previous summer. Probably the BEST practice facilities I have ever seen.

Very good golf course. I certainly would recommend the course. Great variety of holes, very challenging greens, very good bunkers and a fair course off the tee, it has it all. Just enough water and creeks. Great condition.

Played the course on 20 Nov. The course opened after aeration and overseeding on 4 Nov and is in excellent condition. Tough but fun couse to play. If you are in the Palm springs area this is a must course to play.

Played on 7/08 and it was hot!!! Nevertheless, overall I enjoyed the course. The service was very good and the practice facilities were overwhelmingly great. Huge driving range with an outstanding chipping/pitching section and enough practice greens to suit a tournament. The golf course has a very enjoyable layout. It's not overly difficult with Faldo's huge fairways. I am telling you it is near impossible to miss a fairway on this course. The tee boxes, fairways, and rough are perfect. The problem was that the greens are recovering from aeration and the bunkers were pretty poor in some sections. They are bare and not well groomed. If you are a low to mid handicapper, don't expect too much of a challenge. Each hole is pretty straight forward. Holes 9, 10, 16 and 18 are excellent and the standouts of the course. Enjoy the twilight prices while you can. I won't go overboard on this course but I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some solid Palm Springs golf.

Had to get away from the desert springs resort fiasco and play somewhere decent. Course is very fair and has many false fronts and bunkers. Very fun to play, greens were good for this time of the year and overall conditions were excellent.

Absolutely amazing course! Worth sweating in 115 degree weather to play. Treated us like royalty. Greens will be punched in 2 weeks so get out there now.

Played 6/21 at 6:30 AM as a single. 1 word. Awesome. The course is one of my favorites ever. No 2 holes are the same, and each has it's own challenges without being ridiculously penal. The fairways are usually very generous, and there is always a bail out spot, as well as a reward for pulling off the huge, accurate drive. There are reachable and unreachable par 5's, as well as short an long par 3's and 4's, with the 4's having some straight and some doglegs. A great mix. Greens and bunkers are tough but fair. Not much OB on the course, but plenty of sand and water and none of that stupid "environmentally sensitive area" BS. The best practice facilities I've ever seen matched only by the excellent and accomodating staff. A truly great day.

Played it TODAY, 06-19-06. A great course! Great service. Course played very-very well. I think they said they will punch the greens on the 27th...? Great rates!!! Worth the drive from L.A., front and back on same day... even if I'm not doing that... LOL!

Lots of fun!

Beautiful course. Fun layout.

Killer bunkers, look worse than they play.

Everything in pretty decent shape, and the price is right in the summer. The greens were very slow, I assume because they let them grow to keep them from drying to death in the heat. The tee boxes could use a little flattening, but not too bad. Fairways, bunkers, rough all great.

Oh, did I mention it was hot? Heh, heh.

We usually find this course in good shape even in the summer. However, this time it wasn't quite as good. It is an interesting layout so it was still worth playing.
