It's hard to beleive this was the home of the Skins Game for four years, not a bad course they are in overseed mode the fairways are very dry and being scalped. The layout was not that impressive, All the holes just kind of look the same to me. I guess I am getting in a desert golf rut. time to head back to the IE.

Course was in excellent condition. I am very impressed with how well conditioned this course was considering the heat of the C.V. An excellent desert layout. Water comes into play on a few holes. Challenging but very playable. I recommend this course.

Played 4/9/08 and what a course! The greens had to be running about 9.5 to 10 and true. Played in the after noon for $80.00 with a 2:00 t-time and little wind. We all like the course and we will play it again.

The greens, ... The greens,... The greens! Call before playing about the greens. If they are slow, stay away. I hit the ball beautiful all day, but had 36 putts. Note: I have a 7.8 handicap. Other than that, the course is well maintained and the pace of play is usually good. The layout is interesting, challenging, but fair. Try to play this course at around the 50 to 60 $ level.

P;ayed Trilogy on 7/9/07 and was disappointed with the quality of the greens. Mowed down low and dime size yellow spots on virtually all of the greens. Greens were bumpy and not rolling as a 10 on the stimpmeter as listed on pro shop counter. More like an 8.
Got a discounted rate of $46 off the PS teetimes and thought that was too much. This week they're advertising a $19 rate after 10am for some teetimes.
Holes 17 & 18 were the most exciting holes on the course. Easy course
for the PGA Pros. Frankly, I was disappointed with the product.

For those that say the desert conditions are the same everyday--they need to travel to the Coachella Valley.

Played Trilogy in the last week in March on three different days with three different types of conditions. First day, overcast, breezy with "showers" late in our round and temps in the mid to high 60's. 2nd day was sunny, no breeze and low 90's. 3rd day was overcast, slight breeze and 85.

Course is well laid out with no hidden shots. 5 sets of tees give all handicaps ample chance to match tee with skill level. Fairways very well marked with distances, making a GPS not necessary. Six sets of hole lacations allows for good variety on approaches.

Quality of course is first rate all around. There were not many "bare" spots and no ground under repair locations that I can remember. Greens were at about an 11 and approaches held very well when put in proper spot. Although there is a 55+ community of homes surrounding about 70% of the course, there is ample space around the course without feeling boxed in. Also, most holes give an independent feeling. Unlike courses like Cimarron and Mesquite where everyone is in everyone elses business, Trilogy, like most quality courses gives one the impression that they are playing golf in solitude.

Customer service was first rate. Ice coolers provided on each cart. Also, get to course early and take advantage of ample practice facilities. On a side note, if you like reggae music, the course sound system seems to have tapped into the all reggae station to keep you loose.

Played 3/11/07 sunday ,first time here.
When my friend called me to play here I really had worries about 2 things .Almost 100 degrees prognoscated weather & 4 hours of roundtrip drive. But I animated by GK's 8.50 point of rating to experience this course" Home of Skins".
I woke up at 5;30 for the tee time of 8;15 (even losing 1 hour of sleep cause of begin of summer time). We were 12 persons & overall conditions was excellent except Greens.
All greens in status of "let it grow cause soon will be aerafied". Really hard pan not hold the ball even you hit the green, shaggy & slow speed even feels like grass stop the ball.
After finished the round 9 some decided to replay and we had lunch at restaurante but overall foods are not so good even one guy's chicken sandwich was so well done 1/4 part was black .Then we teed off at 3;16 again with more temperature & fatigue but ended at 15th hole with sunset & cool air.
Was one day of full golf.

Played Trilogy on Friday 11/10/06. Tee'd off at 1:30pm behind a tournament and got 16 holes in by dark (5:30pm). Paid twilight rate of $57 including cart. Starter, cart gals, bag guys, and pro shop service was outstanding - best we experienced in six rounds over 4 days at top-notch valley courses - a tip of our hat to the Trilogy team for their fantastic service and care for their customers. We had lunch at Azul on-site prior to playing and the food and service was very good as well. My group thoroughly enjoyed the course too. We played Skins in honor of the venue and look forward to seeing the course on TV this Thanksgiving weekend. The track is straight-forward, with generous fairways and greens, fantastic conditioning (we played cart-path only following overseeding), and relatively few hazards unless you really stray off course. It's definately a feel good course - a little less challenging than some of the other fine Valley courses thus you'll score better and go home happier. Green fee rates are outstanding, the service is incredible, the course doesn't beat you up and is in perfect condition - what more could you ask for? A definate must-play, again and again. Great value all-around, can't miss, you won't be disappointed or frustrated here.

Trilogy La Quinta remains a good playing course layout with wide open fairways. Saturday late morning play was fun with some great weather. The black tees were moved up and almost playing by the blue tees with just a few yards difference as they preserve most of the back tees for the LG skins event next week.

"Cart paths ONLY for this week!" To be absolutely sure, call the pro-shop prior to booking a time if you are not fond of dragging a cart around while you play golf.

Generally, the course is in great condition. The practice tees were on the bald side. A tent was occupying a large area and they are really preserving most of it for the up coming event, but not a big deal for someone who comes to play the course and not spend hours of practice. I'm sure they will open the bigger area for practice after they take the tent away.

The fairways have nicely comeback from its annual aerifying and over seeding process to maintain that course in such a gorgeous shape and great playing condition. The greens are kind of bumpy at times and still on the medium slow side.

But it's fun all in all.

Golf Professional Staff behind the counter was the friendliest that I have ever encountered. They were very accomidating and very informative. The person who answered the phone for my reservations was so impressive with his delivery that I just knew he loved his job. I will come back and bring my friends. The whole day was a delight and I shot the best round of the year!

Touted as the course where the Skins Game is held in the fall for the last few years, Trilogy plays much more like the Active Adult Community it anchors. Granted, we played the Gold tees (whites for most people), and the course is way longer from the "Skins Tees" (and there were a few tiny little tee boxes waaay back on a few holes).

It's a nice course, but nothing truly over the top. On the positive side, the conditioning was good, especially the greens, even for middle of the summer. The landscaping is beautiful and though the back nine is lined with homes (as the whole course will be soon), they don't feel that intrusive. And the rate was good, as it was summer rates (which in PS is lower than winter because it's so stinkin' hot).

On the negative, they were punching the fairways on the front nine the morning we played (8/5), and had to deal with the plugs still out on the ground on a couple fairways, and holes on quite a few. Of course, no word about it in the club house. And there is tons of construction all around the course... many many houses going in. So, the noise can be a little distracting, and it sort of takes away from the experience.

We had fun, even though it was mighty toasty, and I managed to play great, which always makes the course seem even nicer. The layout is fun, and not too tough... wide fairways, pretty obvious strategy, and good readable, but not too easy greens.

I'd definitely recommend it if it were in most towns, but in Palm Springs there are lots of great golf courses. Not that I've played many others, but the couple other ones I've tried were definately a step up in the experience catagory. It was fun to play the course we see on TV in the fall, and take a few swings from the Skins tees to see what the Pros see.

I thought the course was in very good shape. It had been recently overseeded, but it played well. The rye had grown in and the course was a beautiful shade of green. There were a few flooded spots, but with the rain who could be blamed. Great Day!!!

Played a 7:30 am shotgun tournament on 6/13. The course was in great shape; what a fun layout. The greens were aerated towards the end of May, but you could tell they were making a comeback. The course is very fair and doesn't have any blind shots. The fairways are generous, but big hitters can get into trouble if they spray the ball. The natural terrain can come into play. The greens seemed to have absolutely no break in them. Every put was fairly straight no matter how it looked. The staff bent over backwards to make us feel welcomed. I'm the president of our club and it's always nice to deal with a staff that makes you feel like they are happy to have you at their course, rather than a burden. To a man, all our members had an absolutely fabulous time at the course. I highly recommend this course. It's always nice to play a course that you see on TV.

Played this golf course on a Saturday afternoon as a single walkon at around 2pm. Got on the golf course immediately with another single. I paid $49 for twilight which starts at 1pm and really felt that it was a super deal. The golf course is fantastic. The greens were a little dry and brown but still rolled really well. Beautiful views and the serene atmosphere of the course makes this one of the premier facilities in La Quinta.

A true gem in the desert. The Springtime course conditions were ideal - nearly perfect. Almost a cliche for perfection, Triolgy has emerald-green gairways and pool-table-felt greens. There are indeed some "casitas" being built around the course, and the construction looks a lttle messy for now - but once it's done, this will be a rival of the best PGA-West has to offer, and it's in the same neighborhood (right down the road)

With all of the tee selections, you can dial Trilogy in to match your game. Choose anything from the "relaxing day of golf in the desert" tees .... to the "fire breathing monster, chew you up and spit you out" tees.

Any tees you choose will guarnatee a fun day of near-perfect golf. There are few "risk/reward" holes - with Trilogy, it's pretty much "what you see is what you get" - but what you get by not keeping the ball down the middle is tough rough, soft white sand bunkers and lakes big enough to water ski on.

I will play this course once per year, at least. I believe it was $99.00 mid-week.

Play this course. You will not be sorry!

We played on a Tuesday...we had an afternoon tee time but arrived ion morning to possibly get out early...they had no problem accomodating us...we never had a group ahead of us nor did we ever see anyone behind (it was a Tuesday, though) ...course is well prepared for the Skins Game later this year..it is in perfect Springtime condition, hopefully it lasts through the summer...They are building homes around the course but the homes on the course are done. You do drive through the construction area between holes but it does not affect the play. The green fees are obviuosly high but a well worth value. Couldn't say more about the value.
