The Pete Dye golf course is at the Westin Mission Hills Resort and is one of two courses open to the public (Gary Player is the other). The Pete Dye is in very good condition and is tougher than most resort courses. Water comes into play on many holes and there are many bunkers which welcome an errant tee or approach shot.

Greens ran true but are a bit slow but overall it is very well maintained. Customer service is outstanding and the temperature barely broke 100F which is great for July.

I think the Gary Player course is more pleasing to the eye and is easier to play but I enjoyed the Pete Dye as well.

Played sun 11/18. Course in great shape. Greens are nice speed. I like this course. It's interesting enough to keep me entertained. #14 is a killer. 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 is a nice group of holes. and 18 is a great finishing hole. The rest of the course is ok. I had a good time.

Typical desert course with nothing remarkable but missed ace by 4 inches.

With so many choices to choose from in the desert, I just wouldn't come back to play here. The course is fairly boring with the exception of the crazy Pete Dye bounces you get from time to time. Play somewhere else, there just too much to choose from out here.

Played as a single and hooked up with another single and we had to wait at every hole. Seemed as though they did not want us to play through any foursomes. Played it again and did not have the same issue. Hit my best round yet. Very fun course challenging at every hole.

Played on 6/10 final day of my club's Championship. A tough course, lots of OB due to houses lining holes. Fair amount of water, and lots of bunkers, only issue were bunkers were more dirt than sand.

Played early Sat. morining, The course is in good shape. The pin placements were tough. Not any easy course to score on. If you play this course shoot for the fat part of the greens. Definately more challenging than its sister course (Player's). Good layout but a track course. Staff are very friendly.

played sun 11/19. Course in GREAT shape. Greens good speed. Bunkers were hard, though!!!! Course management more crucial on this course vs the Player. and Greens are more undulating. Had a good time.

My husband & I have played this course many times and usually just love it. But, beware: the greens are in very poor shape. Besides being bumpy, they have a lot of brown patches. And many greens have a collar of dead grass/dirt surrounding them. This is very unusual - this course is usually terrific. Better check with the pro shop before making a reservation. From what I've heard, the Gary Player course is playing really well.

I played 2 consecutive rounds on the Pete Dye course on Sunday. The course is in excellent condition, with one notable exception - the bunkers were poorly prepped, with deep rake marks and little sand in them. Other than that the greens and the fairways were in spectacular shape. The course is deceiving, it is pretty wide open so you can really take a rip at the ball. However, the courses primary defense is its greens. They are typical Pete Dye....with crowned tops, lots of undulation and an island style green thrown in for good measure. The greens were great in the morning - pretty soft and receptive. By the afternoon round they were hard, firm and fast. I had fewer putts in the afternoon round, but that's because I didn't have as many greens in reg.

Notwithstanding that, I really liked the course and will play it again.

the greens are to tricked up
no way to get the ball in tight
does not reward good shot all have mounds at every angle that kick ball away from the hole

Arrived at saturday 9/3/05 at westin hotel * package played 2;00 p.m. but lamentably we decided to quit after 9 th hole cause of hot weather +105 degrees that feels like you are in sauna. This is a suicide not enjoy the most beatiful sport called golf. Difference of this course from Gary Player course is situated inside resort area and as expected very well maintained & manicured.
