The course was in the best shape I've seen it in several years. True, they still have some patchy spots in the fairways, but they are definitely working out those little imperfections. Fairways, tee boxes, sand traps and greens were all very nice, with the greens running especially fast and true. The staff was great which included a marshall that was doing his job very well. (We got nicely pushed by him as soon as we got a hole behind. We had two consecutive holes where 2 of our players lost their ball in the brush, but we knew we had to catch up and we did.)
Best advise: have some more offers below $40, especially for seniors, (but not too low as to bring in riff-raff). I play in a group of 12 - 16 every Wednesday, and we always try and play area courses $40 and less to help accommodate all of our wallets. (I wish Oak Quarry would occasionally do the same.) More players would appreciate it.
All-in-all, thanks EG!

I must say, this place is definitely coming around. It's almost back to the early days when it first opened. The fairways, really nice. Filling in and lush, green and healthy. There are spots on some fairways that aren't cooperating, but you can tell the maintainance guys are trying really hard. The bunkers are coming around. EG is working on them and it's going to take awhile but it's still a work in progress. The ones they've already done are very nice. The greens are hard and fast, and they give you a great roll, but my issue with them is that they are almost all poa now, and the bent in them isn't very strong. I realize it's a hard thing to do to control the poa, and again the EG guys are trying hard but the greens will probably never be like they were when they first opened. However, that being said, to their credit, they are hard and fast, and being
above the hole will make for long day on the greens. Cart girl came around plenty of times and was very nice. About the only "problem" the course has is the coots on 18th fairway. Brutal on your shoes with all the poo but all in all, EG is really trying hard. And that can't be said for a ton of other courses right now.

Played Thurs morning March 4th. From the time I made the tee time to the drinks after, the experience was great. Staff was tremendous. Cashier friendly, starter came to the range to remind us we were in the hole, and excellent service from the restaurant staff. Course is being well maintained and maintenance was going on throughout the course. Bunkers are continuing to be repaired. Greens were fast and firm so stay below the hole. Never had a bad fairway lie but the cart path only holes showed signs of unsanded divots where golfers don't take sand bottles with them. Tee boxes were a little shaggy. Carts are clean and in good shape. Food was excellent. Try the warm chips.

Played Eagle Glen last Friday morning, seemed like when we were checking in the guy behind the desk was super confused. He not only couldn't figure out if we were on time or not, but he sold me a bucket of balls and when I went to hit them the starter was rushing me to the tee box. I had 20 min before my tee time but starter didn't care! Waste of 10 bucks. The course has been so nice for year but seems to really be slipping. Plus this isn't the first time I've had problems, the head pro is always running around and if you ask him a question he always seems to be too busy or annoyed. Its that his job to help customers? We do really like the course, the bar staff and cart girls are always great. Just wish they could figure out how to fix the shop. My best suggestion is to get rid of the head pro and start over with a customer based shop!!!

Starter and clubhouse staff was fantastic, clubhouse is beautiful. The GPS carts are awesome and ice buckets (filled with ice) are a nice touch!
Pace of play was 4.5 to 5 hours. Saw the beverage cart 3 times. Drinks were reasonably priced! Plenty of water stations. What a beautiful course. The greens were fast and firm running between a 10 to 11. Fairways and rough was in good shape considering the play and winter conditions. The sand traps were in good condition. This is a brutal course with the firm/fast greens. Had drinks and food in their beautiful bar. Loved the entire day.

we've played here a few times. the pace of play is usually slow....a 4.5 round here is really good. we played on super bowl sunday, thinking the course would be quite empty. we still had to wait on every shot, although much better than normal. the fairways were quite wet and muddy due to recent weather. they should have provided cleaning towels during these conditions. the sand traps were generally wet and hard, with some still filled with water.

i noticed that they've changed the course and slope ratings recently for the gold and harder tees. this is the only course i know that the ratings for men are actually lower than for women. it's ridiculous to think that at a course with all their elevation changes and ravines, they expect women to outplay the men. silly.

A few people (who shall remain nameless) at Eagle Glen GC thought that my last review was a little harsh. I still stand by what I said, as all of my reviews since joining GK have been "tough but fair". That review was a really long time ago, and I have kept by my word about not playing Eagle Glen ever again from that day forward. That is until last Saturday, 1/30/10. A friend of mine booked the time and I was really anxious to get out and hit 'em (I've been bus since before Christmas and had not held a club in over eight weeks...) - so - I agreed, grudgingly, to give it another try...

We arrived early for our 7:15 A.M. starting time and the pro-shop was not open yet. It opened shortly thereafter and the staff could not have been more pleasant to deal with. We each hit a small warm-up bucket and headed for the first tee. We tee'd off right on time. The first fairway was cart-path-only - as were several other holes - - but you can tell that they have done major maintenance and the course weathered the recent rains fairly well. I guess the most disappointing thing was the lack of consistency in the faitways...there were some pretty rough lies out there and some bare and wet patches. Hard-pan becomes "mud-pan" out there. Tee boxes...a little hammered....but - you could usually find a nice level area.

They've abviously been working on the sand in the bunkers, as it was the best I've ever seen at Eagle Glen. They seem to be draining better than in the old days.

The greens were magnificent. Truly. Fast as lightning downhill, and smooth. Not a lot of unrepaired ball-marks and real pleasure to putt on.

The course was as well-marshalled as I've ever seen. My biggest complaint before was "slow play" at Eagle Glen - - not a problem on Saturday. The marshall even had to warn OUR group to catch up...and he was right. The GPS said that we were 6-minutes behind and we got it to 6-minutes "ahead" within a few holes. Finished our round right at 11:45, exactly 4.5 hours.

An enjoyable day of golf. Eagle Glen may just have earned a place back in Cheeseburger's rotation.
