Played this course as the first time golfing since the new baby. It was a great day playing with my brother and a friend. We got out as a threesome on 1/3 at 8 10. The course was in good condition. The only problem I had with the course were the greens and the tee boxes. Had a lot of divots on the tee boxes(fill the divots people) and the greens were inconsistent. Some were real fast while the others rolled real slow. It may have been due to my lack of practice for the past 3 months, but it was great to finally get out there and play.

abysmally bad driving range conditions. On a good note, customer service is very good, though it would be nice to have gotten a golf cart that wasn't just hosed off and still wet. Snack bar shut down despite assurances from staff that it was open.

Played 11/26 w/ 12pm tee time. First off, the facility is nice, especially the practice putting/chipping greens. This place has a private country club feel to it. Starter, marshalls, staff all did their jobs checking up on people and keeping the pace. Course wise everything is in good shape from the tee box to the greens. The layout is nothing spectacular, but it's not boring either. I have been hesitant to give this course a try and I am glad I finally did. Hopefully I will get to try out the Riverside course soon. The ONE THING I do want to mention is the freeway noise. It didn't bother me all that much, but I can see how it could ruin someone's round if they don't like noise. So keep that in mind before you come play here.

This is a classic course that gets alot of play. The greens on the orange side are very nice right now. The staff has worked very hard to make this course better. I love playing there and for the money (about $40.00 during the week w/ cart, Less for seniors or LE) is a deal. They punched the greens yesterday and today so it should be back to playing shape in a couple of weeks.

Played 08/02.

I would stay away from this place for a while until they flatten out the greens. They are just awful right now and putting is unbelievably tough.

Played Sunday 6/8 around noon. Weather conditions were windy, but otherwise good.

The fairways here were in better shape than several others I've played in Southern California recently... didn't encounter any spots that were too hard. They've done a good job with watering and maintenance, so that was definitely a plus.

Only experienced one bunker (greenside), and it was nice and soft.

Greens were running pretty fast yesterday, and though several were rolling pretty true, some were a bit bumpy. You could generally tell which greens were the "problem" greens because you could see blotches of differently-colored grass, and I'm guessing that the different grasses were growing at different rates, which would certainly account for the bumpiness.

Although many of the greens were pretty straightforward -- some, actually, more straightforward than they appeared! -- there were a few challenging pin placements. The green at #11 was particularly diabolical, as the hole was placed very close to the base of the slope between two tiers!

There are places where the cart paths aren't paved, especially on the first few holes, and even some of the paved paths have some broken concrete, so be prepared for a bumpy ride!

Because of the winds, which I'm told are pretty much omnipresent, this course tends to favor low, penetrating shots kept below the treeline. If you're hitting short irons, you'd better take these winds into account, or you'll often find trouble.

Pace of play was good, with an asterisk: I was part of a twosome, and we soon found ourselves caught behind a pair of pretty slow foursomes. We skipped ahead a couple of holes, where it was wide open, then came back to the holes we'd missed and played in about 3-1/2 hours. Had we not leapfrogged the slow groups, though, it easily could have stretched to the 4-1/2 to 5-hour range.

played on sunday...it was super windy all day, even though the course had a lot of trees

anyways...everything was in pretty good shape...as good as you can expect for a course at this price....except for the greens...some of them were still slightly bumpy from the aeration last month...and they are slower and softer than the ones im used to playing on

but other than that, the course was in pretty good shape...lots of trees...i found myself punching out a lot when you miss the fairway

Course is in good condition. Fairways were excellent, rough was not difficult to hit out of and tee boxes were, for the most part, in good condition. Fairways are tight, so stay away if you're more likely to land in the middle of a neighboring fairway than your own. Fairways are lined with tall, low-branched trees. Overall fun course and worth the drive out there. I recommend getting an early tee time if you're coming from out west to avoid heavy 91 traffic in the afternoon.

Played saturday 2/23/08 at noon with passing shower at late afternoon.Played week ago at Riverside course with big good surprise decided to know how 's the Orange course.Compared result was very inferior than Riverside especially greens notes a lot.Way to Slow really needing to cut,mow or press whatever. No way to compare from years ago cause general conditions now is upgraded from 1 to 10 .Humorous starter, frequent pass of cart girl was good. This orange is located near freeway than riverside so more noisy & disorienting. Definetely reccomend Riverside at this moment.

Played Thursday 12/20/07 nice course. Didn't particulary care for the first 3 holes. They run along side the 91 freeway and it is really loud. Some of the tee boxes are unlevel, but the course is maintained. Not bad for the price.

First of the double header with bggpoppa.... First time playing Green River and it was okay. Got to get out before a tournament so we had no one infront and no one pressing us from behind for a while. First few holes were noisy due to the freeway, then the next couple of holes you got trains going by. Tee boxes were in okay condition some bare spots. Tight fairways required for accurate drives. Fairways were okay as well, some bare spots too. roughs were okay but the unraked leaves made it difficult to spot errant shots. Greens were in good condition. 2nd hole was punched bad but the rest were good. We caught the tourney in the back nine, which slowed us down, but not that bad. Overall, it was a good course to play, flat but tight. Would play Riverside before playing Orange again

The greens were the best I have ever seen at this course! Too bad the rest of the course was not as good. In all fairness, the course was in decent shape, but I thought the greens were outstanding. Not crazy about the changes they were firced tyo make, prefer the Riverside course now, but still not a bad track.

Course is in good shape, Greens are very slow, way to slow. Maintence still hasn't started cleaning up from the winds last week. Up to this time i thought they were getting this course back in to good shape. They have regressed. Give them a couple weeks to clean it up.

Played Sept. 20th. First time playing. $19 walking with Birdie Card discount. I gotta say, not a bad course. Sure, it's rough around the edges, but for the $, no complaints. Conditions were average. Some greens were great; others full of craters and bumpy. But, the good greens were more numerous than the bad. Some interesting holes. #8 is a tough par four with water on both sides of the fairway and a big tree blocking front right of the green. Some tough par 3's too. Great pace of play. We walked it in a little less than four hours and the place was packed. Lots of maintanence going on, but didn't intrude on our play. WARNING: THE SCORE CARDS ON THIS WEBSITE ARE SWITCHED. They've got the Riverside Course info on the Orange Course page and vice versa. The Riverside course is the longer, tougher rated course, not the Orange. But, Orange was still tough. You gotta keep it in the fairways, duh!

Played Sunday, September 9. Fairways have dry payches but tee boxes and greens are good. Greens held well hit shots. Got around as a threesome in about 4 1/2 hours. Had a slow group jump in front of us after 14 holes or would have been quicker. Did not see a marshall.

The Orange course is in good shape. Played late in the day so the pace was pretty good. Not sure about holes 2 & 3. I know they didn't have much to work with after the flood, but I think they need change up the configuration. Still, I enjoyed the course.

Plain and simple, this course is terrible. Tee boxes are in aweful shape. Fairways are hardpan. Some greens were half dead. Sand was more like rock and very inconsistent. Layout is short and strange. Played here on a discounted tee time, and felt gipped. Would not recommend to anyone. For the same price or less, head to Costa Mesa, Anaheim Hills or Meadowlark.

**Pooor conditions** Played saturday at noon 1/27/07
Overall conditions really lamentable especially most tee boxes beated up even you can feel with your sole of feet & all fairways yellow/brown winter conditions very thin & hard & #2's green was disaster covered with barespot + mud.
Particularly I desired to play at riverside course cause at orange I played several times but no chance.
At 1st tee box we encoutered 3 more groups to tee off expecting long day doubting if we could finish the round but surprisingly we did in 5 hours being 5 some.
Always noisy freeway & cargo train.

My 4-some got out right on time at around 11:15am on the Orange course and we got through the round in just over 5 hours. The course is in winter conditions with the fairway grass yellowing. The greens are in great shape. Just a couple of bare spots. The course seems to be recovering slowly from all the flood damage a couple of winters ago.

First time here in about 10 years and it is sad how a nice course has deteriorated. Tee boxes are very, very hard with little grass - couldn't use plastice tees without bending them. Fairways had many bare spots and there was no such thing as rough. Greens has many 'splotches'. And this was the good news.

Showed up for an 11:00 tee time on the Riverside course booked through click4teetimes.com and was told that there was a tournament there and would have to play the Orange. Having read the reviews I didn't want to play there and asked for a refund which was denied. My worst fears about the Orange course were justified. Wonder if the Riverside course is much better.

Oh, by the way did I mention that the round took 6:15. I guess lousy courses attrack lousy golfers.

Played sunday 10/8/06 midday.Pretty loose not crowded. At 1st tee we encountered just front of us group of 3 men & 1 kid(10-12years?)expecting long day of play but after 3 holes pace of play was normal good.Always this course remind me fairway under water when rains come strong but right now general conditions are very good.As diamond bar golf course the location near freeway makes very noisy passing cars plus particularly container trains add more noise this course.Dealing with winds you can get good scores here.

I called the night before to confirm that if I came out first thing in the morning, there would not be a problem getting out alone. When I checked in at the desk and paid my fees, I asked again if there were any shotguns going on, and was told no! While waiting on the first tee on the Riverside course for it to be light enough to hit, the starter advised me that seniors start on the back nine at 7:30 (shotgun) and generally fill the entire back side. He apologized for the pro shop not telling me, but at least I found out before it was too late, so went and played Orange. (Which is not in that great of condition) It wouldn't not have been a problem, just wish the left hand know what the right hand was doing!

First time I've played here since they changed the course! I think they did a great job! Holes # 16 & 17 are very nice and #11, which used to be a simple hole, is now a strong hole. The greens were very nice, as were the fairways, but the tees were horrible! The best part was not having to play #18 as that par 3 - never liked that hole! Sure hope the new owners don't tear down these two courses, they're "throw-back" to the fifties is a nice change from the "new style", big buck courses being built now.

what happenend to this course. first three holes are a joke. after that its not to bad but not what it used to be. some bunkers are hard some soft. what is still the same is that all the leaves on the ground make it impossible to find your ball. lost one ball in middle of fairway.course needs lots of work.

Definately one with nature - mosquitoes will eat you alive. VERY narrow fairways. If you get into the rough, be sure you can play "Marco / Polo" with it, cause it can burry itself very deep into the tall, lush grass and you will not likely find it.

Not quite worth the fees, I think I enjoyed other nearby courses more favorably (i.e. Anaheim Hills)

Played this course 11/13/05. Greens were for the most part terrible for this time of year, very bumpy, rough, inconsistent. Worst part of playing this course late in the season, is the leaves. Actually need to carry a leaf blower in your bag! Tee boxes just set up anywhere. Terrible! Fairways pretty good (aside from leaves), and luckily hit all fairways but one on this round. Can't complain about cost, cuz purchased tee time at discount rate of $25, but good thing, not worth much more than that!!

Played the Orange-Riverside combo. Almost impossible to find the first hole. No sense of direction from the starters. Too bad the course was severely damaged from the storms, but no effort to accomodate their guests for the problems. I had a tee time but they wouldn't let my group out because of some scheduling conflict! What the hell!!! Never going back to this course again!

The good news is that the water is gone. The bad news is that part of the fairway next to the Santa Ana River has washed away. I saw the ground crew working on it today. It looks like the fairway was split down the center and the left side removed.

FYI - Holes next to Santa Ana river are under water. I drive by on my way to and from work each day. The course was doing ok even with the rain, but I guess it couldn't take any more. The fairways are under about 1 to 2 feet of water.

Played 1/5/05, right after days of continuous rain, and the course was in remarkable condition, all things considered. Particularly the greens. This is first time I've played since they reconfigured the course, and I don't think the changes are for the better. The idea was good, just not well executed. They need to redo the greens on #15 and $16, as they do not offer much of a visual target. The change to #11 made a birdie hole into a rather testy hole

Everything was beautiful, except the course. Great location, to bad there's no winter maintenance done. Fairways were so bumpy you could split the middle, and hit a big knob, and end up in the trees. Good thing it's a cheap green fee!

And I thought Rec Park was bad in a review of that course I did a couple of weeks ago. But this course was worse.

Nothing about this course was good, except for the greens, which were half way decent. The constant noise of the freeway and the occasional train were extremely annoying.

6 par 5's, 6 par 4's and 6 par 3's made play excruciatingly long. While we managed to finish the round in just over 5 hours, it seemed a lot longer, having to wait on every tee (no exaggeration)

If you live in the area, it might be worth the green fee, but I wouldn't drive 40 miles to play there again, unless someone can convince me it has greatly improved

Worth the green fee only because the twilight rate was $16. Apparently, twilight rate brings out the yahoos and sends the marshalls for cover, because most people on the course displayed little knowledge of golf and how to play it, while marshalls were nowhere to be found "marshalling", if that means moving play along. GR has maximized revenues by shrinking their greens down to almost nothing, packing groups out as fast as possible, and minimially maintaining the grounds. OK as a warmup or an afternoon stroll (or wait), but nothing to stir the blood.

Havn't been here for many years (injury) and just started playing again. Still as pretty and nice to play as ever.
At this time of year there are a lot of cottonwood blooms in the air and the ground is getting it's leaf cover. Easy to loose a ball in or near the tree lines. New clubhouse, (since I was there) great food and drink after golf, and an overall pleasant experience.

played 4-17-03 3:15 only 17dollars, well worth it It is unique to play a course that has 6 par 3's, 6 par 4's, and 6 par5's. They lengthened some holes to now make it a 6,533 yard course. The first time I played here was in 1990. This course last week was in the best condition I have ever seen! Small greens and lots of trees on both sides of the fairway make this course a fun challenge.
