Played Fri March 12th at 8 am. Check in quick. No restaurant, putting green open. 2 rider carts. Haven't played here since September and I was very pleasantly surprised at the conditions, it was hot in September and things were dried out, maybe the rain the last few days really helped but the course was very green, greens were receptive and rolled nice , fairways mostly greens except on the edges, tee boxes ok, was in 1 trap and it was not good. This is just a play golf course but for $40 riding I was pleased. This is not a walking course as the last review stated so think about that when booking. I woukd come back next week if our group scheduled it.

Once again bitten by the dearth of available tee times in LA County, ended up playing a new course out in Riverside this weekend by hitting up Indian Hills for the first time ever. First disappointment off the bat is that there's no driving range here, or at least not one that's easily accessible. I think it's down the road but a separate facility altogether.

Price was very reasonable here riding the blue tees with a cart for around $48. And don't let the length of this track fool you (6000 yards from the blues) - it's quite difficult and very hilly and narrow on practically every hole. The par 3s can be quite insane and some of the elevations are just daunting and difficult. It's two out-and-back nines that wind through a residential area with some of the homes right on top of the tee boxes or near the tight fairways. Accuracy is at a massive premium here.

In terms of conditions, the course is a little rough around the edges but plays pretty well still. The fairways aren't necessarily lush, but you'll find pretty good lies in the middle, with a lot of the coverage thinning out around the greens. There are some construction areas as well to make things more difficult. The rough was varied throughout the course and the bunkers were playable - not great, but not terrible. Tee boxes were pretty poor with lots of dirt areas or thick grass that should be mowed down.

Greens were a mixed bag, with some being quite nice and rolling true, mostly at medium-fast speeds, but others had some damaged areas requiring replacement of the ball and were quite bumpy in places depending on the roll area. But overall they were definitely not the worst part of the course. If anything, probably the best but your baseline isn't super high to begin with here.

The cart service came around numerous times so that was nice on what turned out to be a gorgeous IE Saturday. And there's also a small snack shop right near the starter's office which is nice and convenient, both before the round and at the turn. Nice thing is that the putting green is open for practice pre-round right there as well.

And if you're walking this course, be prepared for a pretty strenuous effort. Besides the aforementioned hills that are part of just about every hole on this course, the walk between holes 8 and 9 is very long, as is the transition uphill from the 9th green to the 10th tee box ... I would not want to walk this monster.

Would I play here again? Absolutely. While there were a lot of negatives I pointed out, they're not impossible fixes and could show up on a different day and find the course in great shape. But for the price, it's still a very good deal and the tee shot view on the 16th hole is worth it alone.

Played on 10/20 and course is in the worst shape I have ever seen it. More dirt than grass and standing water. Hard pan bunkers, and on top of it all they were sanding some of the greens. $40 for a course in this shape? If this is a trend due to supply and demand, I will stop playing this game.

The fairways were barely green, in places, traps just dirt. It seems like alot of courses are really doing a good job on the greens and some of them are letting the rest of the course go. I think they think if a golfer is happy with the greens it out ways the condition of the rest of the course. It was definitely not good condition, but it was a round of golf. I did not come here expecting country club conditions. POP was 3.52

Played on Tuesday 5/5. I have played here many times as it is near my son-in-law and I don't mind the drive. Last year I vowed to never play here again and the conditions seemed like nobody cared, but after seeing the lase review I thought I would give it a try and to my surprise this is by far the best condition I have ever seen this course. Check in was easy and COV19 precautions are in place in the clubhouse and on the course. They are still serving some food at the turn which was nice. Tee boxes - a little chewed up ,but playable. A few are not level. Fairways - Thick and lush, I have never seen them this green. #9 fairway is thin as they have always had problems getting grass to grow Last time I played here it was difficult to find good grass. Rough - recently mowed and nice, some hard pan areas, but not as many as there used to be. Greens - Nice with medium speed. A few bumps here and there, but nice to putt on. No damaged areas. Bunkers - HORRIBLE, not a grain of sand to be found. Some with weeds and all are hardpan. There is a note on the carts thas bunkers should be played as non-hazards. I had a few balls actually take a big bounce out after hitting into the bunker on the fly and a few just roll out. The course was busy but not overly crowded, but our POP was 5:45 and that was because of the pot smoking, beer drinking, lets all go to his ball and watch him hit Bros in front of us. We caught them on Hole 5 and then crawled the rest of the round. They would ony hit their tee shots when they saw us coming up. They must have been friends of somebody on the course as they stood on the 10th tee box BSing until they saw us come out of the snack area with our hot dogs. This is the my only big complaint. I plan on going back next week as it was only $30 for a 12:45 tee time.

First time out in 5 weeks. Perfect day. Course was in great shape since it had been closed for the Stay-at-Home Corovid-19 order. Ten minute tee time spacing worked well as long as all groups had 4 people. There were a few twosomes out, but that's just the way it is . It's still all an experiment in course operation by the course management team - and they're doing a good job! Course plays fair if you keep it in the fairway. Lots of elevation changes make you think about club selection. Greens were surprisingly slow, but sped up as the day went on. No rakes in the bunkers which were thin but playable. No rakes due to social distancing. Also, no ball washers, no trash cans, no benches, etc. The snack bar was open and there was a cart girl. The practice green was open but limited to 6 people at a time. Check in is strict. You only check in 10 minutes prior to pay, and then off you go. Social distancing is the name of the game these days for now. All-in-all a good day. Kudos to Scott in the clubhouse for running the course under these circumstances. The State has imposed a lot of rules which may be a little over-reactive, but everybody seemed to do their part on following them (with a little flexibility and common sense).

11/5 using a raffle prize for a 2some on a nice SC fall morning POP right a 4 hours with a no waiting front and then hit the wall star ing on 10--always feels really slow when the starting pace is unfettered. Fairways had good coverage over about 75% of the area with the best being located down the center 30 yards. There were some thin and bare areas scattered about but with few exceptions I had good fairway lies. Rough was sparse with a few thicker patches around the greens. Dirt was featured past the rough. Tees are very thin with the par 3s being chewed up. Bunkers looked to have been groomed but were quite firm. Bunkers can often come into play especially when trying to get close to a front pin from not the best angle. Greens were the best part with many in excellent condition. They have just started punching with a plan to do 3 each week--so 2 were kinda ok and 1 was so so. The greens vary in size with most of the par 3s being smaller(15 excepted) and some presenting a 2 club variation front to back and taking into account that some are multi level and all have slope often influenced by topography . Friendly staff. No driving range and basic carts w/o GPS.

First out in the dark at 6:08am, on what appeared to be a busy Monday Morning. Using a Golf Moose voucher, price was right. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I enjoy playing this course because I like the back nine. Not too crazy about the front however.

Conditions: The greens were smooth, held shots very well, and were a little on the slow side. Fairways were decent for the most part, but lots of thin areas. Rough was thin, patchy, and simply not good. Bunkers were all hard pan with little sand. Some tee boxes were OK, many were unlevel, and beat up.

Overall the condition of the course has deteriorated quite a bit over the past year. Too bad because it could be a fun course to play. While I don't expect "country club" conditions, I must admit I was very disappointed with the overall conditions.
