Played here today, 8-31, for the first time. Bought a yardage book based on prior reviews. Played with fellow GKer SPAUL100. Course in great shape-- a couple of dead spots here and there, but overall, very nice. Greens are pristine and just the right speed. A pleasure to walk, as well. On a side note, Spaul100 was absolutely CRUSHING his new Ping G10 driver! Holy crap! The ball seemed to explode off the face. I have never played with him before but he absolutely bombed that driver. That is the first time since my tour days that I have seen a guy CARRY the ball 290-300 yards. It was a different course for him but I know he enjoyed it as well.

Weather was perfect and we saw the cart girl 4 times. Highly recommend making the trip to Summerly!

Friday 8-22-08:7am: Walked the course as a single this morning. About 75 degrees at the start. 85 when I finished 3 hours later. I love this layout. Couple of dead spots in the fairways and the greens on the front nine showed some wear. Nothing that affected play though. Lots of maintenance folks out hand watering trying to reverese the heat damage. Service is good. Help loading bags and they will usually be there to clean your clubs afterwards. But since I walked I took care of it myself. Saw the beverage girl twice. Snack shop at the turn not open still during the week. Carts have coolers with ice. Bring a couple of your own. Overall a great day and I will be back.

Play can slow down later in the day especially when the wind comes up. #9 tough par 3. 225 yards with water on the right and OB on the left. Snack bar on the first tee not open during the week. Tough to get food at the turn. Cart girls were around quite abit though and brought out sandwiches for us.

Took a drive to see how this links course would be. I enjoyed most of the round except for the greens. Some of the greens were good, but many had severe damage on them. I don't know if they are being damaged by golfers or if they are infected, but some of the greens were brown. Overall enjoyed the first time out. i just wish people would join together, played behind two sets of twosomes who were slow. They could have played as a foursome since they were playing from the same tees. Oh well, i probably will play again if they have another special on golfnow.com.

For the course that opens for just 3 months, the greens'conditions are horrible!! They were very bumpy. Some area of the greens are starting to burn out, at this rate, they will loose most of the greens by the end of the summer.

Conditions around the greens are also marginal. Many apron area were already damaged and being replaced by sod from other area.

The pace of play is 5 1/2 hours or more.

$35 senior rate on Thursday is not too bad.

It's very hot when we played, 7/3/08, they don't have enough drinking water on the course but the cart girls came by every 30 minutes or so.

Played here for the first time on Tues 7/8, went out at 7:30 AM. Not too many people out. We caught up with the 4some in front of us around the 4th hole and it went slow from then on, although we finished in 4.5 hrs should have been 4 hrs. That aside, the course was in good playing conditions but not aesthetically at it's best. Some of the fairways had brown areas, or standing water, but played OK. The greens showed heat damage , and or fungus in some areas so depending on where the ball landed, it either hit and rolled or held the shots.

Talked to a groundskeeper, they were redoing the watering system to bring in cleaner water for the greens. Seems the water quality they have been using was not friendly to the greens.

Not knowing the layout made it more difficult to play, now that we know will come back although it's 110 mile roundtrip, at $40 it was worth the trip.

First time to play there so I bought the yardage book. From the tees, the par 4's and 5's have no framing to the fairways so you really need to focus. The greens showed heat damage in some areas so depending on where the ball landed, it either launched forward or stuck. The traps were OK and the greenies were fine, thanks to C4TT discount. Also, for a Sunday 10:00AM tee time, the course was relatively empty and when we finished at 2:30PM, only about 15 cars in the parking lot. Now that I know the course, I would definitely play again.

Played on 7/4 and regret everyone second of it.

WARNING: there are no trees to provide shade. You will be miserable if you do not bring at LEAST 5 drinks. At least the course provides free ice. ... Continue »

Played on 7/4 and regret everyone second of it.

WARNING: there are no trees to provide shade. You will be miserable if you do not bring at LEAST 5 drinks. At least the course provides free ice.

The course is pretty simple and some holes run along with eachother. The GPS on the carts do not provide enough info for you to understand this course. You need to have local knowledge to shoot low on your first try here.

It tooks us over 6 hours to finish and had about 2 groups at every hole waiting to tee off. Again, there is no shade so be prepared for a long hot day.

I will not return to this course again unless they start to charge under 30 dollars which will never happen.
