The Balboa 9 hole course offers an executive length with challenges.
The greens are excellent. It makes a great outing for golf in the afternoon. Reservations are not needed. It is a favorite for many in San Diego.

I believe it to be the best nine hole executive golf course in San Diego. It has plenty of long par 3 holes plus 5 par 4 holes. It is a great place to learn and practice and it is cheap only $10 with a resident card.
