Course is under maintenance, cart paths only. The tees and greens are fine, but the fairways are being worked on and the rough has many bare spots. Also, the bunkers are inconsistent with deep, heavy sand.

Played 11-21-11 with my two roommates and some guy named Rory on Friars/Presido ($22 Hot-Deal on GolfNow). Following three consecutive weekends of heavy rain, much of the course was absolutely soaked thanks to the SD river's annual floodings (closing the Missions course), however, casual water rules were in effect so the water was not much of an issue. All the rain led to Cart Path Only, as one would expect. Now to my review:

Experience:
- Round played in 3:36
- Shot an 81 (37/44)
- No cart lady :(
- Good times; Great friends

Greens:
- Soft due to rains
- Rolled about a 10.5-11; fastest I've ever seen at Riverwalk, especially after rain.
- Smooth, but footprints/ballmarks were occasionally issue but no one had played in 2 days b/c of the rain

Fairways:
- Looked fresh from the tee and played the same (except the occasional temporary rain lakes, haha)
- Well defined fairway/rough edge at almost all times

Tees:
- Clean cut with minimal divot damage
- No serious bumps/uneven terrain

Rough:
- Lush, but never too thick that your ball was buried, or thin/bare that you could've just played the fairway. (3-5 inches)

I play riverwalk every Saturday. Here is the skinny... Course is always very well maintained. Greens are always taken care of and roll true, rough is always lush though not overly punishing, sand plays heavy in bunkers but is clean of pebbles, fairways are always nice. Its a fun track to play although not overly difficult. IMO the only downside can be pace of play. This course is booked all the time and if you want to tee off at prime time, your round can take 5 hours. Other than that... Its a great track to play.

Played here for $50 and played the Mission/Friars rotation. The conditions on Mission are much better than Friars. Greens were kinda slow and extremely soft. You know they are soft when you ball is half way buried in the divot it leaves. Tee boxes were bad, pretty chewed up if you ask me. Very uneven tee boxes and even the Mission first hole had a temporary tee box arcoss the SD River. The sand wasn't very good either. It was extremely hard in the 2 bunkers I was in. Fairways were ok and the rough wasn't penalizing. Played in about 4 hours 15 minutes so it was a decent pace for a weekday afternoon. The workers were friendly and we saw the cart girl a few times. I will probably wait and come back when I see a better review.

Play here on 8/10 for the first time and really enjoyed the course. Played from the middle T's which was the right length (6000+ yds) for a Sr golfer. Greens were firm and had lots of contour, quite challenging. Local knowledge is very helpful as there are many ponds. Good job by the marshal keep the 5 some moving that was two groups ahead of us. Definitely will come back again!

Well, the course itself is in good condition and everything is fine. It was worth the 30 bucks to play except for one thing. Only problem I had was of the pace of play. I teed off at about 3:05 in a foursome, playing Mission/Presidio. It took us 4 and a half hours to play the first 14 holes, with one of the golfers in our group even stopping halfway. At one point, all play and groups on the course was halted because they had to bring in a helicopter to participate in a raffle on the 9th hole of Mission. That added a whole more 20 minutes. I finally gave up and stopped after my tee shot on 14 because the group in front of us was stuck on the green dumbfounded about the helicopter while my foursome is scattered across the fairway waiting to hit our second shots. The least the club could of done is get somebody out there to keep the pace of play going. But I don't want to bag on the course as they've been able to keep it in decent shape. I'll be back if they can keep the flow of things stay smooth.

Played Mission / Presidio on 10/15 and 10/17. The course is in very good shape. One of the few courses in SD county that punched their greens early. So go now as most other courses are still punching their greens. I'm not a huge fan of the layout at Riverwalk, but I still enjoy it. Presidio in my favorite 9 holes. Mission has a couple of shorter par 4s with a quirky layout (holes 2 and 3). The location of the course often lends itself to being a Mecca for tourists and beginning golfers, so pace of play is often an issue here. I played on a Friday afternoon as a 3some and we finished in la little ess than 4 hours. I also played early (6:30 am) Sunday as a 3some and we finished in less than 3 hours.

Course is in great shape. Such a fun course to play. And if you get a deal on Golf now it is way worth it. Love playing here.

Played on Monday 8/2. Was the first tee time out and played by myself with a cart. So I could really move. Finished in under 3 hours.

Course was in good shape. Every aspect. The only thing that was a bummer is I had to play around the staff that was changing the tee box locations and pin placements. Greens, fairways, and tee boxes all in great shape.

I played Mission and Presidio. Was my first time playing the presidio nine. It is my least favorite of the 3 nines. Just a weird set up. Feel like it is the last nine that they care about. Still in great shape, but just not as fun as the other two sides.
