Played Moorpark yesterday with JohnnyGK. This was my first time at Moorpark and after reading many of the previous reviews, I was not disappointed. First thing I would say is, this is a MUST play for everyone, regardless of skill level. Five sets of tees and a combo set combining blue/white. So there is an acceptable choice for everyone. We played the Canyon Crest and Ridgeline 9's and I look forward to going back and playing the Creekside 9. The minute you drive into the parking lot, you become aware that this is going to be a great day of golf. Great staff at all levels; grass practice area; chipping area and a great putting green. What set this day of golf apart for me, was the layout of the course. Each hole takes on its own unique character and provides anticipation going to the next hole. You have to play this course to appreciate it. No amount of description by any of us GK'ers can truly provide enough adjectives to really describe the course to others. As you know many courses are going through aeration and maintenance presently. So is/has Moorpark. But you really have to look to see the work and when you do, you will also truly appreciate what a course can do to mask the obvious and make it appear that it did not exist. This was the first course I have seen that has gone to these lengths for their customers and I for one greatly appreciated that service. If you love golf and all of us on this site do, then by all means find a way to play Moorpark CC and find out for yourself what this truly great golf course has to offer in the way of golfing enjoyment. I also encourage you to go to the Moorpark website and view each hole and its description to further excite your future tee time.
