"Played 5/21. Course was in great condition. Tight layout. Target golf. You have to carry shots to landing areas. Transition or "waste areas" are between landing areas. ( These transition areas look like giant bunkers with a few plants. They are not hazards. You can ground your club & pick up loose impediments.) Fairways were only 22-25 yards wide on some holes. Rough was cut short which gave you a good lie, but it won't stop anything hit low and hard. Beyond the rough is desert. There are some open places to find your ball, but if it's not sitting where you can easily see it, then it's lost. They don't have GPS but the course was well marked. The greens were large and undulated. You need to hit your shots on the right "level" where the pin is. If you don't it's a difficult 2 putt. They had the greens running slow because of the wind conditions. There were plenty of well placed bunkers on the course. You pay the price if you are in any. They are deep with soft sand.
The service was excellent. I want to give credit to the course for being smart about making it a enjoyable golf experience. We had a severely windy day. (25-40 mph) The course knew this and took it into consideration by eliminating the gold tees for the day. They also had maintenance workers hand watering the greens throughout the day to keep them from drying out. This made the course still playable in under 5 Hours even though it still kicked our butts."
