Played in our GK Plays over the Veteran's Holiday. Good times.

Driving up to the course you see slips of green against the desert landscape and it's breathtaking. Course is GREEN and lush. They say this is perhaps their best over-seed and you can tell.

For me the tee boxes all level and lush. Fairways lush. Rough is thick and penalizing AND Lush. Greens were a little inconsistent but lush, rolled true. It was hit and miss when you tried to go for the greens and because it was my first time playing here it was very difficult to figure out if you should be aggressive or not. Overall though the course is in fine shape. I mean you get what you pay for and this course delivers in customer service AND some wonderful playing conditions. It didn't hurt that the weather cooperated as well.

Bottom-line this course was a treat to play and I look forward to finding my way back here again. Course offers some real challenges, some great views and some great golf in my humble opinion. This course is definitely on my hit parade return list when I return to Las Vegas.

I played TPC Las Vegas on Thursday the 21st of July. We were following a junior golf tournament so the going was painfully slow on the front nine. (Those juniors need some coaching on ready golf.) But they finished at the turn and it was wide open on the back nine.

The temp was at 109 degrees and we were feeling the burn. But the course had adequate water and ice available. It was refreshing. There was no beverage cart though. I'm sure that was because of the junior tournament that took the whole morning.

The staff was very friendly and genuinely seemed pleased that we had joined them. I was impressed. This course has a tremendous practice facility. If you have time show up early and take advantage of this feature.

Course condition:
The tee boxes were all level and well maintained. They were plush and full and there were many options for a variety of levels of golfers.

The fairways were in fantastic shape and there were some brown spots but they were not thin and did not affect the shot. The fairways were mostly level as well. If you hit the fairway from off the tee you were rewarded. The rough was short and was not a penalty if you found it. Probably a half to one inch.

The greens were in great shape and were fast. They rolled true but it was difficult to get a shot to hold on the green. Most approaches had to be well short of the pin or risk rolling off. Very minimal pitch mark damage.

The bunkers were well kept and had plenty of sand. If you happened to find the sand you could expect a fluffy lie or in worst case a fried egg. But hey it is a hazard!

I liked the whole look of this traditional desert golf course. There were canyons running throughout the course and a desert boundary on most holes. It was gorgeous.

Another great day on a Vegas golf course. I would highly recommend this course.

I played here a few years ago and remember having a tough time with the course. Since I have improved, I wanted to give this course another try. The customer service in the pro shop and the starter were both really nice and helpful. The starter told me I could either go out by myself early or wait and get paired up with someone.

The practice range is one of the better ranges in Las Vegas. I once came here to practice only and bags of balls are $25 for approx. 40-50 balls each. I thought they were kidding but they weren't. However, practice balls are included in your round and there wasn't any problem with taking two bags.

The pace of play for the first several holes was amazing. I didn't think many people would be out in the afternoon on a holiday but I was wrong and ended up waiting on every shot from the 7th hole on. There wasn't anywhere to go as I could see groups ahead and playing through would only mean waiting again. I never once saw a marshal. Even with waiting, I was able to finish in less than four hours.

Tee to green this course was in really great shape. The in cart GPS was within a yard or two of my sky caddie. There weren't many divots on the fairways and the tee boxes were for the most part well kept. The greens had several brown ball marks but the greens rolled a lot better than they looked. They were deceptively fast when chipping. The few greens I did hit in regulation held pretty well. On many of the greens, there are false fronts and would result in the ball spinning back off the green.

This is the only TPC course I have ever played and although it's a really nice course in a great part of town, it's not one of my must play courses in Vegas. I just doesn't seem to fit my eye all that well even though I played decently well. I would play it again but only after exhausting a few other options in town.

The one tip I was given is on hole 14, aim at the church steeple and hit a long iron or 3 wood as the canyon that runs along the right side of the hole winds through the fairway in front of the green.

Good course. Played on 6/16. Very few players out after 10:00 a.m . but it was hot.

Greens were super fast, with fluffy sand bunkers guarding the greens. Fairway was a mix of green and brown grass due to the season. Lots of bird droppings on the 18th hole.

GolfNow deal as a single for $125 this morning. 7am tee time that actually became 7:40 with a frost delay. POP approx 3:20 playing with three other vacationers.

Tough to give the greatest review because of the frost making the first 6-7 greens hard as rocks and the whole course playing super hard and fast. Start to finish here goes. Staff was cool; directed you the right way etc. Practice area was very good with perfect grass range that was very much in line with fairway conditions at the course. Same goes for the practice green. The course itself was in about 8/10 shape for the time of year. No major tee damage and very little ground under repair. I was a little stunned at the amount of bad ballpark repair, not unrepaired , improperly repaired. It's clear the green staff comes out every morning and cleans up people's messes. Doesn't impact putts more than mentally.

Only solid issue I had with the place was the inconsistency in the amount of sand in the traps. None were bare but some had super fluffy sand and some were really hard packed. I was in 5 of them and never knew what I was getting. We're all spoiled though. The Scots would tell you don't hit it in the traps to begin with because you never know what you're getting. Anyway, I'll probably hit this track again in a warmer month. 40 degrees all day w/ a 15-20MPH wind was brisk.

Finished by Vegas trip with a round at TPC on Friday, 11/13. Facilities at the course were top notch. They definitely treat you like a "member for the day" with access to a great locker room, and generally excellent customer service. The driving range is very nice with adequate room, a practice bunker and a separate chipping area. Carts do have GPS available and I found it to be very helpful throughout the round.

The starter tried to talk us out of playing the blue tees (6800, 71.0/128) saying we could only play the blues if we can carry the ball 270. Kinda found that ridiculous that a course that's 6800 requires you carry it 270, so we ignored him. He wasn't happy, but we're all single digit handicappers and we weren't going to play from 6100. Throughout the course we never had to carry the ball 270, so I'm not sure what he was talking about. You COULD take a line that required a 270 carry, but as long as you can carry it 220, you're fine.

The conditions on the course were nearly perfect. Greens were really quick, very smooth, and had hardly any imperfections. Fairways were tight and clean, never had a bad lie throughout the day (other than the desert) and was very impressed with the play of the course.

Unfortunately, the layout and actual course routing is a little "blah." There are no real memorable holes, and rarely did the course make you think. Basically every hole was hit driver as far & straight as you can and keep the ball below the hole. There were a few holes where you had to choose the correct line to cross a canyon and the par 3's were a good collection, but given the amount of awesome holes in Vegas, and the $225 price tag, I expected a bit more.

Being on my "Vegas Bucket List" I came away a little disappointed, but the conditions saved the day. I've played on only a few courses that were in overall better condition than TPC and the customer service was generally, very, very good. If you can find a round out here for under $200, I think it's worth it to play at least once.

I played TPC Las Vegas Tuesday, August 26 at 7:40 am. Got a nice rate of $50 on GolfNow, which at the time I booked it, was compared to most of the surrounding times being $130, so that was a great deal. I had called the course a couple times to gauge late summer conditions, and they were very straightforward with me and explained their plans in preparation for their impending closure for overseeding.

It turned out there was absolutely nothing to worry about, conditions-wise. The tee boxes, greens, roughs and fairways were all in very good condition. The only complaint I really have about the conditions is one bunker I ended up in was like hardpan around the edges, and I found myself with a downhill lie right on the hardpan.

Layout-wise, this is a decent course but not really all that memorable, especially for a "Tour caliber" layout stamped with the TPC label. The only interesting feature of the course are the small canyons that come into play on a good number of holes. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't played the men's combo tees, because I feel like they neutered the layout quite a bit. Most of the more interesting/challenging tee shots were on the blue tees, but the combo tees have you play from the whites on most of those holes.

In summary, this is a fine course in great shape (especially for late summer and pre-overseeding), but layout wise it would be seriously underwhelming had I paid the full $130 rate. At $50, it was a good experience.

This was the first time I had played a TPC course. Had heard very good things, and wanted to see what the hype was all about. We played on Friday August 1, 2014. Had a early tee time, and the course was not to crowded at all. We let a twosome play through our four on about the 10th hole, but did not see many other groups. Pace was 4.5, but that was due to our play and not waiting on anyone.

Tee boxes were in excellent shape. Only the par 3s showed some damage. They have several different tee boxes on each hole, and you can tell they are rotated frequently. No crowning issues, and always a nice place to put a peg in the ground.

The fairways were for the most part in really nice shape. Only a couple rare spots were the grass was getting thin, and generally in high traffic areas. None of these spots were ever in play, so I cannot complain. The rough was quite thin, not surprising during the summer as it takes a lot of water to keep it up. Also I bet they keep it down to keep the pace of play low. Which is always a good thing in my opinion, as I am known to have a few stray tee shots.

The green complexes in general were excellent. The rough, shaved collars, and chipping areas near the greens were very clean and a great challenge. Several times I putted from off the green they were in such great shape. The greens were running very quick, and in general were in excellent shape with only a few rare un-repaired marks. The greens dried out as the day went, and often an approach shot would roll right on through. Greenside bunkers were in excellent shape, and had plenty of sand to execute a tough shot up to the green.

Overall our foursome had an excellent experience here at TPC. This course is very challenging, and some local knowledge is a must. I enjoyed the layout, and the variation in hole styles. As noted in prior reviews there are LOTS of forced carries on this course, some are green side, and others are off the tee. The customer service was excellent all around, saw the beverage cart several times, and the snack shop between the 9s was also open. This may become one of my favorite Vegas courses, and I will definitely be returning on my next visit.
