Played 2 great days of golf here in August. Very hot weather this time of year. Course was showing the signs of the heat but is still very playable and a great value this time of year. Greens were good and layout is spectacular. Great views of the river valley. The customer service at this course is excellent and they treat you great with great specials in their fabulous clubhouse. A great place to hold an event that is for sure. I will be back!!

Played 8/17 and in the GK Casual outing on 8/18. The bermuda greens are firm and in good to excellent shape overall. Medium fast. Many greens have places for severe pins on this course, with slopes that could result in putts off the green if you aren't careful. The fairways and rough are excellent, especially considering it's 110+ every day. There were a few tees boxes closed for reseeding, but the ones open were well maintained. The rough is thicker and the ball will settle down where a lost ball in 2 1/2 inch rough is a possibility unless you almost step on it.

The frequent strong winds and the desert floor give this course it's main defense. Stray off the fairway and you are in "Rock City", and I don't mean Detroit. Obviously avoid the catcus, tumbleweed and rattlesnakes, but it's the boulders, stones, lava rock and sand surrounding the course which will tear up your clubs if you choose to play out of there.

The clubhouse & dining facilities were both nice, staffed with friendly, customer service oriented people. Challenging course, up/down hills, I'd rate it a must play if in the Bullhead area.

Played on Friday, Sept. 28, 2007. The course had just re-opened from their overseeding program 5 days prior on Sept. 23. Unfortunately, you couldn't tell. It was cart path only for no apparent reason. The fairways and rough were firm and surface dry. No winter ryegrass had yet emerged. It made for a difficult round if you did not hit near the cart path, as the course is quite hilly front to back and side to side. I was told the course was closed for 3 weeks for maintenance. Greens were full of dry and damaged areas. Hey, we played at American Golf's nearby Desert Lakes and conditions were much better. The greens and fairways there were recently overseeded and looked good. Also we were allowed to drive on the rough, even with new, tender grass emerging. El Rio is due to open on Oct. 13th and looks like it will be great.

This course was great. The layout was terrific with great views and local features that made the each hole something special. The course was in absolute perfect condition and the staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. I would absolutly refer anyone to play here if they are ever in the area or if they want to take a few days to play some golf on a great track.

13 of us drove down from vegas and no one was disappointed. great course and great service. every hole is a signature hole. no hole the same loved it. a few blind shots but not enough to be bothersome. great views of the river valley. 40 dollar local rate is stealing. air conditioned carts help with the immense heat play it before they over seed in august. highly recommended!!

This golf course has to be the best for the $$ that I paid for a round of golf. Even though the temperature was in the 80s at 7:30am. It wasn't really that bad at 11:30am when I finished the round. The price also included lunch. The course was immaculate, comparable to those that cost 3 to 4 times more elsewhere. It is on a desert canyon setting, with some breath taking views of the Colorado River and the Laughlin casinos. The course has all the typical desert canyon type holes and several holes with water. For the big hitters, there are several holes that provided risk/reward challenges. The fairway and tee boxes were excellent. The carts have GPS and a small cold air blower that help to cool the hot air. My only complain would the greens. Even though they provided the typical putting challenges, they were a little slow for my likings. All in all, I really enjoyed the golf course

Great course, Played June. ..so hot. Plenty of T boxes for everyone whatever your handicap may be. Golf Carts have mini-air conditioners to keep ya cool. Don't play here if you don't like hills. Very hilly but lots of fun! Greens look fast but aren't. Interesting holes, each feels different. Awesome course, would play again any time! Staff was really nice, helpful and informative.

Played Dec 27 and 28. One day with no wind, the next it was so bad the birds were grounded. Course is in great shape, staff is excellant. It looks like the greens are dead, but merely dormant and roll true and fast. fairways are lush and with seven sets of tee boxes, you can have the yardage right for you. The back nine is more difficult, much more so when the wind comes up. Lots of houses being built along the fairways and the views are spectacular.

The September special of $40 (green fees and cart with gps) was great, well worth it! Not sure I would pay full rack rate at this, or any high end course (only because I'm cheap). All in all, a great track, very scenic and challenging. Great staff also.

Played on 9/18 @0740. Great staff...very friendly and helpful. Day was very windy making an already challenging course more difficult. Tee boxes where in great shape. Fairways were cut perfect, rough was 1-2", greens were firm and FAST! SCARY FAST! All in all a great day even with the wind. They were running a September Special at $40. Will definitely play again.

played this course on 8-24 @ noon. Wasn't as hot as I expected, but pretty windy. Absolutley beautiful course, and like others have said great GPS. It's bombs away on almost every drive, fairways are tough to hit but not impossible. I only saw two other groups out on the course when I played and played in a little over 2 hours. The 18th hole is an incredible par 5, where it is so downhill gps told me I hit a 373 yard drive (i ususally drive about 240-250) so I was pretty pumped up. Nice to finish with a birdie!

This course is excellent. Played on 8-26-06 at 7:00 am and it wasn't as hot as I expected. The greens look slow but putted fast. The fairways look tight, but have generous landing areas. We played from the second to last tees and hit every club in the bag. The GPS is the best I have ever used. It tells you everything, including how far away the carts in front of you are. A must play!

LR is by far the best course I have ever played! It's a shame it's so far away. But, now LR is a definite stop every time I take a river trip! I've played LR 3 times, and my friend and I rarely saw anyone else playing. It's a desert course with some of the fastest greens you'll find. With a mining theme, the surroundings are interesting and a change of pace from the ordinary OC/LA/IE courses. LR is a golfer's paradise, if you can take the heat!

The golf course was in very good shape. The greens were very fast and about a 12-13 on the stemp meter (a little brown in spots but no problem). Fairways were very nice and the rough was medium in height. Over all I had a great time playing and the course is well worth the money !!!!
