I played this course on Saturday 11/12/10 as part of a 2 day golf trip which included this course and Monarch Dunes. I should state im a 5hc, so this review should be taken with that in mind.

Proshop: small, like really small... the proshop, bar and foodshack were all actually in the same building...err, a better word is room, they were all in the same room.

driving range: pretty good, balls were "floater" golf balls because of a small lake/ big puddle... so dont be surprised if they dont fly as far as the ball u normally play.

practice green: well kept, rolls true and pretty close to the speed of the greens on the course.

the Course.. the lay out is fun, nothing to exciting or challenging... pretty straight forward type of course where what you see ahead of you is exactly what you get. No gimmick holes, which i think is great. The greens are pretty consistent across the course, the fairways are nice, not thin or anything... though they had just been plugged so there were lots of dirt plugs everywhere.

this is definitely a course worth playing at least once... its fair and fun and straight forward... great course as far as scoring opportunities go. Also, 7 is blast, easily reachable with the driver from the tips so Eagle is a real chance, birdie is a must.

I play this course every time I'm in SLO...and every time it gets the better of me. There's nothing too crazy about the layout and the greens are too difficult, but I find it hard to score there. The central course is beautiful, and this course fits right in. The central coast is in an "afternoon discount" war. YOu can get a super deal in the afternoon at just about every course. Give this one a try.

Just came back from our Central Coast Trip. We went Friday, July 30th and played Monarch Dunes, Cypress Ridge (Friday), Hunter Ranch, Morro Bay (SAT) and La Purisima (Sun)

This was our course #2 on Friday. They are running a $25 special after 3 pm. Got there (at) 4:00 pm after Monarch Dunes. Got to the 1st tee and there was a 5 some, so the marshall allowed us to skip a few holes ahead and come back and play the 1st 5 holes after we finish. Clubhouse was not as nice as Monarch. Golf carts..were growing spider webs on them. Greens were firm and fast. Conditions were a touch nicer than Monarch Dunes although the views were not as scenic. The layout of this course is pretty unique, but similar to some of the courses we play in the Inland Empire in Los Angeles. Trees are in play on a lot of holes. We burned through 18 just before 8:30 pm. Will try this again with more time next time around.

Played 6/20/10 as part of our central coast golf outing. Of the 6 courses we played, I would say only Sandpiper was more enjoyable than Cypress. Great playing condition, good hole layout. Housing developments only added to our scenary enjoyment rather than distraction. Wish we could play here all summer but gotta go back to so cal. Worth the money.

WOW What a great course. Conditions were fantastic. Greens were quick and true. Great variety of holes. Long down hill par 3's and short up hill par 3's. A driveable par 4 and another that plays about 430 uphill. You'll use all your clubs on this one. Hope to get back here again soon.

I could play this course everyday and not get tired of it. Each time I've played it the golf course has been in great condition. Can't ask for much of a better golf experience. A must play.

Great Course. One of my favorite. The greens were rolling so smooth and quick. Very Pure. Can't wait to play Cypress Ridge again.

Would have been nice to know the greens were punched BEFORE we played! Hard to enjoy a round when you aren't expecting that. I don't think this course would be one of my favorites even if the greens were in great shape. Most of the holes are pretty straight forward in design but the majority of the fairways are steep- up, down, or sideways. Makes it tough to place a shot because even the best shot will roll somewhere else. A couple of very interesting holes, a couple of standards. No.7 is a fairly short par 4. The simple shot is down into a steep canyon that leaves you uphill over rough to the green. Risk/Reward- those of you with long drives can cut the corner and carry the green. Some of the holes have nice views, some are just in the middle of houses and look like any course anywhere. Lots of uphills and downs so if you are walking be prepared. I won't go out of my way to play this course again.

We called in the morning to book a tee time and drove an hour then paid and went out and at the first green discovered they were punched. To me thats inconsiderate, there were many other courses we could have played if we had been told. Its an interesting course with lots of hills but many make the course almost unplayable. Severely uphill off the tee to the point that you need to hit 3 or 5 wd to get the ball up the hill. Side hill fairways that force your shot all the way across to the rough on the downhill side. The sand was like beach sand. Almost too soft. Overall not a good experience!
