As a pretty high handicapper which is the best golf iron. I like more traditional irons. I would say that my irons are not really a problem with my game and I hit them relatively consistently and far, but I still play irons to improve the game with strong lofts.

High handicap or low, each and everyone will pair a specific club.
Most high handicap will lean to a more forgiving club to help correct an unintended type of shot. They will mainly be the clubs with more offset on them. But that doesn't mean lower handicapped golfers would not take advantage or use the more offset clubs.

If you are looking to find "a well made club", most the leader or popular brands are in good quality or their warrantee would kick in.
