Hitting the ball a total of 805 yards in 3 shots to hole out on a 596 yard par 5 illustrates perfectly the losing of distance due to hazard stakes recent discussion.

Hard to believe that no one has previously holed out from farther than 176 yards on the PGA Tour since shot link stats were introduced?

The goal has always been long and straight! But since I can no longer hit them long, hopefully straighter could be achieved more than occasionally?

Wow, crazy!

To avoid starting two threads linking to news articles, here's another amazing one: Two guys in the same foursome aced No. 8 at Rustic last weekend.

My favorite par save ever? Playing with Kassper7 against Alex and Gregholla at the Classic course at Mile Square in our GK team cup match last year ... we're on the par 4 14th hole with water right and of course I dunk it right off the tee. Take my drop at water's edge and flush a 7i that reaches the green over the lake but about 35 feet or so from the hole. Line it up and it rolls right at and into the cup to save par with a penalty and long lag justice.

I think this thread should definitely now have everyone tell their own favorite par-saving story ...

My Favorite was at Sierra Star in Mammoth. First hole I hooked my tee shot into OB. I re-tee and pull another but luckily hit a tree to kick me back into the fairway but I still had 200 yards in. I Pulled out my 7 iron due to the elevation and some wind. I crushed a high towering shot and the ball went straight in on the fly for a 4.

Can't beat that one for distance, different direction too with a huge slice tee shot.

Cascata #3 par 5 531yds.
Got leg on the tee shot missing wide right. Dave our fore caddie's eagle eye spots it and says it might be in second fairway. I say great because I missed it hitting the bunker playing #2. Sure enough great lie. Hit a 7 iron over the trees back in the middle where a long bomber might be. Solid 5 wood leaves me about 80 in. Pitching wedge to 10 feet make the putt.

Most recent many others...

Here's another for the "remarkable golf story" category:
https://golf.com/news/how-golfer-was-tied-for-lead-on-final-hole-made-e agle-and-lost/

Edit: For some reason the forum keeps adding a space to that url. Delete the space in the word "eagle" when you paste it in your browser.
