I don't think we missed many shots from any of the groups when they were covering Tiger. They showed every shot of the Daly group on the last 5 or 6 holes. I think you all miss the point that this coverage is for the average fan; the guy that doesn't care who wins or loses a two man scramble, it is about eyeballs on the screen and Tiger still makes that happen. Nobody cares about the Cink's or the Player's, they care about Tiger and his kid and the fact that Tiger just ran his car off of a cliff 9 months ago and is actually playing golf. That is compelling and will draw viewers.

All the negative comments can, and should be directed at all golf coverage, you never see the fight for 20th place or a guy trying to keep his card or the guy trying to make enough points to make it into the top 125 so he doesn't have to worry about getting into another event for the rest of the year, you only see the top 2 groups and that is it. Frankly, all golf coverage is sh-t ty and it doesn't give any tournament full coverage or satisfy any true golf fan's desires on what they want to see, but they sure get in plenty of ads.

QUOTED  Average $$$ Per PGA Tour round played: $94,123

Average $$$ Per Hole played on the PGA Tour: $5,078

Average $$$ Per Stroke played on the PGA Tour: $1,259

Someone's math doesn't add up. Going off of the $5,078 per hole that would be $91,404 per round (very impressive to say the least) which seems about right.

But $1,259 per stroke seems off quite a bit. First off that would mean Tiger is averaging 4 strokes per hole for an average score of 72. I don't think he would have won and made the weekend very much with average scores of 72 (maybe the US open but that's about it).

QUOTED  I dont like how the PNC Tournament was 75% tiger coverage even though John Daly and Son won the event I dont recall seeing a lot of them.

If you are a commercial sponsor who do you want coverage of? Tiger? or John Daly (Sr.)? The producers know that the majority of viewers don't want to watch John Daly. I noticed that John II was dressed in a respectful and tasteful manner and not like his dad. He seems to take the game much more seriously than Daly did.

Just like we've discussed before, more viewers equals more sponsors and higher prize money .

I didn't watch Sunday, but I watched an hour of Saturday and there seemed to be some good coverage of John II throughout.

QUOTED  I noticed that John II was dressed in a respectful and tasteful manner and not like his dad.

I didn't mind the style so much as the wrinkles. Big John doesn't iron I guess. His kid is a stick. Won it with his play on Saturday.
Most everytime I saw Big John on TV he had a butt going.
Of course they showed too much Tiger even with the what 11 hole birdie run. (Charlie carried him)
The Daly's didn't mind the Tiger effect on the purse. Nor any of the teams with $40k DAL money.
Amateurs and minors can't take the prize money but the Christmas present just got sweeter.

Here’s the prize money payout breakdown for every team at this week’s event.

Win: John and John II Daly, -27 $200,000

2: Tiger and Charlie Woods, -25, $80,000

T-3: Justin and Mike Thomas, -24, $53,625

T-3: Stewart and Reagan Cink, -24, $53,625

T-5: Vijay and Qass Singh, -21, $48,500

T-5: Tom and Sean Lehman, -21, $48,500

7: Matt and Cameron Kuchar, -20, $47,000

T-8: Mark and Shaun O'Meara, -19, $45,500

T-8: Henrik and Karl Stenson, -19, $45,500

T-10: Rich and Michael Beem, -18, $44,500

T-10: Gary and Jordan Player, -18, $44,500

Haha, I guess Golf Channel is justified in their "major like" treatment with talking heads discussing each day's events on a dark outdoor set like they do for many majors. I'll admit I enjoyed watching it more than I expected to. Pretty fun event.
