So I was warming up today before our round at willowick and the entire crown off my f9 blew off the club. Headed to roger Dunn in the morning to see what they can do for me as far as warranty through cobra. I've only had it about 2 months and dont use it very much. Anyone ever hear about this happening? Seems to me like the carbon crown just ejected itself off the club.

Not specific to the Cobra F9 before. But, yes, I have heard of a few times where these multi-material drivers will crack, etc. It is defo a product quality control issue and often is exposed by higher swing speeds, jarring things loose. Could just be a bad glue/weld, depending on how its manufactured. Any luck with Roger Dunn? I thought their return policy was 90 days to get an exchange or credit.

When I purchased my F9+ one of the cons was that I read a few people were having issues with the crown on warm days. I dint have any problems with the one I had but sadly it was stolen 8 months after I bought it.

Yep it happens, but not often. Cobra will replace it.

Cobra replaced F7 and F8 drivers for me just because the paint was coming off.

If you have any problems with Roger Dunn (highly unlikely), Cobra is down in San Diego, and I've worked directly with them on returns.

Roger Dunn swapped it out for a new one and I picked up a like new 58 jaws wedge to replace a damaged one since they were so cool about the driver warranty.

With the multi material construction on the woods , holding together with epoxy, the OEM had figured in the replacement cost into the MSRP within the warranty period. Don't be surprise if someone bought a new OLD Stock several years down the road and couldn't get replacement from defects.

I don't see we'll ever find these high tech drivers survived into the future like the oldies. Epoxy several very different material ( density and flexibility ) together is not a formula for longevity. The solid persimmon wood will survive centuries. These glued together drivers will fall apart unless someone could epoxy the parts again.

Get your OEM replacement as soon as you can before they refuse to replace the defective drivers. Trust me, the designer knew of the possible defect just like the automobile industry knew of their product before they put it on the market.
