played 2/24. howling wind (i'd guess 20+ mph), which made things interesting. disappointed by the greens, shaggy, slow and often bumpy compared to usual. visited a number of bunkers unfortunately, but they were consistent (nice, fine sand). pace was ok. solid value even for an out of towner, $45 walking on friday.

played weekend of 7/30. ~7am time, wind was up which made it interesting. played as 4some, pace was ok, waited on most holes until 15, but finished in ~4.5 hrs. course in solid shape, enjoyed it as usual. rough is low, pretty easy. greens are receptive, rolling true if a little slow. one bunker i was in (8 greenside) sand was wet and heavy. saw drink cart once on 14, but that's not a big deal for me. great value even for a non resident, just have to grin and bear the not so great holes (imo 11, 18)

This is by far one of the best public courses in the area. They have excellent twilight rates a good driving range (grass) and spectacular views. The course is well maintained, the greens can be a little bumpy. Not the longest or most challenging course, but one of my favorites.

the conditions of this course is great... greens seemed hairy/grainy but they rolled great

greens and fairways were firm, drives got extra run out (something im not use to playing in the bay area) greens were tough to read at time and pitch shots were tricky to stop. overall i loved it

but at time it got boring because I was not able to pull out driver much playing from the tips... alot of layup holes with hybrid or 3 wood

still very challenging some misses will just keep rolling towards the hazards

conditions are great though, fairways were perfect, rough was good, greens were good (though seems people don't like fixing their ball marks)

played last weekend (1/8/11). course is in pretty good shape considering the recent rains and overnight frost. I walked, but many fairways were open to carts which was pretty surprising. greens are in very good shape for this time of year. rough is cut down, pretty forgiving. fairways were wet in low areas (approach to 15 was the worst). makes for very "tight" lies, but i didn't lose a shoe in muck or anything so i guess it was ok. still a great deal!

On Tuesday 7 Dec, both of us checked in for 11:00 tee time. Staff was friendly and helpful, as this was our first visit. Parking lot access very simple and convenient with the carts. Range facilities are excellent for the warm up, and 2 putting greens have ample room for getting used to the greens. Good F&B in the grill and a well stocked pro shop.
Fairly full field on a warm "winter" day gave us some waiting at tees (round time 4+40). The starter was pleasant and briefed us to local rules and the cart on path holes. Recent rain increased the path holes to 4 (plus the par 3s); suspect as winter moves along, most of the course will be carts on paths.
Tees in good shape, fairways lush and cut down very low and lots of areas a little soggy, so not a lot of run today. Rough is very lush and trimmed nicely. All sand was excellent. Greens were good to great. Nicely designed, lush and rolling true with not too many bumps; maybe a little slow but soft enough to hold the shots and work the ball. First time here, not last, and loved the layout with 2 very different, engaging, and challenging nines from any tee. We decided late to play this course and therefore paid the rack rate for showing up. Worth it .

Marshals don't seem to care much or understand the concept of bottlenecks, group behind us was told they should keep up when the problem as usual was a few groups ahead of us. Greens are still in great shape, though a bit slower than last week, which is more realistic for these greens.

played 8/27. i'm not always a fan of this course, but right now the conditions are awesome...greens are rolling fast and true, healthy without any browning. almost too fast for many of the contours - if you're in the wrong place, play several feet of break and you can still have an uphill comeback putt of 5 feet. fairways are dry/brown in spots from the recent heat, but firm/fast fairways are a good thing as far as i'm concerned. if callippe is in your usual rotation, get out there now! and if you're so inclined, the replay rate is $18, can't beat that with a bat.

Played last Wednesday, Wild Wed. for only $39.00. Live in the City but for that price, I'll go the extra distance. I have always enjoyed Callippe as everything from the pro shop to the greens are top shelf. Some greens were a bit sandy but still rolled true as can be. Staff is friendly and helpful. Fairways are beautiful, rough is lush and fairly thick but fair. Layout is fun and challenging but not gimmicky. Carts are peppy. Refreshment cart girl was very nice and friendly although she had to cut her day short due to backfiring cart. One of my favs! Wish I lived closer...
