Drove up from San Francisco today to play and as always this place is worth the drive! Greens are so good and run true. Fairways very good, just make sure you stay there. If you are not in the fairway it makes the course play LONG!!! If you are in the area play this course and go on line to make your t-time. Up to 27 day in advance and you will save on the green fees.

Beware of unfriendly reception at front desk. Being picky but no pencil with the scorecard on the cart. Fairways are wide and in decent shape altho many spots where rain or overwatering causes soggy conditions. Must be very cautious and calculating on your green approach shots. Greens are undulating, fast and do not hold unless you approach properly. What makes it difficult is that many greens and flag sticks can be located in the most unfriendly spots making it even more difficult to 2 putt. The rough is manageable.
Wind picks up in the afternoon. Snack bar or restaurant is well managed with good food.
Not sure I would go back because of the greens.

Played Thursday using Golfnow Deal $140/foursome. It 'twas a beautiful Napa day. Club house facilities is very nice, did not eat there. Cart person is efficient and saw her three times evenly spaced, had a tuna sandwich at the turn snack bar which was fine. Pace was deliberately casual as we were not pushed. Atmosphere is peaceful with many vineyards and some water hazards. Conditions overall good, tee boxes trim and flat, fairways green and running for the most part. There were some soggy spots and some bare spots both on the fairway and rough but bearable or should I say bare-able. Greens were punched kinda recently but were completely healed with some sanding. B+ for greens. Layout is interesting but I find Eagle Vines more fun. The 8th hole par 3 has an elevated tee box down to a green shaped like a river running side to side with waterfall like undulations. Fun hole because you need to be dead on notwithstanding the short distance. For $30.00 this was a steal deal but I paid $40 for Eagle Vines and would play there instead. Both good courses especially if you snag a good deal!

Played this course for the first time on Sunday, it was great. I like the layout with 6 par 3’s and 6 par 5’s. The first hole has a wide fairway but they tighter as you go. Most of the par 5’s are reachable in 2 if you dare. The greens were very firm but they are punching the greens today. I look forward to returning to this course.

PLAYED THIS SCENIC COURSE ON 6/16/12. NICE LAYOUT WITH WIDE VARIETY OF HOLE DESIGNS, DOGLEGS, NARROW OPENING PARS 3 AND SOME CHALLENGING PAR 5'S THAT HAVE LATERAL DRY CREEK HAZARDS. THE ADJACENT VINEYARDS PROVIDE THE BOUNDARIES BETWEEN FAIR AND OUT OF BOUND ENTRIES THROUGHOUT THE COURSE. ELEVATION CHANGES FROM TEE BOXES TO FAIRWAYS LANDSCAPE BOTH FRONT AND BACK NINES. COURSE IS VERY FORGIVING PROVIDING WIDE FAIRWAYS THAT ARE SEEN ON A LINKS STYLE COURSE. STAFF WAS EXTREMELY COURTEOUS AND FRIENDLY FROM FRONT DESK, TO BARTENDER AND GOLF CART RETURN PERSON. THE GOLF CART PERSON GOES BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY OFFERING WET TOWELS AND GREETING US WARMLY AND EXTENDING COURTESY BEYOND THE NORM. IT IS DEFINITELY MUST PLAY COURSE. THE ONLY AREAS THAT MAY NEED ATTENTION ARE THE COURSE SAND TRAPS AND ACCURACY OF THE YARDAGE MARKERS. PRICE OF THIS COURSE IS A LITTLE HIGH.

New 6-6-6 layout is very interesting. As a big hitter I love more Par 5's. The wind made this course play way longer than usual though. The ground was very firm for a tight driving course where you need to put the ball in the fairway or barely outside of it. I had a couple balls hit the fairway and run into the vineyards.

The course was in great shape except for the greens. I spent the entire days fixing ball marks on the greens. They still rolled very quick and fairly smooth, but the bumps did effect some putts. I've played the course when the greens are in great shape. When they are, this course is top notch. Right now this course is middle of the road.

Eagle Vines right next door probably has them on course maintenance right now.
