Met a good friend of mine to play Paradise Valley while up in the Bay Area visiting family. A very cold morning on 12/7, 38 degrees on the car thermometer when we arrived. Had a 7:52 time and as we checked in, we got the news that there would be up to an hour delay because of the frost. Oh well. It turned out to be a about a 30 minute delay and after a nice breakfast, off we went. Got a $32 deal on their web site. I really enjoyed this course. Everything about this place was great. Huge clubhouse with adjoining restaurant, nice and friendly staff in the club house and throughout the course. Even though we were delayed, the starter got us out in order. Pace of play was just about 4 hours. Had to wait on a foursome ahead but nothing to complain about. The course is in very nice condition. Fairways are plush and are generous. Pretty flat layout but very enjoyable. A few dog legs and some of them around water. Had very good lies all day. The rough is just right, not too thick and playable. The sand traps are good, firm sand. The greens are rather large and are excellent. They rolled very well. I had a great time playing here and look forward to getting out here again. Paradise Valley and sister course Rancho Solano provide great golfing experiences. The restaurant is also very nice. Hats off to the folks who run these courses.

Played Paradise Valley GC as a GK Review Guru round on 10-19 with GK’ers sixpex, rgm2525 and jerry64. We teed up at 7:45am and my thin SoCal blood was having some issues with the cold morning, lol. By the end of the round it had warmed up at least 25 degrees. My first impression entering the course was immediately how clean and impressive the clubhouse was. Started the day with a delicious breakfast burrito in their large restaurant/sports bar. After our round we had lunch there as well. Great place to grab a bite.

As for the course it was in great shape. Very lush, very green. Greens ran moderately fast, smooth and mostly firm. Fairways lush with great lies all day. Rough 2-3 inches think and penalizing. Bunkers in excellent condition with soft quality sand. Tee boxes level, lush and nice shape. In terms of layout, flat with some water hazards, mostly wide fairways, strategically placed bunkers, large greens with some undulation, good variety of holes, some holes surrounded by homes and others not, some doglegs and in general a long course. Solid demanding course. I posted a bunch of photos so check them out.

Service all day was excellent. Very friendly, professional and organized.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course, POP around 4hrs 15min. I would very much like to play it again - or even spend a Sunday there watching NFL football - after my round of course!

Played Paradise Valley on 10/19/16 as part of a GK Guru Deal. Course is nicely maintained and lush. Early morning 7:40 tee time so plenty of dew on the ground early. Fairways are rather wide so hitting them should not be a problem, not a gimmie but fair. Rough was probably 2-3 inches and thick, causing some difficulty in recovery shots. Bunker coverage was good around the green. Found a few fairway bunkers and my first thought was possibly just a bit much sand in hen I like to see. Greens were good. Medium speed and held most shots well.
Customer service was outstanding, friendly knowledgeable and willing to help with all your needs. Fun course to play and definitely worth the price, recommend playing if you have the chance.

Played 10-19-16 with John, Keith, and Jerry in a GKGuru round in about 4 hours and 15 minutes in carts. Tee boxes were in real good shape, level and lush. Fairways were in great shape, very lush and soft with little roll out. Rough was about 2-3 inches and very thick. Was in a couple of fairway bunkers that had a lot of very soft sand. Greens were in good shape, rolling medium speed and holding shots real good, maybe a little to soft. Course is mostly flat with wide fairways, some minor doglegs and a few water holes. Fun solid course to play. Costumer service was great.

The second leg of our Norcal GK Guru trip was a double-header in Fairfield today. Played with JohnnyGK, jerry64 and rgm2525 and we teed off at Paradise Valley around 7:45. We stayed on top of the group in front of us and the group behind kept pace, so it was a good overall time around 4 hours, 15 minutes.

The course was in very nice condition overall. The tee boxes were good. The fairways were pretty lush and green, providing mostly ideal lies throughout the round. The rough was also lush and just thick enough to make you work for good recoveries. I wasn't in any bunkers, so no comments there. I really liked the greens, which had great putting surfaces rolling at good speeds.

I didn't come into this round with any specific expectations and found this course to be a very enjoyable overall experience. It's a solid layout with a decent mix of holes, but it's a fairly forgiving design with wide fairways and large-ish greens. Flat overall terrain with trees, creeks and a few water hazards providing the hole shapes and contours. Nice overall setting. Nice clubhouse with a great restaurant/bar area inside.

I love to play the Paradise Valley Golf Course. This course offers free cold water in many holes and the snack truck comes by three to four times during the round. This is a great course. The staff at the pro shop is friendly and the marshalls are very polite and professional. The pace is about 4.5 hours for a round and it has very little waiting. The course is in very good condition. Greens are well maintained and the fairways are green. There is hardly any brown area on the fairways but the roughs are tall. There are many bunkers through out the course especially on #14, a short par 4 with 6, 7, or 8 bunkers protecting the greens. The course in general is very flat. You shouldn't have problem if you elect to walk this course.

To play well here you need to hit straight, play the bunkers well, get out of the roughs at ease, and avoid the water hazards.

We got a very good deal playing here but you can also find great deals online.

Greens were punched end of February but greens still a couple of weeks away from smoothing out. Otherwise fairways and rough were in nice shape. Some of the tee boxes were really beat up but I'm sure they'll change the tee box markers around soon. Most of the trouble is on the right side so slicers beware. Fairways are wide but lots of trees and some water hazards. Fairly interesting but mostly straight and flat. Got a good rate but a bit of a drive for us San Franciscans. Cart lady was nice and ran into her 3 or 4 times. Weather nice now but gets hot in the summer. Used a coupon bought back in December that expires end of month. Aeration rate was cheaper than coupon so that was a loss. We tried to book weekends a couple of times but were unsuccessful. It was a waste for the weekday rate. Beware of these coupons that they sell in December because if it's a rainy winter you might put the coupon away and forget about it until closer to the deadline then you remember about it just about the time they are aerating.

Played 2nd Sunday consecutively hoping for similar good conditions but alas the cumulative rainfall finally saturated this course. Don't know why this happened but I called the pro shop Friday and was told no plans for cart path only for Sunday. When we arrived, guy at pro shop said it's been cart path only all week. Hmm. Got to the first tee and starter mentioned that foursome ahead of us are good golfers but heavy betters so they take their time. Because of that, a tee time is blocked after them. They were walking so the cart path only did not make them slower but it was a 5 and one half hour round. Never again will we play behind these guys again. Course was very wet on the fairways. Greens were very soft with spike marks aplenty. Rough was grown out so much that we either lost balls or took too much time to locate them. To be fair, there won't be too many courses in better conditions but right now we're going to try other courses.
