Played afternoon 6-4-05. First time playing here. The weather was terrific. This course is halfway between Sac and SF, and while it is not as cool as SF, it is noticeably cooler than Sac. I played as a single, and after a brief wait, they squeezed me in without a problem. This facility has a B+ clubhouse with an A+ staff in terms of friendliness. The lack of attitude was refreshing. The practice facilities are very nice too...with one exception. They pipe music into these little speakers all around the practice green. It's a little hard to concentrate on golf when you're listening to disco at 1p on a Saturday afternoon. As for the course, the overall conditions were B+. Everything was above average, although I give the cart service and the marshals an A. They were very helpful and nice - the marshal kept play moving and was informative as to what was happening in front of us. As a result, we finished in exactly 4 hours - coming from SoCal, that is excellent. I played from the white tees, and even though the wind was up, the course isn't especially difficult. The greens were in good condition, but not overly fast or contoured. There is no rough, and water only came into play on about 3 holes. There isn't really any OB either, and there aren't a lot of trees. There are, however, a lot of doglegs and short par 4s with some twists, i.e., you can't really bomb it here. I give this course an "A" for value ($50 to walk before twilight).
