First time player at this course, made an hour drive on 2/16/13 for my 12:30 tee time. Course was very busy, pace of play slow, as it was a beautiful February weekend afternoon. The difficulty of this course is in its greens. Most greens are quite large, with several undulations. Greens were quite fast as well.

Had the frustrating experience of putting for eagle and having the ball roll back to my feet after stopping about five feet from the hole. Other than that, I enjoyed the experience. Most par 5s are reachable in two with proper strategy and long tee shots. Course has a lot of risk/reward shots.

Pro shop staff was very helpful, food decent in the bar/restaurant. Green fee paid was $40 with cart for mid-day weekend round. Might return if I am in the area. I feel now that I have played the course once I can shave quite a few strokes off of my score.

Excellent municipal course in the hills north of Fairfield. The back nine is definitely more challenging than the front nine. The greens are huge and very challenging. My score skyrocketed with a couple of FOUR putt greens. Staying below the the hole is imperative, especially on #7, an otherwise relatively easy par 5 where I three putted from 10 feet for a very disappointing bogie. Most greens are elevated from the fairway and require an additional club or two, especially if the wind is blowing. Greens are fast to very fast and undulating. Fairways are beautiful. #11 requires a water carry of about 125 yards to the green, made more difficult if the wind is against you. Course is a great workout if you walk.

Great day on a magnificent presentation with some fine golfers. Our 4 ball teed off at 1100 following many others making the pace around 5 hours; unusual for this track. Tee to green all aspects of course maintenance and presentation was superb. Very lush conditions exist; rough running around 4 inches, fairways lush and not too quick, tees good, sand good at times poor, greens great!! Greens very soft, holding beautifully, but quick, true and smooth; just the way you like it. Layout is engaging enough and challenge good. Staff friendly with good marshaling and good drinks cart passes all day. Carts have GPS. Not bad value on ezlinks at $35. Enjoy.

Finally a break in the weather allowed everyone out on a good day; very busy field made for a 5 hour round. Tuesday 18 Jan, 4 of us teed off at 1140 with winter golf conditions, dew and wet throughout the course included 5 holes of carts on path only; plus of course par 3 holes. Slow going on a well presented manicured layout. All aspects of playability were good. Greens were very good; soft, true and just a few bumps. Good service all around, marshals quite busy and plenty of drinks cart business. Birdiebug.com riding: $26.

Monday 25 Oct 1130 tee, 4 ball. With carts on path today due 2 inches of rain the last 3 days, this course was in remarkable shape; round time 4+20. Draining nicely, a little soggy on the fairways, and the sand almost drained, the greens were beautiful, holding and putting true; just a little slow.
NO run on any tee shot made the course play about 2 shots harder than normal. All other aspects of the course good. Lots of drinks cart passes. A good day. golfnow 'hotdeal' $31 riding. Coring of greens begins next week.

Wednesday 3 Feb 11:45 tee 2 ball; very quiet with only another twosome ahead but a few fours behind. Paced at 3 hrs 30 min. Lots of rain lately and 4 holes were carts on paths; still a lot of runoff and casual water. Winter rules though so no dramas. Greens are in as good a shape as usual, very soft and holding well, a little bumpy and medium speed. Elsewhere, fairways were soft, rough damp to wet, sand was good, and the course did play long. Surprised to see as many drinks cart passes as we did for a quiet day; good. Enjoyed the layout and challenge as always. Golfnow 'hot deal' $31. Birdiebug a little cheaper. Enjoy.
