played weekend of 9/10. early time on lake/mountain, got around quickly as a 3 some (under 4 hrs). course is playing great - greens are rolling true, decently fast but still pretty receptive. noticing crowning on the tees (back tees this time) which is a minor annoyance. great value as always via golfnow, and not having to play canyon 9 is a bonus!

played weekend of 6/4/11, lake/canyon. early time, got around pretty quickly. course is in great shape as usual. guy in the shop said they didn't punch this spring because of the rain, the greens are firm (but manageable), didn't leave much in the way of pitchmarks. not as fast as they can be during the summer, but rolling great. some of the teeboxes are getting crowned, minor annoyance. always a great golf experience here!

12:50 tee time, Canyon/Mountain nines. Course in firm and fast condition. Greens in good condition overall, some scarring from ballmarks and lightly topdressed with sand. Fairways nicely firm with healthy turf and good lies. Bunkers were in good shape with loose sand and consistent texture. Good deal in my book, online res for $49 and good weather. This is a challenging and interesting course, play it now before the heat comes.

played weekend of 3/12/11, mountain canyon. pace was slow for cinnabar, took almost 5 hrs. greens are pretty good, receptive, a bit slower than I'm used to here. but solid. fairways/rough in fine shape. tee boxes (cinnabar tees) are getting to be fairly crowned, tough to find a level lie. overall very good condition, only a few wet spots, but no restrictions on carts.

One of the most challenging course in the bay area. It is a great warm up rounds if you are headed to Pebble/Spyglass/Poppy. Did not get to play the Lake 9holes. Did not get photos of Canyon #2, but that is a scary par 4, downhill drive and tight approach. Very picturesque with conditions at a very high level.

I got to play here 12/8 with 2pm twilight special at $30. I was expecting a just an ok course but when we got here from the San Jose Airport (20 min drive), we were absolutely delighted. This course had lot of elevations and greens were smooth and fast even in the rain. Layout was very fun but challenging if going after tucked pins on the green. Course has lots of trouble if you're too aggressive and miss your mark. Lots of drop off and hazard area ready to swallow your golf ball. Lots of lost golf ball in the hazard areas but be careful, there are rattle snakes here. I would highly recommed it for low to mid hdcp golfers wanting an interesting golf round. This is not a easy course so be prepared when you come here. My buddy (3 hdcp) and I (8 hdcp) absolutely enjoyed this place and will be back next time we're in town. It was great warm up for our rounds at Pebble.

(golfnow, whadda bargain...) lake/mountain, which was nice. redoing/widening fairway bunkers on lake 3, played as GUR. greens are in pretty good shape for here, which is to say they're in great shape overall. firm, rolling well. overall great condition, dependability of conditioning keeps me coming back (and having to play canyon 9 always makes me reconsider). pace of play was an issue, i guess you never know who's going to sign up for early morning rounds.

Great course....very challenging but what I didnt like was the lack of marshalls coming around

played 6/16 650am, mountain/canyon. (seems like i haven't played lake in forever.) 2nd green on mountain was beat up from ballmarks, but greens are otherwise in fantastic shape, rolling fast and true. yee hah! bunkers were another story, the ones i visited were packed and wet. i still don't love canyon 9 (4th with the tree right in the middle of the fairway is silly, and 7th straight uphill to a blind green isn't very fun) but otherwise a great course and i'm struck each time by the beautiful surroundings. and it's a great value (with early bird deal) to boot!
