Played a Guru outing with JohnnyGK, Sixpez and rgm2525 a few weeks back. This was my first time playing with other GK'ers. Made the trip up to the east bay and enjoyed the Carneros HWY as it wrapped it's way around Napa, Sonoma, and Valley of the Moon.

First time up to Oakmont and was impressed with the layout. The course is cut around a established development of homes. It had a country club look and feel, but w/o all the "stuffyness". Check in was easy, and they had a nice bar/restaurant area with a friendly staff. Didn't eat, but enjoyed the traditional Tito's Bloody Mary (Swingjuice) before i started to warm up.

Driving range double-ended with bays going east to west and west to east. The range is small so they use dialed down range balls. Yardage markers work left to right, with the longest one on the left going around 200yds and ends on the right at about 75. They have large nets setup between 50 and 75 yards for short game practice.

Directly behind the west side driving range is the putting green which is multitiered. The putting green was in great shape, recently rolled, and matched up with the greens conditions on the course.

The course was fun. Some long par 3's and some technical par 5's with dog legs, and trees that are in play. Houses line most of the holes, older style ranch homes with backyards that open up to the course.

Water comes into play on several holes. I didn't see a yardage book available at the pro-shop, but you definitely want to pay attention to the hole signs.

Overall it was a fun course, and I had a great time with the other Gk'ers. Would play again if I am in the area.

Played Edgewood Tahoe on Saturday, September 3rd. 10:00 AM Tee time. Upon arrival we were greeted by the lot attendant who valet'd our bags and got them to the driving range which is about 50 yards away. Check in was in the main clubhouse and very smooth. Easy to get carried away with the amount of gear and accessories they have available. Bloody Mary's to go from Brooks Bar & Grill were delicious, had a very appetizing looking breakfast buffet available.

Weather: Low 50's, high humidity, winds calm, mix of blue and clouds. Not cold but not warm.

Driving range: Clean, green, no mats, very little divots. Range balls are included with the fee. Adirondack chairs and tables and bag stands. Starter working the range. Lake Tahoe is about 60 yards away, just on the other side of the 18th green.

Starter greets you at your cart, gives you some basic directions. and gets you off. Played the blues... playing at 5800" so the ball is flying.

Its very easy to get caught up in this courses surroundings. It's like Pebble Beach when it comes to beauty. You want to focus but you get caught up. (I took like 30 photos).

The tee box's are perfect...and lined correctly. You can play the Red's to the tips along with white/blue Combo tees.

Fairways are wide for the most part. Some holes like 9 and 16 have trees in the middle of the fairway. Some mild undulations in the fairways, a few water hazards but nothing crazy.

Greens: Smallest and fastest greens I have ever played. Pure and true. You need to stick it on the green to keep it there (high trajectory shots) or you can run it up playing it short. Toughest part of the course. They were either long and narrow or narrow and deep. Lot's of front pin placements. Putting was all about speed here, lines were straight.

Traps were superb. Sand was level and fair, not to bouncy, yet not to thick.

9,16, 17, and 18 are beautiful holes. Big Blue is bearing down on you. Wind was up on the back 9 as you get closer to the lake.

You really need to club down here or dial in your distance on the range before you play, and take your time doing it. I shot a 93. I was consistently throwing the ball over the green on the approach shots. My PW which is usually good to 140 was going 160+ I could not figure it out till late in the round.

It's a bucket list course. I will play it differently next time now that I know what to do.

Played in a tournament here on Monday August 1st. 9:30 shotgun start. Was cool and dry. Driving range was a bit beat up from weekend play. No mat's here which is great, but ground was definitely beat.

Course is always in great shape, some of the best greens in N. California. Ball rolls true and pure. Pin's were tough but approachable.

Played Yocha DeHe on Sunday 8/7 in their "Sizzling Summer" tournament. The course is in pristine shape as always, even considering the triple digit temps it averages in the summer.

I noticed that they have let some areas go dry, but these are areas that are way out of range of the ball path (and yes I ended up there!)

Greens are rolling true, and the fairways a fast without being thin. Sand is pristine, and the tee boxes are lush and straight.

It was a full on tournament. 6 holes of scramble, 6 holes of best ball, and 6 holes of alternating shots. Two man teams. Was a lot of fun, and played in just a hair over 5hrs.

This is a Troon property so the staff and service provided is always excellent. You can tell they truly enjoy working at the course. When you see the Dir. of Golf running the driving range shuttle b/c he wants to, you know you have the right people working for you.

Played Boundary 7/22 & 7/23. The Course is hosting a Web.com tour event today (7/25). Course is in excellent shape. New sand in the bunkers has leveled out. Greens are true and fast, especially after 11:00AM in the Diablo valley heat. Some burn spots short of the greens but doesn't effect you unless you are short, however they tend to help you with rolling it up and on.

The tee boxes have had a lot of use and some are a little beat, but with amount of play the place has been getting, coupled with tournament prep, they should be back to normal soon.

Overall the course is in great shape and a lot of fun to play. Definitely a great value in the East Bay.

Played Graeagle Meadows on the 13th & 16th of June. The front 9 is one of the wider open layout's in the Mohawk Valley, and allows you to "get dialed in" before the back 9.

Many doglegs and mild undulations throughout the course. Sets up well for those of you who are confident off the tee with your driver. You won't get penalized too bad if you miss the fairway's, but you will have to hit some great approach/2nd shots to make par. Very important to find your line. I would also say you get about an extra 10 yds of distance at this course. Could have been the weather that day but the ball was really jumping.

Definitely grab a yardage book at the pro-shop. There are some holes with extreme doglegs that will eat you up unless you hit your target off the tee.

Great course and customer service along with the bar and restaurant. They have a special on Tuesday's!

Played Plumas Pines on the 14th & 17th of last month. Course was in great shape as usual. The rains have really helped with the area and everything is lush. The driving range is in great shape, as is the practice area between 10 and 18.

The course setup is fair, but still technical. 4th hole is probably the most challenging with houses on the right and a arm of the Feather River to the left.

Played mid week so it was not packed. Played in about 4:15 minutes.

Played twice in the past week. Once for a tournament, second with some friends. The course as usual is in pristine shape. The course, the staff, the practice facilities, restaurant, and the facility overall is top notch. Outside of the Monterey Peninsula, this is the top course in Northern California. As a tournament director, I would not hesitate to host a tournament here. The overall experience from the property to the service provided is top notch. The course is managed by Troon, and as usual, the service they provide is second to none.

The carts are all new and include a USB port for charging your GPS, phone, or portable speaker so you can listen to 80's power ballads while you play.

The course itself is set in the Capay Valley and is adjacent to Cache Creek Casino. It's a 75 minute drive from the East Bay, an hour from Napa, and 30 minutes from Sacramento.

The course is competitive and fun for any golfer and plays from 7300 to 5400. Each hole has different sightlines and provides different views from throughout the valley from the 1st through the 18th.

The carts come equipped with GPS finders, along with hole flyovers, and the ability to keep score. Depending on the weather, you are greeted after the round with a hot or cold towel to warm up or cool off.

If you are going to play golf in Northern California, you need to add this course to your list.

Played Wente Sunday 8/16. 10:00AM tee time. Diablo Valley has been scorching with triple digit heat and haze from fires up north.

Course is in incredible shape. Greens are pure, and rolling around 11 according to the staff. Fairways were perfect, no bald or burn spots. Tiny bit of water accumulation on the down slopes.

Tee's are starting to show a tiny bit of wear, but still in great condition.

Played in 3:45. Ball was really carrying in the heat. Ydg's were dead on. Practice greens were perfect.

The service, staff, and facility or outstanding. Great golf, beautiful course, and just an awesome experience every time I go.

Got baited into a GolfNow deal at this club. 8:30am Saturday Morning. The course was once a private venue back in the early and mid 2000's up until the economy tanked and the foreclosure crisis hit east Contra Costa County.

Upon arrival the clubhouse/pro shop seemed adequate. Then things wen't down hill. Fast.

Golf carts were not cleaned out from previous day/round. Range balls came out of a large garbage can and were dirty. Like mud, and earth still stuck to them. Upon further investigation, these were not range balls. They were balls collected from water hazards around the course! On the first tee we spotted one of the staff fishing out balls from the water on 18.

The driving range resembled the range from Tin Cup, minus the abandoned car and armadillos running around. Range mats were beat, torn, some missing large patches.

Tee boxes were thin to the point of dirt. Weeds, different grasses growing, etc. Tips and white's were maybe 2yds apart. Fairways were thin..lots of mud/dirt down the middle. Bunkers were dirt, no sand! Greens were green, soft, and spongy.

Now we all know we are in a water crisis, however this place has standing water in the bunkers? The fairways are bald yet tons of standing water on cart paths, and areas between greens and waste areas?

It's the worst course I've come across... by far.

The course was fairly easy to play. Most challenging holes were short par 5's with water hazards. Powerlines running length/middle of some par 3's. House's line many of the fairways.

This course could be a great muni, but unfortunately it's just not run well.

Played this course on Tuesday, July 7th. $80pp with cart. Weather was mild but thick with the humidity. Flash flood watch was in effect as Lake Tahoe was getting pounded during this time.

This is a fun course built around a residential community just off of Johnsville Rd and Hwy 89 tucked under a ridge. The middle arm of the Feather River runs through the boundary of the course.

This is a shorter course with narrow fairways and small greens. Target golf. If you are not accurate with the driver, then you should focus on your long irons for sure or you will be OB and searching for your ball all day.

The course was in fantastic shape, considering the recent weather they have been getting. Everything is lush, green, and rolling well.

The front 9 is more open than the back nine, with narrow house lined fairways. Small undulations in the fairway, and lots of water make it a challenging course even with the short yardages.

Service was great, fantastic driving range with awesome views. Club house and restaurant is a real gem if you visit this area. Friendly staff.

Lot's of homes are for rent on this course. We have played here every year for the past 5 years with a group and rent out several condo's on the 4th hole. In the evenings once play is done you can find yourself working on your short game around the 4th green or you can fish the feather river which runs down the back side of the 4th fairway.

Great guys trip if you ever want to visit this area. It's about a 4hr drive from San Francisco. Just an hour north of Truckee.

Played Graeagle Meadows on Monday July 6th. Weather was mild with some light humidity. Check in was simple, and was $80pp w/ cart. Driving range was adequate with a mix of grass and artificial turf hitting areas. There was also a small short game area available for use.

Course was in great shape, and had been renovated in the past few years. Restaurant and bar were nice and had a great deck over looking the course. Lot's of wildlife on the course, including some bear prints in the sand traps.

Course provides a free yardage book, and the website offers tips on playing the individual holes.

The course is fairly compact... Tee boxes are in close proximity to the green of the previous hole. Lot's of undulations in the fairways, some blind shots, and some water hazards that can come into play if you don't pay attention to the yardages. Fairways and green were in great shape. Bunker complex's were tidy, sand was perfect.

Enjoyed the course overall. Wasn't overly demanding or difficult. You should however study before you go, especially with the doglegged holes, and water hazards which can catch you off guard and throw off your approach shots.
