Walked the orange tees today 5/27/2025 with my buddy Mark joined by Jim Sr and Jim Jr. Very fun 4some. Our Pop was 4 hrs 40 minutes. We paced ourselves comfortable teeing off at 12 noon never having to wait and nevoer letting the group behind catch us. Weather was perfect about 72 degrees with maybe a one club wind. We ate after the round, cant go wrong with the fish and chips, burgers and drinks at their grill.

Soule park is rounding into beautiful peak season shape.

Am I really walking these emerald green fairways with perfect lush carpet lies for these green fees?? Rated 9/10 highlight of the course.

Tees were in great shape, perfect lush and level teeing grounds 8.5/10.

Rough lining the fairways beautiful condition left just higher than the beautiful lush fairways. 8.5/10

Was not in any bunkers but they always have an ample nice amount of thick quality beach sand.

The greens were actually the weak part of the course. Dont get me wrong they were in great shape health wise rolling pure. They were just super slow and long and grainy from what Im used to here. Maybe a slow 9 on stimp. Probably keeping them watered and longer for the hotter upcoming ojai summer. Rated 7/10.

Rating should come out to above an 8. Such a pleasure to play one of the better public's in the area. Highly recommended!

Walked the blues this afternoon 5/19/2025 right at twilight with my buddy Matt joined by Randy who we have played with on our rotation of courses we usually play. We had a blast today under perfect weather conditions 72 degrees and maybe a 5mph breeze. Pop was 4 hrs 45 minutes with lots of golfers on the course today.

First time out since late last year and the course is shaping up into nice beginning of summer Olivas conditions.

Most Fairways were in good shape with some small areas of little gir patches with irrigation flags that the groudcrew is working on. Rated 8/10. Fairways will only getter better with the warmer weather.

Greens are in great shape rolling quick and pure. They held irons nicely. I'm used to softer greens here but these were rolling nice and quick. Rated 8.5/10

Tees are almost always level and nice and lush which they were today. Rated 8.5/10

Fairway rough just off the fairways in good shape. Get outside the cart path and it's thick vegetation and lost ball city. Lucky to have only one penalty shot today but can see many lost balls on a real wayward day. Rated 8/10

Was not in any bunkers but my buddy was in 2 greenside bunkers that he described as having perfect white marble pancake material which he executed beautifully!

The staff here are about as friendly as you will see. Great practice area, great prices, wonderful layout and peaking into great summer conditions. The next 4-5 months is the time to get out and play olivas.

Walked the golds on Cinco De Mayo this afternoon teeing off around 1:40pm with my buddy Mark. Pop 4 hrs walking under partly cloudy cooler conditions in the low 60s with maybe a club wind. Very pleasant conditions. Met by Vern in the proshop who is always so friendly. They have an all grass range and a huge very sloped putting green to get players warmed up for their round.

The conditions at Sandpiper are very lush and awesome.

Fairways were close to pga standards in 95% of the fairways. Perfect carpet lies ball sitting up beautiful. They have a couple spots of ground under repair on a couple holes they are working on but I have never seen the fairways better. 9/10

Tees were very lush, mostly all level. 8.5/10

Was in 2 greenside bunkers that had a brown clay like material that had just the right amount of sand. 7.5/10

Rough was very lush just lining the fairways and mowed beautiful. Great shape 9/10. They have grown the rough up between 8/15, 15/16, right of 17, left of 13 and left of 14...it is lost ball city if you spray in those areas at this time which I experienced luckily only once on my tee ball left on 13. For sure makes this course so beautiful on the eyes and adds toughness and POP.

Ending with the greens which were in beautiful shape. Evidence of a small circular punch that really did not effect putting at all. Stimp rating an 11. Greens rating 8.5/10

If you want to challenge yourself under lush conditions and fast sloped greens get out to Sandpiper now.

Rode the blues this morning 4/21/25 joined by Mark, Kyle and Bob in 4 hrs 55 minutes under blue skies, maybe a 10 mph breeze around 75 degrees..a perfect weather day. Great group of gents to play with.

Wood Ranch has two nice putting greens, a seperate chipping/bunker complex above the 18th green and a nice downhill valley range with targets that was on artificial turf today.

I have played here around 5 or 6 times and the conditions have always impressed and were no different today.

Greens looked like they had a minor slit done weeks ago but they did not effect putting at all. They also had a minor top dressing of grainy sand. The greens were pure, quick and rolling great. Maybe a 12 on the stimp. Holding approach shots nicely that had higher trajectory or had spin. If you short sided yourself chipping you paid the price with the speed of the greens. Rated 9/10.

Fairways were in nice shape thinner but padded lush grass in most parts of the fairways. Rated 8/10.

Was in one greenside bunker on hole 10 that had perfect beach sand to splash out of. Rated 8.5/10.

Tees were in good shape with a couple of the blue tee boxes sloped. Rated 7.5/10.

Rough was juicy and healthy lining the fairways but manageable. Rated 8/10.

One of the better back nines in the county.

Rode the blues this morning 4/14/25 with buddies Matt and Mark joined by Matt who was a pleasure to play with. Our POP was 5 hours and we had very minimal waiting under beautiful cooler weather in the low 60s with a breeze that picked up on the back nine.

I have played here several times and the course is in fabulous shape[check out my IG account for pics] with nice lush Fairways 8.5/10, healthy juicy beautiful maintained rough 9.5/10, quick firm greens rolling about an 11.5 on the stimp 9/10, beautifully maintained bunkers with white marble sand 9/10 and tees that were level and lush 8.5/10. It's what you would expect a great private CC like Saticoy CC.

Love the challenging layout with numerous doglegs, elevation changes, quick undulating speedy greens and thick rough.

Def a club I would join if I lived in the area. One of the better courses in the county.

Rode the blues this morning 4/7/25 with my buddy Ron in 3 hrs 5 minutes passing a 4some on 12 tee and a 2some on 14 tee. Cooler start in the high 50s with a steady 10-15mph wind for most of the back nine. Met by Stacy in the proshop who is super friendly. Rolled a couple putts and we each hit about 10 warm up shots on there grass range.

La P is in great shape with soft receptive greens that still rolled quick and were in great shape! Rated 8.5/10.

Fairways were in very good shape with perfect green lush lies. I noticed 4 sand bottles in each cart which is great for repair and reseeding of divots. U can tell members take care of this course. Many of the fairways are undulating and can slope even well struck drives into the rough. Rated 8.5/10

My buddy stated they re-furbished all the bunkers in 2021 during covid with new sand and they are beautiful and contain the right amount of thick beach sand. Rated 8/10.

Tees were mostly level and in good shape. Rated 7/10

Rough can be challenging and thick. It's in good shape. Rated 9/10.

Layout is awesome and challenging here. 73 qualified for local us open qualifying here last year from a mix of blue/black tees. The front nine gives you a couple scoring opportunities whereas as hang on tight on the back nine. Lots of elevation changes, some doglegs, some carries required for tee shots. A ball strikers delight. The most amazing part of the course for me is the peace and quiet amongst rolling Vineyard hills. The camera comes out of the bag on top of 6 tee overlooking the whole property. If you want to test your game come play LA Pirana.

Played in the Golfmoose/Vivid golf GK outing this morning 3/31/25 joined by buddies Matt and Ron and a pleasure to meet and be joined by Anthony. We had a great time today with lots of good shots under cooler low 60s degree weather with up to a 2 club wind. Our POP was around 4 hrs 45 minutes which flowed well for this outing. Enjoyed the massive chipping/bunker area, huge massive putting green which mirrored the speed of the greens well. They have a massive downhill driving range which were on mats this morning.

Very impressed with the conditions this morning. Most Fairways were very lush with maybe some dry spots on a couple of the front nine holes but for sure Fairways on average were in the 8/10 range.

The rough was very green, very lush , healthy and a club grabber just off the fairways. Beautiful shape 9/10

Greens were the highlight of the show. I love quick and pure greens and these were that. Downhillers a 12 on the stimp, regular flat putts an 11. Very firm greens that rewarded irons with spin and punished shots with no spin. Some of the better greens I have putted on this year. Rated 9/10

Tees mainly level, lush and uniform and in good shape. Rated 8/10.

Was in one greenside bunker and 2 Fairway bunkers that were in great shape. Rated 8.5/10

Very fun and challenging layout that a member here could play everyday and not get tired of a boring layout. Not tight but crooked approach shots to the green can be penal. Very ample scoring holes, doglegs, mature trees, some water features on the front nine.

Very much recommended if looking to join.

Walked the oranges with my buddy Matt yesterday 3/24/25 teeing off just before 2pm under 87 degree weather that although hot walking felt great after a colder winter. Joined by a husband/wife that just played 9. Our POP was 4 hrs 25 minutes with maybe a club wind on a very pleasant weather day. Friendly staff inside the proshop and we ate at Zaidees bar and grill after the round which has awesome fish and chips.

I'm just amazed at the job the staff does up here. The fairways are a 9/10 bordering on Palm Springs level. Perfect lies. Just a few muddy areas from recent rains here in there but pretty much perfect conditions.

Tees were beautiful, lush, mainly level. 8/10

Was in greenside bunker on hole 3 with perfect raked beach sand. Rated 8/10

Rough is mowed just higher than the super lush Fairways and is in great shape. 8.5/10

Greens were very healthy, accepting irons very softly and rolling at a medium pace. Rated 8/10.

Conditions will only get better if that's possible.

One of the best values in socal. Great layout, staff, prices and conditions. Recommended.

Rode the blues today 3/3/25 teeing off around 12:10pm getting around in about 3 hrs 25 minutes catching a couple groups on 17 and 18. 1-2 club colder wind for Ojai area which is unique up here as the mountains usually guard the wind. I had played here 3 times from Dec 2021 to Dec 2022. First round out here in a little over 2 years. Driving into the Inn there are parts where you don't even feel like your in California. Just a beautiful setting for golf. I snapped a bunch of pics on IG which shows how beautiful the golf course is. Met by very professional and friendly staff in the pro shop and cart staging area. Driving range on mats today with their pitching/putting green below. Carts had newer padded seats and great GPS system.

Layout on the front is substantially shorter, tighter and makes you work the ball a little more. Back nine is a bit more open in spots but requires a great long game with 3 longer tough par 3s. The layout has a great flow to it.

The greens were in great shape. Quick, firm rolling a true 11.5 on the stimp. Very little to no ballmarks present. I do see they are punching later this month. Rated 8.5/10

Fairways were lush for the most part with some areas a little thin and sandy under some shady spots. Rated 7.5/10.

I was in 3 greenside bunkers that contained thicker base layer with ample raked sand. Rated 8/10

Rough was in good shape around the greens and fairways. Not to penal and didn't see much kikuya grass. Rated 8/10.

Tee boxes were decent mostly level with a few being thin. No big deal. Rated 7/10.

I know conditions here will, only improve with upcoming March rains and upcoming maintenance. Would highly endorse and recommend OVI.

Rode the blues this morning 1/27/25 for the Golfmoose event with buddies John, Matt and joined by Bryan who was a pleasure to meet. I think our POP was around 5 hrs under cold damp 48 degree weather with at times maybe a one club wind. I enjoyed their grass driving range, seperate larger chipping and bunker area and massive putting green..should have spent more time there, lol!

First time here and really enjoyed the layout! For sure a second shot golf course where there is ample room to bomb drives but if your wedges or putting is off expect some challenges to some smaller raised green complexes. The course flowed extremely well with some doglegs, straight forward holes, some holes with force carries on the second shot but nothing tricked out or unfair about the layout. I loved hitting tee shots on this course! The beautiful homes lining the golf course really don't come into play. Jack designed some awesome strategically placed greenside and Fairway bunkers everywhere.

Greens were in good shape rolling medium to quick pace and holding irons very well. Boy did I have a hard time reading the undulations in the greens today. Many potato chip swales that made lag putting or just holing putts in general tough. Rated 8/10

Fairways were bright green and in good shape with a tighter firm base. Rated 8/10

Tees were mostly level with the usual divot damage on par 3s with the rest of the tees in good shape. Rated 7/10

The fairway rough was a dormant light brown color which visually contrasted beautifully with the emerald green Fairways. I felt the rough just outside the fairways to be easy to hit off but the greenside rough was very wet, muddy and very tough to chip off of. This is not the courses fault as it is winter and they did get some rain but would like to come back when there is grass in the grass bunkers and chipping areas and not muddy dirt. Rough rating 6/10

Was in 1 Fairway bunker and 1 greenside bunker that had the most beautiful white powder material and a pleasure to play out of. I wish all courses took a page out of Bear Creeks bunkers. Rated 8.5/10.

Highly recommend this course and would like to come back on a normal temperature day with the chipping areas in better shape.

Rode the blues this morning 1/13/25 as a part of the Golfmoose/GK event with buddies John, Ron and Mark under blustery conditions to say the least 25mph plus sustained with some gusts up to 40mph. Surprised the course let us out but we enjoyed the day! Pop was around 4 hrs 45 minutes. It was in the 60s and cold!

Friendly cartbarn staff. This would be a great club to join. 2 nice seperate putting greens, elevated big range with many targets and a seperate short game area with bunkers down the hill just right of 10 green.

Greens were in really great shape with a mixture of devilish downhill and side hill rolls on putts yet still holding irons and approach shots very nicely. Rated 8.5/10

Fairways were tighter padded semi lush grass in good shape rated 8/10. It was just a lighter color than the juicy green thick rough that can be a club grabber. Rough rating 8.5/10.

Was in one greenside bunker that had a great base of sand to blast out of. Always seems like the bunkers are in great shape here. Rated 8/10

Tees all level and in good shape. Rated 8/10.

The Saticoy Club is very much recommended! I love this golf course.

Rode the blues this morning 1/6/25 at 11:10am with buddies John, Ron and Mark for the Gk/Golfmoose event under beautiful golf weather with hardly any wind and temps around 70 degrees. Pop was around 4 hrs 40 minutes. Very friendly staff here and nice practice facilities with a large putting green that mirrored the speed of the greens on the course, large driving range on mats and a nice chipping/bunker short game area. Did not eat at their grill but we saw many players enjoying their grill.

My second time here. I enjoy the back nine much more than the front nine. In my opinion just better holes on the back nine even with the two funky par 5s #10 and #12. Las posas has two very challenging par 3s on the front #6 and #9 from the back tees that will challenge the best of players. From a layout perspective you get some tighter straight forward holes and then some dogleg holes on the back nine that I enjoy playing.

Conditions were above average on all fronts.

Fairways were a tad wetter,/tighter especially in shady spots but almost always contained decent lies. Rated 7/10

Tees mostly level and in good shape with some of the 3 pars a little chewed up. Rated 7/10

Greens were very quick downhill and side hill wise and medium paced uphill. Not to many ballmarks with true rolls. Very receptive to well struck shots. Rated 8/10

Rough was pretty non-existent and cut low just off the fairways. Rated 6.5/10

Our group as a whole were in numerous bunkers. The two I was in contained what looked like a firmer base on top with a nice thicker base underneath the top level. All bunkers I encountered were raked nicely. There are many strategic greenside and fairway bunkers on this course.

I would recommend this course to anyone.
